At that photo where Motty and Ruvi(?) hold paper cups - there's a blessing written on Motty's cup (the first 2 lines):
    "Baruch shehecheyanu, ve-kiy'manu, ve-higi'anu la-zman hazeh".
"Blessed are You, Who has granted us life, and sustained us, and allowed/let us [to] arrive at this time".
It's a famous Jewish blessing of praise, it's usually said on special occasions (at the beginnings of Jewish holidays each year, the first performance of certain mitzvot in a year, purchasing/putting on for the first time a new dress, eating a first fruit of each kind in every year, buying significant possessions, etc.). On these occasions we usually derive pleasure or benefit, but we cannot fully enjoy without praising the Lord - because all of these things came from Him.
For Motty - releasing a first album is a very special, a long-awaited occasion, so he praises the Lord for making this happen.
Of course, the name of G-d and His titles weren't written on those cups - in order not to mention them in vain (and not to let them get thrown away to a garbage by coffee-drinkers, has ve-shalom).

THE ENGLISH TEXT OF THE INTERVIEW (use it for Google Translate, if you need to):
    The song "Ve-yehi Rachameyhu":
"- I remember that a friend sent [it] to me. He said - “this song’s going to become a big hit”. And... I heard it after that too, in Beri Weber’s album. It was a... an album, kind of zitz-type. He had, right?
    - Yes. Yes-Yes.
    - This kind of albums... And I heard it and... got into [it]... And every event actually, every event I’d been coming to... I remember a brit of... The Moyshe’s brother did a brit. Yom-Tov, right? Did a brit in Jerusalem and I was singing this song. And everyone got very much excited. And Huna’s telling me: “What a song!”, Huna Deitch was there and said to me: “What a song!”. In brief, we came. Since that it went viral. There was a video that came out [from that day].
    - And since then you’ve flown up...
    - Yes, from then on - the sky’s the limit.
    - There was a video you did together with Schnitzler in some hotel that flew everywhere.
    - It means, if we can say that Hershi Segal had discovered you musically, this song - catapulted you. Since this song we’ve known - “Gentlemen, there’s someone new here”.
    - Definitely.
    - The composer himself said that he [Motty], he had advertised this song.
    - Eli Beer.
    -Right.
-He is Litvak, right? From America.
    - It’s what is known, I don’t know him personally.
    - Yes-yes.
    - But he’s got a Hasidic soul, according to this song.
    - Yeah, according to this song, of course.
Motty Steinmetz, a live broadcast... "

      The song "El haNaar Hazeh":
"- We’re in a live broadcast, “Motsash Chai”, for those who’re joining us on Radio Kol Chai. We’re launching here officially the first album of one of the biggest Jewish singers in the world, Motty Steinmetz, a guy from Bnei Brak who’s gone the furthest in music without releasing a disc.
We’ve started with a chronology, the chronology order. We’ll play the whole album and will talk about it in a while. The first song was “ilan”, the song that wasn’t published, and after that “Ve-yehi Rachameyhu”. And then came Rechnitz...
      - Yes. Rechnitz, in fact, it’s...
Let’s say, “Ve-yehi Rachameyhu” got published somewhere in Elul, Elul... 4 and a half years ago, maybe almost 5. Ok. And then, in Heshvan I met 2 friends from New York in Israel, and... one of them brought me there, brought me to some Vizhnitz Dinner in America. And I’d already been with Ruvi, so he told me: “I’ve got some guy, his name is Yossi Rubin - he will help you in New York. You’re going to New York and he’ll help you [there]”. On Thursday there was a Bar Mitzvah there, too. I met Yossi Rubin and he said: “You know what, on Shabbat there will be Bar Mitzvah - for Rechnitz’s nephew - in Los Angeles. What will you say? Will you come? Try your luck”. So, I’m flying to Los Angeles. And already, on the way from the airport I’m in the car with Shira Choir. They sent us some song. And the one we are going to meet has asked us to learn it. So we put a hand on this to rehearse this song. Ok, so we arrived to his home. There were me, Falkowitz, Moshe Mendlowitz - all who sang this song. So in that way this song was formed, right at that place: Rechnitz is sitting on a sofa, we’re surrounding him. On Sunday there was a Bar Mitzvah.
      - You’re singing to Rechnitz, he’s on sofa, you are singing to him.
      - Singing. And he’s saying: “One more time... No, no, this way the song goes, this way you do the song”.
And on Sunday there was a Bar Mitzvah... of his nephew, actually. What’s the story about this song? His mother, the mother of Rechnitz’s brother - the wife of Recnitz’s brother...
      - His sister-in-law...
      - Rechnitz’s sister-in-law had passed away half a year before that. And... He wanted to release a song... to support a family and that... And we sang it on Bar Mitzvah, and everybody got moved by this so much. A month after that, when I had come again to New York, we filmed and I recorded, recorded it. I came in to a studio in New York in Borough Park and recorded this song together with Falkowitz and Moshe Mendlowitz, and we filmed. It came out about a month later and began to spread.
      - You didn’t feel connected to it [this song] at first, right?
      - Yes, at the beginning it was very hard for me [to deal] with this song. The change of rhythm there, and the diapason - this song has a very wide diapason. It took me.. Let’s say, it took something like.. 2 years for me to get to feel connected to this song. I’d been coming to events and people were requesting - “El haNaar”, we want “El haNaar”!
      - On a Brit of my son you sang it.
      - Yes, right, right.
      - And.. at some moment I saw that the audience just really... loved this song. And I got into it and I really love it right now.
      - We’ll talk in a moment about Rechnitz... between this and “Veseorev”. But let’s give a few seconds to this song... Motty Steinmetz, a live broadcast, “Motsash Chai”. The history [is happenning] on Radio Kol Chai!"

