Desiree, that's awesome, getting out there is the first step! For free forest service camping I use iOverlander, the app, but you can also look up formal sites on recreation.gov or reserveamerica.com and make reservations there.

I actually don't know what those flowers are, I should look them up. I didn't carry bear spray because I wasn't in grizzly country, but I do have an air horn to scare away the brown bears.

Just a question....what do you carry with you when you go on your hikes 🚶♂️? You keep the eating parts in your vlogs, I'd rather hear if it was good, instead of just saying what you got and a picture. Be safe, enjoy your adventures.
Delta, thanks. On short hikes I'll just take my phone, keys and wallet. On longer hikes, I'll take snacks, water and an air horn if animals are a concern. On an overnight backpack, I take all the usual stuff you need to survive comfortably.
