That’s a great cart. One of the best flip cart designs I’ve seen on the web.
Thank you
First one I've seen with the sides having support . Best design yet .
Glad you like it! Thank you!
So true about being tired. Fatigue is when mistakes and accidents happen. Glad you called it a night.
Yup, unfortunately due to my 9 to 5 I don't get to build until after the kids are in bed. Thanks for watching!
Extending the base and adding side shelves to make the whole body more rigid is a great modification. Also love the implementation of the power inlet vs a hardwire long cord. Great design!
Thank you!
I appreciate the “damn it I messed up” face. We all do it. Some more than others. One day, it’ll go as smooth as the UA-camrs do it
Lol, yea I could have edited the mistakes out to make it go as smooth as the UA-camrs. But I am human and wanted to show that.
@@RedemptionWoodcraftas a total newbie to woodworking, I very much appreciate this
Love the old school Ryobi tools.
Thank you woodworking Jim Halpert!
Love the design, I've been needing to make one of these. Love the old school blue Ryobi drill too! Mine is still going strong as well!
Right on!
This is exactly what i need for my new thicknesser! Great video. Thank you for detailing the build so well. I agree with many other comments. Best flip top bench i have seen - and i’ve looked at a lot!
Off to the workshop to build your design today! 🇬🇧
Thank you!
Thank you! Go make some sawdust!
I've built 2 flip carts so far but I have to admit that I like your side storage idea. I think I'm going to add that to mine.
Excellent video!
Thank you!
Best 'measure twice, cut once' example I have seen on youtube in a while! Sorry you had to go thru that, but we all have done it at least once! Nice build though.
Lol, I thought that I had! Thank you!
the RV plug is smart - great solution
Thank you
Awesome job. Love the RV plug!!!!!!
Awesome build. Good marriage with Fisher's flip top!
Thank you!
This is wild! Love seeing another garage shop, and one that looks like it’s used to house cars!
It really is! My wife's ride lives in the garage. If I have a large build I'll park it on the driveway but I have to be able to move it in if a storm blows up. Storm season here in Texas includes hail.
Thanks for watching!
Awesome.....I will modify mine to include the plug receptical and shelves. WELL DONE.
Thank you! Glad you liked it!
Love the inlet idea. Also like the way it nests under your table saw. Very nice build.
Thank you very much!
I really liked this build. I have the same thickness planer, a Delta table saw and a Ridgid oscillating sander. Your design is so smooth and practical. Plus the one thing that I have never seen (except that I have bought one to have power outside of my shed) perfect for the application you had the foresight to add it to your project. Going to steal your ideas.
Thank you very much! Steal away!
Well done!!
Thank you!
I agree with the others, best flip cart design I've seen. The storage on the sides probably gives it a lot more strength, and that has worried me about other designs. Definitely going to make this one
Thank you!
Like the shelves on the side!!
Thank you
Looking forward to more new videos. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Great job. Going to add the power outlet to my flip top. Keep the videos coming. 👍🏼
Thanks! Will do!
Thank you for posting this video . Been researching flip carts 3 days now .. your design looks easier than the other videos . 👍
You're welcome! Glad you liked it! Thank you for watching!
Yes get you a track saw. I am new to wood working and just purchased a makita with 2 55” tracks for a cabinet job I am doing, and man what a difference it makes. Made me look at my table saw like, you peasant lol.
Awesome cart!
Yea, I keep watching all the cool thing people do with them. It's on the to buy list. Thanks for watching!
Great design, lots of storage space too.
Thank you!
Love the inlet plug vs using the extension!! Nice job
Thank you!
excellent design!
Thank you very much!
Excellent build
Thank you!
Nice design! Love the power inlet. It means there's no twisting around of the internal wiring, so it should last just about forever.
Thank you. There is a tiny movement of the internal wiring but it's can't be more than 180 degrees. So, yea it should last forever.
Nicely Done! Best Flip Cart design I have seen! Looking forward to getting your design sheets. I Love the way you tucked the cord away, and the flip stop and lock down is way better than a few knobs and some eyebolts. Your construction inspectors remind me of my two inspectors when I was your age. I look forward to more videos of your ideas in the future. Keep up the great work! 😉
Blessings
Papa......
