      True... because all of these commercials were aired during the 80s or 90s. I mean... Nintendo were making handhelds and consoles during this time and they were best sellers past all the others.. Like the Gameboy, SNES, NES, Game and Watch, and the Virtual Boy... In which was Nintendo's Worst Seller.

    • @Nightweaver1
      @Nightweaver1 2 роки тому +6

      @@fligigigigigig222 Pretty sure a lot of these pre-date Nintendo... this is stuff from the 1970s and early 1980s, like the Odyssey, Intellivision, Atari and Vectrex. Only really old guys like me remember those coming out.

    • @MadameSomnambule
      @MadameSomnambule Рік тому +1

      @@Nightweaver1 Technically they don't predate Nintendo as that company formed in the 1880s as a playing card company. Nintendo also made home video games in the 70s with the Color TV Games pong consoles but those were Japanese only. Though I guess you could say more accurately that these predated Nintendo's global presence in gaming.

    This is such a great flashback video for me. In particular the "Under 50 buck's, 50 bucks?! It's the 2600 from Atari" that song has never left my head since my early teens in the 1980's. I held on to my fifty $ plus another 40 bucks to get my NES by late 1987 instead. Great video flashback. Thank you.

    My first console was the Odyssey 2... Sadly I was born in '89 hahaha! I felt like the most badass in the world when I got mine, than realized with tragedy at the Super NES and other consoles my friends owned... I learned alot with that experience, first and foremost that not everything purchased at an antique auction and called vintage meant (technology wise) you got your money worth *sigh*.
    For some reason that was the first attempt at a easter with a present, it didn't become a tradition. =)

    I didn't need video game consoles in the 80s. I was an arcade manager. I used to invite my friends to the store after closing time and let them play whatever they wanted for free. Our store was pretty big. We had about 75 pinball machines and 100 video games. Our most successful games were Asteroids, Galaxian, Pac Man and Missle Command. Our least successful game was 3D Tank. It was too complicated for the average kid. My favorite was Missle Command. Back in 2003 I downloaded the original arcade Missle Command rom to play on my computer. I was all excited. I had MAME which was an arcade emulator. I turned it on and indicated "Missle Command." and I forgot something. Can you guess? As soon I turned it on I got the message:
    "Insert Quarter." 😆
