A prime example of turning poor people food into rich people food, thanks to marketing
Just like chicken wings were given away or thrown in the garbage by butcher shops because they looked at the results as mere bones. Now people can't get enough of chicken wings. Now the cost has gone up & on all dinner tables & at all outings. The butchers didn't know the value of those heavenly bones..God's gift to this world. Stay in the light & love! ❤love❤ heavenly bones
@@helenirvin1018Witxh craft talk. Y’all did the same with watermelon.
And? It gives jobs
Gentrification and colonization ruins everything.
@@tfordham13 you misspelled “exploits low income workers even more”
Dammit, if only my Korean father-in-law had invested in a seaweed farm instead of a pig farm in the 90’s.
😂❤😅
It’s so delicious to snack on, we even have it in Canada! There’s bbq, garlic etc 😊
Nori is honestly one of my FAVORITE snacks to eat! I would much rather eat seaweed sheets than potato chips, or any other crunchy, salty snack. And it is SO much healthier than a deep fried potato snack!! Thank God for Asians and their wonderful foods!!!!
Most commercial nori sheets arent really healthy actually as they are processed with added preservatives and flavorings in addition to being pumped with oil, not much different from potato chips.
As usual, both nori and potatoes are best eaten when prepared by yourself.
be careful eating too much. Iodine toxicity is a thing. Also, they usually have a lot of sodium. But yet I think probably better.
god doesn't exist but ok
This is actually what we call Gamtae(감태), different from nori. Nori should look more dark in color
@@angelinimartiniFr, wanted to say that too. Some have a warning to not eat more than 2 sheets a day, others dont but still have tons of iodine
Thats it im moving to west coast of scotland..😂 theres mountains of it fs 😅
Are you going to start a business out of it? I think it's a great idea.
@@valarmorghulis8139 ya never know! Never say never lol, at this moment of my life ill take anything that comes my way ❤
@@CurtBhoy1888 looks all about the labour work the seaweed it self is everywhere
Would be great maybe we could finally get some affordable nori sheets in Europe...
Very good thanks for present your products and work
Hair algae! Us reefers use it to remove excess nutrients from the aquarium.
Somehow it feels like there's probably a more efficient way than the traditional method of harvesting by hand
Theres not, it's a super delicate plant, and if you pull to much there will be less the next harvest year
I just had seaweed for a snack after dinner. Haha It was too good to the point where I had to finish 3 containers.
Feel bad for the locals. Another persons greed is taking one of their sources of food
You talk like they’re some third world country solely dependent on it 😂. Also they’re pretty smart with not taking too much, and making sure there’s plenty for everyone
@@PT03 I'm sure if you had a local apple tree that everyone used suddenly was barren because some lady started taking it all to sell.. you'd be pissed. Has nothing to do with it being a third world country
It's called capitalism, get used to it. She found a way to make money for herself. She's not evil, she's making a living.
You don't even know how sustainable those plants really are to assume the locals are dying from her business.
It's one of the most surprising rise of an unknown food on the market today.
Research it before you call a yt short evil.
@@Ryan-wx1bi They’re rare because they can only be harvested for a certain period a year. Who’s to say the seaweed isn’t in abundance? She’s actually smart for prolonging the shelf-life of the seaweed.
@@Ryan-wx1biThis seaweed is found everywhere across the globe. They should be happy that a new business is paying taxes and employing people in their town.
This is how every rare cultural gem gets commodified & bougied. Rich showboats trying to find the fanciest foods, whether they like it or not. Until locals can't afford to eat their favourite delicacy, vs selling it. Brings wealth to the small towns at least. But even that probably divides the majority of profit to Western importers
Looking at that sheet of seaweed like its pure gold 😂 yeah, no
Yeah just walk over them
what is this seaweed name in english??
I believe this is what we call Gamtae(감태), Ulva prolifera. 김(Laver) is more dark in color
감태(Gamtai)
Is it clean to eat ?
Damn it . We litrelly exploit everything we can get our hands on
Sea weed or algae?
No thanks
Done business

Japan never ceases to amaise
South Korea
Weeaboo response. This just in: there are more countries in Asia than just Japan, and the name of the one in question was stated in this short. Try again. 🤦
Those weeds contain high concentrations of toxic chemicals elements 🎉 so good appetite people 😂
She is a terrible person
sheesh
Why do you think that?
You're not too.
Smart are you
She’s so terrible for creating local jobs and spreading Korean cuisine, what a horrible person