Thank you! I look forward to hopefully providing many videos in the future and, I'm just going to let the inspectors discuss among themselves. Lol
Nice cart. Love your design!
Thank you!
Very nice design! And kudos for using dadoes and 'normal' screws. Too many people use pocket screws these days for no good reason.
Thank you! Yea, I thought about doing pocket holes for about 2 seconds. But, didn't see any need to hide the screws since this is a shop cart.
Very nice cart build. With a 2nd tool bolted to the top I could see that it would counter-balance with the planer very nicely for the tool rotation job.
Thank you! Trying to find a new project so I can buy the new tool for the other side.
Your Quality Control team is outstanding! Cheers
Thank you! Cheers!
Hell yes! Great build!
Glad you like it!
Excellent job and well thought out. Also great job on production being your first you tube video. Keep up the great work. Looking forward for what you make next. I actually work for a camper builder and have been using inlets on most of my modular builds but you are right. First person I have seen to incorporate on UA-cam.
Thank you so much! Using inlets makes things much cleaner.
This is the first time I've seen the power inlet, and it's pretty genius actually! Well done. Subscribed!
Thank you!
I've seen quite a few flip-top tool carts before, but this is easily the best design I've encountered.
On an unrelated note, get yourself an impact driver. Once you do, you'll wonder why you didn't do it years ago. I got one 3-4 years ago, and I'm still kicking myself for taking so long to get one.
Thank you!
It's on the tools to buy list!
Great job! Looks like a sturdy and extremely useful planer/ tbd cart. Keep putting out vids and never stop making sawdust!
Thanks, will do!
Great idea. I love the flip top with only one tool. I plane to get the 735 and have it flip under and slide under my SawStop (tight on room).
Thank you! It helps a lot with space saving!
That’s a great design. I hope to see a lot more projects just like it. 🤜
Thank you!
Like the design! The side storage gives great strength to the side to side stress. You really thought that one out! I saw another comment about you getting an impact driver, I absolutely love the Ridgid one from the orange box store. It has a lifetime service agreement and free batteries for life. I had a chuck go bad on a drill/driver, they ended up sending my an entire new drill/driver, battery, and charger. No charge! The one that went bad had lasted for years.
Thank you!
I've been looking at the drill/driver set in few different brands trying to decide what the get. The Roybi drill I'm using is still going strong but is over 12 years old. I know it's just a matter of time. One of the other things I'm looking at is what other tools I might need use the same battery. I'm at a good point to change eco systems and would prefer to keep everything on the the same batteries. But the only tools I see myself using regularly that use a battery is the drill, driver, trim router, and maybe a multi tool. The lifetime battery replacement from Ridgid does interest me.
Well done !! Smart design and well thought out... love that it slides perfectly under the table saw. One word to the wise... jumping up and down after each cup of coffee helps with caffeine kick-in !!
Thanks for sharing. Be well.
I'll have to try that, lol! Thanks!
Nice cart. Thanks for leaving the mistakes in; trying to get started with this as well, and it seems with every project I find a new way to lose.
Thank you. I think mistakes can add a little humor after the fact. So frustrating in the moment though.
Nice design. Looks like I have another winter project. Been thinking about something like this for my drum sander and jointer.
Thank You!
Love the format! Kinda has a bourbon moth vibe which is a good thing! I am running out of space in my garage workshop and this is such a great idea for my planer! Thanks for the awesome content!
Thank you! I am very much inspired by bourbon moth!
Well done!
Thank you
Great design.
Thank you!
Great job!
Thanks!
Very nice! I’ll definitely be building this one.
Thank you
I always use my Freud plywood router bits to make dados. They are undersized to make perfect dados for the most common cabinet grade plywoods.
I'll have to look into those. That's for watching!
Good job bro. Finally someone that has a shop like mine 🙌
Thank you! Gotta work with what we have.
Nice job, I built one a few months ago, it changes your life. LOL especially in a small shop.
It sure does! Thank you!
Great job buddy
Thank you!
Now that was a dam good project! Nice job!
Thank you!