      The song "Tseno Ureno":
" - “Tseno Ureno” for “Ateret Shlomo” [Yeshiva] - which is one of the most viewed videos in a Hasidic music of all times. Close to 2, more than 2 million views already, right?
      - Right.
      - And a quarter...
      - What?
      - 2 and a quarter millions views.
      - [Tell] a little bit about this song.
      - This is a song that I... I met in New York with a Rav haGaon Berl Sorockin, the Head of the Yeshiva of this “Ateret Shlomo” empire. It combines an astronomic number of bochurim who sit and study, and he sponsors them. And yeshivas, something like 6-7 thousands students [talmidim]. And... he very much wanted us to do something together in honour of a yeshiva.
And so I talked... In fact, the one who produced this song is Yossi Rubin, he produces this album too. He went to Yossi Green, brought him... The Head of the Yeshiva asked me to sing certain words like “Ateret Shlomo” (“the Solomon’s crown”). Yossi Green composed this song. I came to record it. And we filmed it - you can see it in a video. And... you’ll be surprised to hear it - even though the song, in fact, is a “niche” song, it means it’s not a song that I released...
      - It’s not such a hit.
      - Still people ask me to sing it in 70% of the events, they want this song.
      - Why has it gained so many views, this video?
      - People love it, first of all...
      - Everything that Motty does - Baruch haShem, people love it very much and look for it.
      - By the way, “El haNaar” has passed 2 million views too.
I must switch to and run forward, because in the next hour it will be exposed here - an earthquake in music - a new album is going to be exposed in the next hour."

