To the people watching: This video might look terribly unprofessional, but it looks like the only video on UA-cam that properly explains, step by step, what a signal has to go through to be modulated (In FM). Thank you a lot. You were better than many other.
was better to make transistor emitter to the bottom as usual or draw the direction of emitter, but as you said this video was the best video on internet explain how things work.
The function of the two transistors in this circuit is not fully explained so I will try to contribute some additional information. The first transistor works as an audio amplifier in a common emitter configuration. The second transistor actually has 2 functions. It is a driver for the oscillator and frequency modulator at the same time. It is in a common base amplifier configuration with a capacitor accros the collector and emitter that provides feedback for driving the tank circuit. Frequency modulation is performed by changing the voltage on the base of the second transistor thus changing the Miller capacitance of the PN junction on the transistor. This changes the capacitance of the tank circuit which in turn changes the carrier frequency.
i have seen and made this circuit 100 times. after 2 years , i was still searching how this tank circuit is feed backed. and after a long time, you made my day.. its looks like common Emitter but No. its common base... it Mix signal by changing capacitance of junction. and for such High Frequency , its small change is enaugh. thanks. many many thanx for explaining.
Been looking for an actual explanation of how a simple transmitter works and this is the only one I've found that's actually explained anything. Thank you!
Thank you. Probably one of the best explanations I have seen anywhere online. Some folks get too complicated others over simplify to the point you can never build one. You my friend have got it spot on. Well done , people like you make the internet a happy joyous place of learning. I sincerely wish you a most fulfilling and happy life.
Excellent and simple to understand, as stated by other viewers, first time came across a video that gives full explanation of the circuit, components and their function. Plus as relevant today April 2022 as when it was I first made. Keep up the simplicity and excellent work.
I was long searching for this kind of Videos , in which somebody acts like a thinking being, explaining what actually it's going on..just amazing..Great video! Thanks!
I'm a Chemical Engineering...however...I do like tinker with electronics...Now to the point, you have explained a very complicated subject...down to the 3 important parts....Even more, you have done so...without the need of fancy equipment...or fancy blackboard...or anything...just a pen and few sheets of paper!!! My friend, keep doing this type of very illustrative video!!! You have a new subscriber.!!! Greetings from Puerto Rico.
this video answers a question i watched 1 hour of videos to try and get at... that is how is a fm transmitter set to a specific frequency and you answered it.
Please made whole analog communication engineering video. Theory and practical both show . I am always respectful of your. Thanks a lot. Please Go Ahead.
Thank You for this video. You appear very intelligent. You explain this subject simply, because you know it well. Thanks again, I now completely understand how a FM transmitter works.
Any video on explaining the circuitry of RC toys , how the signal transmission between the transmitter and receiver module take place to control the dc motor , or any other motor in the RC toy
Assume that a sine wave is recived after amplification. During the positive cycle, the second BJT is ON , ckt is complete and a certain frequency is transmitted through the antenna. But when negative cycle occurs, the BJT is OFF and the tank ckt doesn’t produce frequency because it path is not completed so nothing shall get transmitted. So Im not sure how this works. Pls explain
Sir one thing i would like to ask you why collector to emitter is connected by capacitor in oscillator section if there is a parallel LC tuned circuit. 🙏
Please can u recommend any PDF or book in which I can learn about transmitters indebtly.... I want to build a big transmitter capable of transmitting to a community..... I also want to build an FM radio studio
Can anyone give full circuit diagram of this project or give the actual value of those components?? Like which transistor, capacitors, resistprs has been used?
Hi how explain FM receiver IF band mode separation if local station signal is to strong but long distant station broadcasting on the same frequency can we listen
=> If you want to put an audio input instead of a mic, you must only remove that resistor connected from battery positive pole to mic positive pole and instead of mic you solder an audio cable. That resistor is there only to lower the voltage that goes to mic to properly power it... In that case you don't need (it still can stay but not really necessary) the preamplifier stage (first transistor right from the mic). You need only oscillator stage, and if you want it (if not enough power at the output for your needs, not good coverage, etc..) additional RF power boost stage... => Of course its mono, for stereo operation you need to build a stereo coder unit. Google it. Cheers! ;-)
***@alpesh vitha Good instruction video BUT as the others have said you need to list the components and values.*** The link does NOT work as everyone is saying. BTW this video is 5 years old to date. So maybe he is no longer posting? The transistor is a NPN and probably a 2N3904. The RF carrier usually uses pico farads and the variable capacitor is about 60 - 140 pF. Thanks for describing the working theory behind FM transmission though. :)

But to be common base RF oscillator its base shoud be grounded by capacitor from base to ground

Thank you, Alpesh Vitha. It is 2022 and this video is still relevant and well explained.
This is the exact video which explained the important concept behind to make a FM Transmitter.
Thanks a lot Dude.
This video taught me loads that I didn't know. Thanks!
Awesome explanation!! Like some here , you explained what most people skip over. Thanks for sharing and taking time to make the video.

Is the red wire the antena?
What is the minimum length for the antena to work good?
Thanks bhai for passing on that knowledge
Nice explanation
Great
The above circuit worked for me
Have u used Copper wire with turns as an inductor and variable capacitor for the tank circuit???
@@guramkondayashwanth4127 Yes bro
Do you have any working circuit of FM receiver
How can I contact you, I have lots of doubts
@@guramkondayashwanth4127 saranravi24@gmail.com