I’m looking forward to your content. Keep up the great work. That flip cart is sweet. Welcome to UA-cam!
Thank you! I peeped your page. I'll have to check out your videos when I have time!
Love this design! I’ve been looking for a design for my scroll saw and oscillating sander and I believe I will follow your lead on this. Well done! Also, cool having your kids in the video, adds a nice personal touch 😊
Thank You! I'm trying to get plans made and my store setup by the end of next week.
The kids get a kick out of seeing themselves in the videos.
The plans are now available at this link: go.redemptionwoodcraft.com/FlipTopCart
Very Nice! Easy to follow, and it has a good pace. I really like the the cart as well. 5*s
Thank you!
You've earned a subscriber. I can't wait to see what you build next
Thank you!
Very nice design.
Thank you!
Don’t forget folks! You too can do this! After spending thousands on tools that make the work look easy. Ive been doing this for over 15 years, never got a cab saw, no point, too expensive, plus, my job site TS does fine! That planner alone is between $600-$900 bux, the saw is in the thousands, that plywood, looks like 3/4” - 1” thick is about 60 bux a panel. Or, just look for one that someone built.
I guess this is more for people like me and not so much for beginners. I have the means, I just don’t need to. Now this cart… yeah, I would totally build it!!! Looks kick ass!
Remember! I only bitched about the fancy tools, the video itself is kick ass! Great job! Remember, rectangle! Not square! 😂 good thing you got 3 tries!
😂 Glad you liked it! Hopefully I'll be able to get more fancy tools for my future videos!
I think I might actually like it _more_ without a tool on the other side. Being able to tuck it away when not in use is very handy. I was trying to think of a way to do that with some kind of lift cart but this I think is even easier. Nice job.
Thank you. It also make a handy rolling table without the other tool.
Nice!
Thank you!
Take the dado blades, shims and spacers and lay them next to whatever wood you need to dado to get the correct size. Using the correct number of parts.
That's an awesome tip! I'll have to try it. Thank s for watching!
Awesome cart! Excellent motivation to do one for myself. Btw thank you for sharing your “rectangle” mistake. Believe me I have done the same thing, usually at the end of the day. I take the same approach as you - wrap it up for the day and try again the next.
Thank you!
Yup, the mistake plus my wife telling it was too late to be making that kind of noise, I was done! lol.
Nice work!
Thanks!
If you don’t make at least one mistake twice in a row, you aren’t trying! Well done. Nice build.
Lol, thank you!
I was thinking that flip bit looked familliar... I have one also :)
Great cart
Nice job man!
Thanks!
Nice build great video.
Thank You!
Awesome video!
Thank you Jenn!
"Who needs a fancy track saw? ... actually me. I want one" same
Great build! Also, congrats on such a successful start for your channel! This video is taking off!
Thank you so much! It has been a welcome surprise!
Really nice design. An idea to prevent long term copper fatigue due to the inside wire twisting with every flip is to mount the inlet on one end of the pipe instead of the cart housing. The pipe would need to extend a little beyond the housing but the inlet would still cap the pipe. Then the inlet turns with the top and the wire inside sees no movement at all. This way you could consider using solid wire.
Thank you!
I thought about trying something like that but the inlet is larger than the pipe and I didn't want a larger pipe.
Great cart! The audio and video quality are excellent.
Thank you kindly!
Love this man. I have a planer as well that I don't use often. Being able to store it, roll it, flip it and use is (could that be a new rap song??) under my table saw would be great! I might just have to build this. Thanks for the great video!
Thank you!
Great first Vid. Just subbed. I've made 6-10 of those carts and this is one of my favorite designs. Great humor and vid. Dig it.
Thank you! You never know how the humor is going to go over. Glad you liked it.
I like this design. My flip top doesn't have side shelves. I have the 735 planer and the Rigid horizontal belt sander.
Thank you!
Good job
Thanks
Orange wheels for the WIN
Gotta have the orange wheels!
Some of us would recommend you add descriptions and maybe links of the specialty tools and parts you used in the build. For instance, the rv receptacle, latches, etc.
