I think I made the same comment 6 months ago. I think elementals will be stronger in the next set but for right now… battlemage gets off the start line fast and completely owns it so I’m not really sure how elementalist is rated in a high tier at the end of Beta.
It happened to win the most recently league. Season five. The deck and gameplay should be released soon. However, I do think it gets better in AL. I personally like battlemage, but it feels like avatar of earth is just a better battlemage...
@@TheExperienceShare oh yeah 100 percent. I’m just saying that if you are grading where the cards are today I think that at the end of Beta. Battlemage is going to generally play faster and beat up on elementalist. I get that it’s in the wait and see but it shouldn’t be a “b” and battlemage a “c” Also… battlemage is one that is actually going to get a little worse from the higher card limits I think. I always had 3 phase assassins in the mix. I have mine build to run on 3 laying the 4 mana when convenient, meaning unlike avatar if earth… I don’t want to spend time setting up. I want to grappleshot or teleport immediately. I want the game to be over as fast as possible. With the phase assassins in the mix getting those free hits in that have to be dealt with… I get free his on stuff and can draw stuff and I really don’t care about taking damage. It’s a total race to the bottom. It works because generally people don’t like to play this way or aren’t used to it and it just throws people off. It’s a 5 turns or less strategy
On the surface it feels like geomancer is just a worse version of pathfinder but I guess the limitations of pathfinder make it so much more inconsistent for a competitive deck. I will say if roots remains a thing, pathfinder recovers better than most against it.
Pathfinder was the avatar that made me fall in love with sorcery. It is what "brought the game to life" in my imagination in a way that the other avatars did not. You get to have 3 cards advantage draws with the option to move your geomancer and 2/3 more card advantages. Pathfinder can also get cut off where geomancer cannot. As more sites release pathfinder should get better
