LETS GOOOO I've loved this game ever since I was a kid and been craving a new game. Never got to play 2 or 3 due to not having a dreamcast and been playing the app version additively 😂 still have my diecast taxi.
I think it would be interesting to see a multiplayer crazy taxi, but the way they describe the multiplayer aspect kinda leads me to believe the game could only exist as a live service. I'm not necessarily opposed to that, but seeing how many games have already gone that way does kinda make that idea exhausting to think about.
The fact of the matter is that Crazy Taxi needs to evolve for it to thrive. I think a battle royale game is a step in the right direction for the franchise and I am so hyped to see it come back.
This game is one of my bigest reason to buy a dreamcast back in 1998. Played it first at the arcade and hoping that it will come to home console, so I bought the dreamcast when it released and that was the best decision I've made till this day, this game came first to dreamcast. I wish I can join the development team to recreate this magic but I can't speak japanese at all

English subtitles would be nice. This should be on the American youtube channel too! Crazy Taxi was big in the US and it's 25th anniversary is a big deal.

Best selling Crazy Taxi game is first game who sold 1,8M copies (1,1M in USA, 500k in UK, 120k in Japan), and Crazy Taxi series sold 2,7M copies total, which mean it sold less even than Super Monkey Ball. It is super niche franchise. If new Crazy Taxi game sell 1M copies it will be a HUGE success.

It is good to have new game approach. But it would be good there is also a classic mode which player can play offline. In multiplayer mode, it would be interesting if we can create a sandbox where we can compete with our friends to be the top of the game

The bits of footage of 01:58 denote a severe lack of color saturation. Crazy Taxi needs a lot more color: Make the colors punchy, vibrant, affirmative. Something akin to Sunset Overdrive. The original trilogy (Crazy Taxi 1, 2 & 3) exuded so much life with its colors, design and art style, that they made their cities exude even more life than a game like GTA5, while using infinitely less resources and much weaker hardware.
You could definitely make that argument with 3 because of the neon lights, but I would not call the first two games “brightly colored.” Many of the environments are impossibly constructed race car track cities. They needed to be designed that way to make it a fun challenge to take passengers to their target before the time limit. Crazy Taxi has never been about realism, it’s always been an arcade sandbox.
Thank you SEGA, Japan needs to stop giving legendary games to western developers, so give Golden Axe and Bare Knuckle/streets of rage to a japanese team too!

The game looks very generic from its art style. I had expected more outlandish and bombastic graphics and style. I don't want an open-world Crazy Taxi either. I am worried about this.
