- Testing my Federal Signal EOWS 1212 tornado siren.
This siren is from Inwood, Iowa where it was replaced by a Federal Signal Eclipse by Derek Thompson. After a year long process, I was able to go and pick this siren up last Tuesday. The siren was tested in steady, wail, alternate wail, and Westminster chimes. I hope to get more videos of this siren doing voice and other tones soon.

3:34 Alternate Wail
4:13 Westminster Chime
Thanks
i love the alternate wail on this thing xD
I just love when EOWS sirens do HiLo and Westminster Chimes lol
At the beginning, you can hear a T-bolt
I love how you casually have a Eows 1212 in your backyard.
his neighbors love him
Pretty cool that you got the siren, and the SiraTone controller with it! Nice video!
+MOStormChaser Atlas Sound makes a very similar horn and driver. You need to buy the horn and the driver separate though but the driver screws into the throat of the horn with ease. Atlas also makes a very similar 100 watt driver as well.
I have 3 horns and 100 watt drivers from mexico and they work great
nice 1212, also like the tbolt startup in the beginning.
📢🚨📣
that cat was like "o heck no!"
Whoever placed this siren here clearly wants to see peoples ear drums blow out
0:12 alert 🚨
2:03 attack/wail 🚨
3:34 alternative wail 🚨 (for a short time)

Lol Westminster chimes sounds like ice cream truck
0:11-1:46 alert
2:03-3:17 attack
3:34-3:54 alternate wail
4:13 westminster chime
I remember seeing this video when I was 7 and was like "I want that."
The only EOWS 1212 I have seen personally was at Wall Drug Store. I believe they use them as Giant Voice systems.
I'm proud.
I don't think that is safe at ground level :P
Lol
Yay! Iowa siren! And a t bolt!
Can you do a complete overview of the siren?
They have one of those on top of my local church but it only has one level of horns
That's not a siren. That's an electronic church bell. Learn your facts.
what do have powering all of that ? separate power amps? one large power amp? etc
The only time I've ever seen 1212s was when I was at Wall Drug. They used them as a Giant Voice system.
I wouldve played rick astly never gonna give you up through those sirens
Why was it replaced? It doesn't even look bad at all?
The Chimes sound like its in HD!
4:09 i had to put the time stamp for Westminster chimes
idk why
Geez the horns on that thing are huge. Bigger than a 2t22 or 3t22. Also what's the difference between a 2t22 and a 3t22
HK terminator 3T22s have solenoids, which can be used for doing tones such as hi-lo and pulse, while the 2t22 doesn't.
Does anybody know the model number for these Atlas reentrant horns/drivers?
acording to my PA Guru, we dont have a model # but its a 31 inch Atlas horn.. the only one they make, with a 85 Hz driver.. thats how low it can go... 85hz. they start to roll of at 150 hz they are filtered out in the system at 200hz with a high pass filter. when they’re 30 years old, that phenolic diaphragm usually develops stress cracks and can fail, then the voice coil jumps the gap and it’s done.
A huge issue was the flexible lead out wires breaking.
@@prestige2000rider Thank you very much! I appreciate the useful info!
RIP cat at 0:12
Ass fuck
R.I.P cat
Ben Barrera he's not dead, just Deaf
@John Schuster R.I.P your sense of humor
Why the siren is sounded in the ground? It will deafen anyone standing nearby! First, put the siren on top of a pole!
you can put it on a pole for him and pay for the cranes
dont put it on a pole, it is illegal if the pole is above 6ft
+bitch lasagna there is also a thing called hearing protection
@@bitchlasagna4720 what the hell are you talking about? Most sirens are mounted 50 feet in the air
@@seanjuth Pretty sure they mean it'd be illegal if it's a 6ft RESIDENTIAL pole, not a COMMERCIAL pole.
To me, this kinda sounds like a dual tone ATI with a windup and a winddown.
I had a question how far can you hear the eows 1212
Like from 2 miles away i think (theres no sirens where i live so i dont realy know :p)
I'm wondering if you're able to plug a microphone into the control box and speak through it and this siren amplifies your voice
I’ve heard that Atlas Sound still makes those drivers, and I really want to know the model number of them.
Sam's Channel531 Federal Signal SiraTone EOWS 1212
Benjaminnn ¿ he didn’t ask for the name of the siren. We all know it’s an EOWS* 1212 running on a SiraTone Controller, but he’s wondering about the speaker drivers
Federal 2000 oh lol
They're not made anymore
atlas dr42
The only EOWS in Wichita, a nice change from the ATI's and Thunderbolts. The COW should get EOWS's and not those crappy ATI's.
Do you still test this EOWS?
There was an 812 up in Burrton until it was replaced with a 2001-130 a couple of years ago.
i know
If they made a digital version of the 2T22, it would look like this.
Yep, without a doubt.
Exactly!
The et22
ET22 Is a perfect name!
Thank you!
ITS HUGE!
I want some of these to buy. Just the large bell horns, don't care for the other parts. Can anyone help me??
they don't make it anymore but you order it on special request
Ricky Sankar The horns and drivers are still manufactured by Atlas Sound. The horn model is the DR-54 and you can pair it with any driver you want. The ones used in this 1212 are 100W compression drivers. There are newer models of the 100W driver, but it still does the same exact thing. The model you are looking for is the AS100N.

