    This was incredible. I was 18 years old when Casino Royale hit theaters. Now I'm 33. It was such an honor to see No Time To Die at the cinema. It felt like clearing out the locker and moving on to the next chapter. This video was a great reminder on just how amazing Daniel Craig was as Bond. It truly feels like an end of an era.

      No, the producers decided to change Bond not Craig...They decided that they wanted to go from the handsome Bond to a sexy more rougher Bond with debonair with it.
      Next Bond will probably go back to the purely handsome Bond but with debonair.
      Craig's Bond did not care about cuts and body bruises, so yes it will be hard to find a Bond of differences because the differences all have been covered.

    Man, in retrospect, putting all five films side by side, No Time To Die really is a damn good movie and so much better than I feel it was received (although I recognize it was received fairly well). I think time will be very kind to it, and it will have a sort of reevaluation in years to come the same way On Her Majesty's Secret Service did. It's just got that fundamentally good story telling that stands the test of time, and it's tough to see it in the moment with all the hype, following in the shoes of Casino Royale and Skyfall, and having Bond die is a tough pill to swallow. But once that all wears off in years to come, the great story telling will remain and it will for sure be recognized as one of the better Bond films. And you can thank Daniel Craig for that, because it just feels like everyone involved was dedicated to giving this man the best send off possible for what he did for the character, and that's what makes the film so good. I kinda knew he was going to die pretty early in the movie because it just felt like every bit of it was so important, so heavy, and the perfect send off. They really committed to making it an emotionally powerful film and I think they pulled it off.

    • @brucesnow7125
      @brucesnow7125 2 роки тому +23

      I recently decided to watch all five Craig movies back to back. No Time to Die is such a great conclusion to his story. We see Bond acting more open and showing more vulnerablity, showing how time away from MI-6 helped him be more human I guess. Not only that, but the story perfectly ties into previous films thematically. From the start, Bond believed that he will just die and be replaced, leaving nothing behind. M, Vesper, Mathis, his parents, his guardian, etc. - all kept dying. In Spectre, you can hear M give a speech about the nature of spies, how they disappear in the shadows, only hoping that they leave something after them.
      No Time to Die is like massive reminder for Bond that he might just be forgotten. Vesper's grave gets destroyed, he stupidly lets Madeleine go, Felix dies, he gets replaced by another 007, even Spectre gets obliterated easily with insanely advanced tech showing that agents like him might be becoming irrelevant. Yet, despite all his issues, it turns out, something wonderful came out of the whole thing - Mathilde. Yet, his own child does not know him and Madeleing straight up tells him that he is not her father, so it fuels his fear of disappearing even more. Throughout the rest of the film, he earns the love of Madeleine back, which leads to her making sure that Mathilde will know about Bond, keeping his memory alive. Not only that, but he manages to get 00 title again from M, and his coworkers still decide to risk going behind M's back just to help Bond. Even Nomi, out of respect for Bond, decides to give him back his actual 007 title back. He goes on to save the world through his sheer skill and will, showcasing that he is as relevant as he always was.
      So, Bond dies with a smile, knowing that he will be remembered with a fondness and that after all these years, he kept his humanity. It is such a perfect end to his character.

      I was disappointed with the villain, but the movie was still good. He wants to destroy spectre, but for some reason he also wants to kill millions of people, his overall motive is pretty weak and unclear. Also his leverage over Bond and Madeline was the child and yet he just lets her go, odd.

      Yeah I have it;
      1. Casino Royale (very well paced, perfect mix of tension, drama and action, great plot, great villain) 9/10
      2. Skyfall (very strong plotline with Bond having to get back to his best after being shot, M's relationships with her agents, a bit of back story on Bond etc. Great villain that was well fleshed out. Action scenes were also terrific especially the end. Only criticism is the movie felt short) 8/10
      3. No Time To Die (probably the most emotional of all the films, decent action, liked the fact that there was another 007, ending was perfect. It did lack a bit of charm though, maybe not enough humour like the others, and the villain was okay but a bit too generic) 7.5/10
      4. Quantum Of Solace (close between this and NTTD, this film had great action, maybe the best of the 5, but the plotline was a bit weak, and the villain was a quite forgettable. Wasn't a bad movie though) 7/10
      5. Spectre (the movie with the most potential but it's by far the worst. The colouring is dull for one, the plotline was strong but written badly, the Spectre plot should have been for the final film, Waltz Blofield was not nearly fleshed out enough considering he was the biggest villain, the final climax was tame. The only movie of the 5 I didn't enjoy) 4/10

    I like this, good editing. What's cool about the Craig era is that there's an actual character arc for his Bond that is developed throughout his five films. Heck, it's arguably the full story of Bond's life, although we'll see what the situation is for the next film. I do wonder if this will become more overt in future Bond instalments. Not to say all of the new Bonds will have deeply personal/serious backstories and character development, but just that there'll be more pre-planning for where they want to go with the character over the course of however many films, what aspects they want to explore etc. There's interesting stuff from the novels they could run with - Bond's attitude towards killing (he has a dislike of killing in cold blood, which gets him into trouble and causes much conflict in a couple of the novels).

    I think they did a magnificent job modernizing the character while still holding on to the classic ideas of James Bond in the Daniel Craig era. The fact that they made him more vulnerable, addressed his character flaws as well as his strengths and even went as far as killing him made the emotional stakes in these movies so much higher. He’s still inspirational and larger than life, but the empathy one has for the character, took these films from “plain” action movies and added a whole other dimension to them.