      The song "Vaseorev":
" - We’re running on your history towards the album. The king... is together with you. An amazing and a terrific union of both of you. You love each other so much... Mordechai Ben David and you... “Veseorev”, “Ptah Lanu Shaar”, “Etz Chayim” and the other duets... Tell us a bit about this connection [of yours with him], Motty.
      - So I’m continuing on my journey in America. So, the first time, in fact, that I came to America was in Heshvan [October-November]. This one was already in Kislev. I came to New York in Kislev, to Hanukkah with Shloimi Rechnitz. And there I met the king Mordechai Ben David. I don’t need to say to you how excited I got... to have met him. In my childhood I listened... The disc I listened to the most in my childhood was “Efshar Letaken”- I know every single note there, and each “silsul” [voice curl] of Mordche - the way he “mesalsel” the song. I know it by heart.
So I just sat next to him at Shabbat’s table with the family, 10 people. That whole Shabbat I spent near him. At Motzei Shabbat [a night after Shabbat ends] Shloimi played to us this song. And then... this way... there... this duet was born - me and Mordche. He brought there someone, a keyboard player, we checked everything. And Mordche agreed then to do this duet. And this was... such a great excitement. Mordche has agreed to do a duet with me! And since then I’ve already done... recorded with him... I’d say, 7 songs. 7 songs I’ve recorded with him. In the last [his] album too, of course, I did “Psach Luni Shaar” and... “Ets Chayim”, of course. And “Rachamona”. “VeAmart Belvavech”.
      - By the way, Motty Cohen from “Maadaniat Zehava” [Delicacy Store in Bnei Brak] told me - he was on air here this week. A week ago he went out to kumzitz with Mordche. He asked Mordche: “Who is your successor?” And he said: “Motty Steinmetz”.
      - Oh, really?
      - The news from yesterday.
      - So now you have a “kosher” stamp from Mordechai Ben David. And you’ve closed a deal on herring too, everything’s ok.
Well done to Mordche, but where are you?
It’s like he’s on low keys and you’re on high ones, right? It’s like a complement.
      - Yes. Mordche tells me he sings in my key. In my key, that is an octave lower than mine. I sing an octave above him. And let’s say, the singer I enjoy the most to sing with today is Mordechai Ben David. Itzchak Fuchs sings in this diapason too. But with Mordche it’s...
      - We’ve been in London - a big [Hasidic] Dinner 2 months ago, they did there many duets, Motty and Mordche. It was just amazing.
      - I’m running towards one more thing. As was said, in the next hour - the new album. Tell your friends. A world premiere of the Motty Steinmetz’s stunning album. Here, at a live broadcast. Am Yisrael, wake up, wake your neighbours up, wake everyoooone uuuup! Bichler’s recording everything I’m doing here, what will be?"

      The song "Keayal Ta'arog":
" - And again... HaMenagnim, Kumzing.
      - “Keayal Ta’arog”.
      - Where’s “Keayal Ta’arog”? How have we gotten to this song, I don’t know, even by mistake. “Keayal Ta’arog”.
And again. Nothing we can do - Motty Steinmetz comes, turns everything over. He takes a song - which on regular days is cool, but it wouldn’t have been such a hit [without Motty], c’mon, with all due respect...
      - In fact, I got this song... Moyshe Roth sent me this song. And I said to him - “ok, all right, we’ve heard it”. I didn’t really get excited about this song. I told him: “Send me something else”. But that was what they had, so I sang it.
      - Who composed it?
      - Shmuel Yefet.
      - Oh, Shmuel Yeet. Sorry, Shmuel, for what I’ve said. It’s... It’s a good song! But it’s not the biggest “bomb” that has ever come out.
      - Right.
      - But you upgraded it.
      - Listen, Baruch haShem, it became a hit, a really great hit! And every event that I used to come to - it was a “must” song, I just had to sing it. It’s also a Siyata diShmaya [Aramaic, “the help of Heaven]. Sometimes you’re not sure if something will succeed or not...
      - Let’s listen to it...
      - HaShem [G-d] rules this world.
      By the way, Shmuel Yefet...
      - What?
      - By the way, Shmuel Yefet also composed us a song for a great duet that’s going to come out soon, with the help of G-d. Of course, we cannot...
      - Ruvi’s saying you to [stay silent]... What’s happened, Ruvi? Why are you making stress here?
      - We can’t reveal... reveal...
      - Everything will be revealed today, Motty. By 01.00am everything will have been revealed! He has run away from this studio! Where are you running to?"

      The song "Shoifchim Lev Camayim":
" - I’m finishing this hour with the next song. We won’t hear here the “Etz Chayim” and your other songs... I’m finishing [the hour] with “Shoifchim Lev Camayim” - which is so beautiful! The melody is by Reb Chayim Banet, Ruvi’s father. The arrangement is by Ruvi Banet. You haven’t done many [arrangements] to him, right? You haven’t had much musical collaboration between you both... Tell a bit about how you met, Ruvi and you... and Motty. He gave a credit to Segal. How did it get to you?
      - I saw Motty... I used to do... There was a series of [Hasidic] Dinners for Vizhnitz that I used to do for them. In one of the Dinners I was told that there was some avrech who sang nicely. And I went to rehearsals, took Motty to an event, you remember. And there I enjoyed him very much and was moved - like everyone who sees Motty. After that there was a Dinner at Seret Vizhnitz in Haifa, something very big. I told them: “There’s someone new here. You should take him”. I remember that I brought him there - and everyone was talking about Motty, they went crazy. It was a talk of the day.
      - And how did the professional, a business deal come?
      - And that’s all. I understood that there was a big potential and we decided... I said to him: “Let’s take you out from Vizhnitz to a big world. Let’s get out to a big world. Let’s make a disc”.
      - And you’re at the beginning of the world.
      - With the help of G-d.
      - The end of the first hour of this dramatic and historical broadcast in a Hasidic music for all music lovers. Motty Steinmetz... is releasing a new album, his first album, right after news.
      - This song - “Shoifchim Lev Camayim”...
      - Yes.
      - “Shoifhim Lev Camayim”. I remember, one of the first things, when we started to work with Motty... Now everyone wants Motty to sing. Back then, when Motty just started, he said to me: “Can you make it for me to sing some solo at your father’s choir?”
      - And here’s a solo. What a song!