EOWS 1212 siren test.
12:00 siren test.
Steady and alert, wail, alternate wail, alternate wail high low (hi-lo),and westminster chime and chime siren test.
Eows1212 is also called electronic 3t22 because it sounds like high-pitched 3t22s.
Nice electronic outdoor warning sytem
0:10 i hear thunderbolt siren idk what is it like 1003 or 1000
And alt wail is epic
How old is the siren
Yep
Why is it on the ground?
1212 chimes are decent
Scared me, when that started...!
0:10 thunder bolt
I heard it as well!
That’s a healthy siratone!
Yassssssssss!
I heard these speakers were still made. I found it on the Siren Board once... If anyone has the link please let me know.
To clarify I don't mean the siren itself, I mean the speaker driver.
Why is there a rando, siren on the sidewalk it should be on a post like the rest of the highly likely to be millions of sirens In kansas
nice do you still have this siren?
Yea he does.
thats cool.
What's Grand
What's going ground level I should use
This seems can be confused with 2T22B and Master Blaster ES2000.
2T22B: Horn placement.
ES2000: Horn shape.
How did you get the 1212 I want one too
i heard a thunderbolt siren!
That's just this siren. They have a bit of Thunderbolt in their blood! (;
When FS made these, they wanted this to be similar in tone to a Thunderbolt. These were like the Thunderbolt Replacement. That's why the High-Low tone on an EOWS siren sounds very similar to a Thunderbolt 1003 in High-Low.
the EOWS the only good electronic siren
lightnindash 3804 agreed
Agreed
My only beef with EOWSs are that the SiraTrols go bad rather quickly.
@@flyoversirens3704 the hell is a siratroll?
Isn't it siratone?
@@ezequielrodriguez2643 It's the radio they initially used. The controller does also have a Siratone cabinet to generate the, well, siren tone.
Even Hilo sounds aggressing!!
On dual tone ones are there certain speakers that sound the low tone and the others the high tone, or do they all sound dual tone?
Emily Powell This works very similar to how a 3T22 Works. The Lower Speakers sound the Lower Tone, and the Upper Speakers sound the Upper Tone
4:14 *chime starts*
At 0:12 either a dog or a fox ran in the backyard
Make one with hi lo for me please
i heard a thunderbolt 1003 in the bachground
Twas a 1000T, Witchita has no 1003s
3:45 Chicago sirens
Fifthcell Chicago has FS-2001's and Modulators also. FS-2001's do Fast Wail and the Mods do Alternate Wail for the Wail activation tones.
it,s good
I feel bad for the cat
¡Sé jodió el gato! Poor thing!
Cool!
the chimes were out of tune but nice
it totally owned the t-bolt in the background
I love t-bolt

this thing is brand new!!!!
I heard a Tbold in the background
The last one sounds like an ice cream truck
LOL. "Mommy I want a dollar" Mom: "Sure" *kid goes outside and gets picked up by tornado*
i hear a tbolt somewhere
How do people just own these things
Noel lee snyder With money
RyanJamesDean thanks a lot captain obvious
Noel lee snyder you're welcome
Siren's actually seem to have a terrible amplifier, if those are Atlas DR-54's with a good PA amplifier they can actually sound pretty decent, we have those at the sports field here and they really sound good even with music, you should get a good PA amp and try them out!
it’s the microphone of the camera not being able to handle the volume
Eows 612
How much did you pay for it?
Super Signal $3000
RyanJamesDean dang, that's a lot of money. Was it in working condition and with its original controller?
Wich one is older the 1212 or the 612?
They're the same age, just different models.
my neighborhood used to have a yellow eows 1212
I say 612
WynnCat Hawaiian?
The 115 and 408 was the first EOWS siren in production
The timer for the siren is trash
Wow that's lowed
Austin Pierce loud
No more
Too bad it couldn’t save Dorothy
CRINGE!!!!!
Lol
@@thequeenofcringethequeenof8916 no
Chicago anybody
In all honesty, the 1212 should’ve been the mainstream EOWS model because the Black brick 612 and 812 with horns on one side spinning in a circle just looks ridiculous
Agreed. The EOWS 1212 was also more efficient than the EOWS 408, 612, and 812 due to it actually getting the sound around while using no moving parts. It was also a mistake for Federal Signal to discontinue the EOWS 115 since they still could've been made using some DSA parts.
The 612 gets about 4X the range of a 1212
0:13 dog got scared
cat
LOL 0:12 random Kitty
No it's siratone 1216!
+SoundMaster 391 I Make mistakes.
+SoundMaster 391 yep. Seen one in winward.
and their getting replaced by Modulators, soon the mod virus is gonna start.
I know, the thing is Hawaii upgrades the Siratones to UV Controllers, then a year later it still works hard, then HI-EMA replaces the siren with a Mod.
But if hawaii install 8032B's, they wouldn't so much coverage gap fillers.
but the speakers will be broken! :(
Why would my drivers be broken?
RyanJamesDean The low pitch is soft. WAY too soft.
+RyanJamesDean if they shoot them it would not work
+RyanJamesDean wat a min its looks like a 3tt2
ryan franz kind of
all sirens should have the chime feature to test and not interrupt
thunderbolt before this siren
4:12 CHIME