Thank you for the suggestion! I'll start doing that!
two and a half minutes in and i can so relate 😂
Really good job. I like that cart and may make one similar to it. I also like that you don't have all the high end tools. Makes me feel more normal when I use my spade bits and other lower end tools. Nice editing of the video. Not sure I love the music background but you had it a a really good level.
Thank you!
Yup, you've got to work with what you have. Hopefully this side gig will afford me a way to upgrade over time.
Music is a tough thing to find the right songs.
I bought the cart that is desgned for this planer
As you discovered, 3/4” ≠ 18mm. Using a some of the off cuts (remember those squares?), a couple of tests cuts could’ve dialed in your dado stack for a perfect fit.
Thank you for the tip! I'll use that next time!
Well found this literally a day late. Built the fix this build that version. It’s nice, but this is the corvette version!
Thank you! Fix This Build That is one of the versions I drew inspiration from for this build.
Nice video! I like the idea of using an inlet plug.
Oh, and I had no problem saying, “that 10 times fast.” 😂
😁 Thank you!
Very cool great job and idea
Thank you very much!
Thank you
You just earned another Sub! Thanks
Awesome, thank you!
Great build. I think I’ll make a version of this for myself. Man, I wish Ryobi kept the blue livery for their tools. The bright lime green is kinda nauseating. Just subscribed. 🎉
Thank you! I do like the blue better.
Love the flip top cart! Could you possibly show us your workbench closer? The drawers and what us under the top? Thank you!
Thank you!
Sure! Stay tuned, a shop tour video is in my plan for 1st quarter this year. Honestly though the work bench is nothing special. It's just an open frame I threw together out of leftover 2x4s, the top is from an old dining table, and the drawers are salvage from when my parents had their cabinets redone. The only thing on it that is not scraps or salvage is the casters. Building a new one is also on my plan for the end of this year or the beginning of next.
Hi I great build lots of variation on themes. I like the idea of a removable flying lead. One thing though. Are the pins for the electrical connection in the receptacle or in the plug. Having a live lead with exposed pins, albeit shrouded, is a killer waiting to pounce especially with your two little ones about.
Thank you. The pins are in the inlet that I installed in the cart. They do not have power unless the cord is attached and in that case they are no longer exposed.
Instead of moving your rip fence over a hair, just pit a piece of painters tape along it to make it thicker That will usually do the trick.
Great tip! I'll have to try it! Thanks for watching!
My planer cart sits beside my bandsaw, so when I build a new one like yours, my side storage will be for bandsaw jigs. BTW, I already have the sander for the other side.
I made a flip top cart a few years ago. But I like yours a lot better. Thanks your giving me a new project. I love the side storage. Do you plan to or will you please post a cut list and plans with measurements that would be great. Once again love the cart and thank you foe the idea.
Thank you!
I'm working on setting up an online store that will have the plans bundled with the sketchup file.
The plans are now available at this link: go.redemptionwoodcraft.com/FlipTopCart
Nice work .
Thank you
Good job brother!
@@whatwouldwesleycook9759 thank you
Very nice, especially the wiring.
I’ve got the same planer and it’s too damn heavy to put away on a shelf or under a bench.
I’d like to pair it up w my miter on a flip cart. I just use the miter for rough cuts and don’t want/need a larger miter station. Just need to figure out some decent extension wings for the miter that wouldn’t get in the way of the planer.
@@Troutdreams thank you
I really enjoyed your video! It's a nice, clean design. I just subscribed to your channel. Have a great day!!
Thank you so much!
Looks amazing. I was looking at the plan to buy (I do believe in supporting content makers) but a heads up, $20 CDN for plans for one cart seemed kind of steep, considering other vid build plans came in around half that price. I appreciate the time and detail you put into the build. It looks great!
Thank you for watching and your feedback!
I like it! I am interested in plans when they are available
Thank you! I hope to have the plans finished and available in my store by the weekend. I'll keep you posted.
The plans are now available at this link: go.redemptionwoodcraft.com/FlipTopCart
This is exactly what i need. Great build. Is there anything you would change or add now you've finished it and used it?
Thank you! Just finish out the bottom. I was going to do one big drawer but now I'm thinking about a drawer on each side so they would be half the depth.