Motty got so radiant while talking about his cooperation with MBD. It really warms my heart to know and to see in this interview that some people can render and show a genuine support and be sincerely happy for their friends, just as reb Ruvi Banet does here before our eyes. It's a real, big blessing to have such creative and business partner beside you. I think, Motty and Ruvi were meant for each other by G-d, true soulmates, pure example of bromance. Friendship is much treasured in the Torah.

I knew you would notice that change in Motty's face 🙂👍. Right at the moment they started to talk about "the king" MBD, Motty's face became... I call it "gentle". He was so happy to recall all these precious moments of his life, feeling a genuine love and a great appreciation and respect for MBD.

@@Velgaxxx I remember, there was a concert where MBD and MS sang together. I think, it was that concert which Radio Kol Chai had organized in 2019 as a public protest following the cancelling of a Haifa concert (after the Afula scandal). MBD was standing on a stage alone - moments before Motty came up. MBD began to praise Motty in front of thousands of people, saying words from the bottom of his heart. I don't remember all of his words, I do recall him saying "Ahuvi" about Motty. "Ahuvi" means "my love", "my beloved one" ☺. I never heard a man talking like this about another man - and certainly not among the men of our modern generation. Motty came up to the stage a moment later - one could see on his face how moved he had been by MBD's kind words.
What has Motty done to impress this man who is 40 older than him - 2 generations older than him! It's certainly not MS's singing skills that did this, but his personality and his soul...

    • @Velgaxxx
      @Velgaxxx Рік тому +1

@@moonlightwatcher9162 Incredible, this information is precious. "Ahuvi"... Indeed, how can this be explained?.. I think, by a number of factors. Klal Yisroel is a special nation. It's not in vain that the Lord has chosen them. We have great examples, for instance, Dovid HaMelech. He was an amazing person, combining in himself bravery, he was merciless to the enemies of HaShem and at the same time he was a musician, a poet, he also loved his son Absalom bunches, even after he tried to oust his own father, when he learned that he was killed he was weeping, his words make me cry every time I say them "O my son, my son, Absalom, wish I could die for you". He also suffered immensely when he was punished by G-d for taking Bathsheba and their child died. He also couldn't easily forget his first wife Michal. He also was a true, reliable friend to Jonathan. So, I consider these noble qualities as a mark of Am Yisrael. As time goes by, people slowly degenerate, it's a fact, especially ppl without G-d in their lives. This is how I explain it to myself, religious Jews have excellent instances from the Torah Hakdosha to look up to. They appreciate hospitality, friendship, trust, generosity, they are sensitive and emotional and aren't ashamed of it. And in the case of MBD and Motty, Motty has a true Heavenly talent, talent has a magnetic power; he is naturally charming, respectful, delicate, got fantastic, rare voice. They are two creative individuals, who appreciate each other. Ugh, words fail me 😄 their souls sound in unison.

After watching it again, I'd like to correct myself. "Abayta!" was said by Michael Schnitzler, actually 🙂😁. He understood the hotel worker was going to ask them to stop singing, so Schnitzler joked: "Abayta!" - saying that to himself and to his friends. The hotel worker himself talked to them in a polite way (I can't hear well what he says).
According to the signboard on the wall there ("Alrov Mamilla Avenue") - this is probably one of the 2 hotels situated on Mamilla Avenue in Jerusalem.