    Tears pouring down my face like an idiot now. Damn you and thank you for this! :-) There were writing choices and whole films in Craig's era that I seriously disliked, and I think we got as many lows as highs, but as imperfect as his run was, he's my absolute favourite Bond. Daniel did a great job of making Bond feel like a three dimensional human being I could emotionally invest in, rather than an invincible comic book character. His Bond captured my heart and made me a fan of this wonderful franchise. I'm really going to miss him.

    Another edit of yours that sends chills down my spine. There is however one thing I'd like to address, that in some parts affect this video, but mostly the previous video "Paul Thomas Anderson's Universe": Sometimes the dialogue is nearly inaudible because of the music. On the PTA's Universe video it is was far more noticable, though. In part because Nena's voice conflicted with the dialogue in the first half, then there's the mumbled nature of the dialogue in his films, and lastly because it felt a few decibels lower than the music. On the Craig Era Bond this was only the case a few times. Love your videos and the choices you make comprising them!

    • @S.Thomas_7
      @S.Thomas_7  2 роки тому +5

      Oh thanks, the mixing process is important me... I've usually never have the same process, each time is different. and I'm trying to do the best to make the dialogue audible without throwing the music. In this one, i've put the music decibels more lower. and plus for explain, I use dialogue from movies with background noises and musics, that's i'm trying to hide the most with my musics. It's not clean dialogue, and even if i clean up too much, the dialogue will be distorted so I don't know if you used headphone but it's mostly recommended.

    I really loved Daniel Craig as Bond. He was more emotional than other bond. You wanted to know more about him and his life, his past. It was definitely the best to experience. Then when the final movie came and I saw it, I really cried many times to scenes in the movie. So perfect finale. With your editing of of all his bond movies, I feel the same I felt when I saw all the movies.
    You really captured everything. Thank You

    Thank you for this wonderful video, which I watched until the last second without taking my eyes off
    This path was so...So meaningful to me
    I only became a fan in 2020, you know, right before the very first postponement due to covid. I can say that this time has passed for me with benefit. I revised my view of films, reviewed them several times, became a fan even more. It was an agonizing wait of more than a year and a half, but damn it, it was worth it.
    I cry every time I watch the end of the film or remember scenes while listening to Billie Eilish's No Time to Die. and when i realized today the fact that the NTTD gunbarrel showed a huge spoiler at the beginning of the movie.. Bond did not shoot, there was no blood. Bad guys shot him. damn, i'm sitting here crying as i write this. And let someone tell me that movies can't evoke emotion, I've never f*cking cried about movie, before these films. Thank you Daniel You have done so much for me that I can't put into words what I would like to say.

    Wow! This is like a trailer for the whole craig era! I love this editing and there’s not one thing I would change. Also I love the transition at 5:39 and 7:33.
    Btw, I always think it’s funny when someone uses No Good About Goodbyes in place of Another Way to Die in one of these things because no one likes another way to die and it just fits it way more.

    I was 13 years old when Casino Royale came out now I'm 28 years old when No Time To Die came out. I remember watching Casino Royale in theatre it was the best experience first time watching a Bond film in theatre was so amazing. Then I watch Skyfall such a perfect bond movie. Daniel Craig is the best James Bond he made my childhood a elite one. The childhood that I will never forget where I watch all of Daniel Craig bond movie growing up. It's going to be hard for the next James Bond to fill up where Daniel Craig left off and I'm going to feel sorry for them because its going to be hard to fill up Daniel Craig's shoe. This tribute is the best tribute for Daniel Craig era as Bond best and amazing one. Thank you Craig for being Bond James Bond.

    This movie and how it ended was a little emotional for me. My uncle who was always the biggest Bond fan passed away a month after it came out. He was always Bond to me in a way. Lived about the fullest life I could imagine. The stories he would tell and the people I met through him were unreal. A real role model in every way also. Kind of sureal that both my uncle and Bond died.

    That was a mini masterpiece. I went to film school and I really appreciate the work that went into the editing. Absolutely first class. My favorite edit of this has to be jumping out of the plane and landing in a venetian skylight! Best sneaky insertion was the use of the QOS end credits song (I think?). Did you turn the green down, or are all the Bond films coloured like that? I've a feeling they are. Basically the traditional gold and blue palette of action movies these days.
    All the way through I was thinking "end it with the real gun barrel shot" and you did! Thanks for this beautiful memorial.

    • @loungingcat
      @loungingcat 2 роки тому +1

      yeah I wouldn't mind if they had kept him alive at the end, maybe imply that he pretended to die and went away with his family happily ever after... people might say "oh it's not him, he can't keep himself away from missions", but this ending is not like him either. He's stubborn and not trusting, he would be like "oh yeah the nanobots are in me forever? No we can do something about it.". They have advanced technologies and who's to say it's impossible to find a solution in the future? Have him run to another part of the island, the bombs are only targeting the facility. I think he's too accepting of his fate. With Madeleine and his daughter I think he would have a more determined will to live. The ending itself is beautiful though, they were able to be on the phone and Bond standing stoically as he's watching the bombs drop. I'm going to miss the Daniel Craig Bond :'(
