    I like the minimal rockscape that leaves plenty of room for corals to grow

    Great video. That thing is a beauty. I gotta say...I like the features on that better than my last GEO. Might have to pick one up for my new build.

    Hey Keith, off topic, but have you ever considered getting Mike Paletta on the podcast?

      Yes, Mike has agreed to do the show but we have not nailed down a date. I also have some other great guests lined up for 2021 so stay tuned!

    Looks good man! Let us know how you make out with the ghl and KH director with the reactor. I'm ready to shoot the ghl gear

    Hey Keith! Great video! Question for you… What regulator are you using? I’ve been researching these and have seen some cool DIY ones, but they can’t get pricey.

    Kieth, are you still running the octo calcium reactor? If so what are you thoughts on it?

    i have a large reef octo calcium reactor .and im not to happy with it .it has 2 hugh chambers and only the 1st chamber gets used .the second chamber does not go down at all .it does buffer my ph back up .but only the first chamber gets broken down .i think the second chamber is strickly for buffing back up the effluents ph

    Do you have this in a push or pull configuration with the Kamoer?

    Thanks for sharing fantastic video sir....I just updated news tank 120 gallon... My tank is mixed tank normal I dosing by hand... Is this true do I need all this equipment for my new tank....

    • @ReefBum
      @ReefBum  3 роки тому +1

      You can do either two-part dosing or use a calcium reactor. It is nice to have options in this hobby :)

    Is it quiet would you mind doing an installation video as far a speed of pump, is it pretty much the same as others

    • @ReefBum
      @ReefBum  3 роки тому

      It is quiet. I have the pump on the max setting and I haven't touched it since I started it up. Pretty straight forward.

    Hello pal. I just set this bad boy up in a 220 and have a few questions… What are your setting in the apex for the carbon doser? How many bubbles you have it set up with and what is the flow rate you’re using with the kamoer pump? Thanks and happy holidays

    • @ReefBum
      @ReefBum  Рік тому +1

      I use the GHL Profilux 4 controller. My bubble could is around 80 bubbles per minute and my flow rate is currently set at 50 mls/minute. But I control it by using the pH probe in my calcium reactor. Every system is going to be different so you will need to experiment yourself to tune your reactor. CoralVue also has several videos on how to tune their reactors so you should check those out.

    • @teymiberges8617
      @teymiberges8617 Рік тому

      I have one more question. I am using my kamoer to pull water in and out of the reactor. Will this be the correct setup or should I be using a feed pump to feed the calcium reactor inlet? Right now I set the pump for example at 20 ml per min, but yet too much effluent comes out, it’s like the kamoer intakes more that what I want… is this happening perhaps because I have the pump pulling in water by any chance and I should have a pump to feed it? Thanks a bunch

    • @ReefBum
      @ReefBum  Рік тому +1

      @@teymiberges8617 That is the way I am using the Kamoer pump...to pull water out of the reactor. No feed pump.

    Nice - getting coralline algae already. What kind of ph are you getting in the tank with the kalk reactor?

    • @ReefBum
      @ReefBum  3 роки тому

      When I was running the lights at 100% my pH ranged from 8.2 to 8.5 but since I have cut them back to 10% it is in the 8.5 to 8.6 range.

    • @golfinusa
      @golfinusa 3 роки тому

      @@ReefBum wow. That’s awesome! What is your target ph? Not sure you’re going to need your air exchange! It’s also interesting that your ph increased when you reduced your light output. I’ve been fighting my ph for awhile now and have done a lot of research on it and haven’t come across anything that says light can affect your ph level.

    • @ReefBum
      @ReefBum  3 роки тому

      @@golfinusa pH in the 8.3 to 8.5 range would be great. I will have to see what happens when I ramp up the reactor and start adding more C02 to the system. I assume my pH will not stay in the 8.5 to 8.6 range.

    I always wanted to try a calcium reactor but it always looked confusing to me lol iland i heard its not that important for a smaller tank like a 75 gallon.

    • @ReefBum
      @ReefBum  3 роки тому

      Two part is certainly a good option for a tank that size but a Ca Reactor would also work well, especially if it will be SPS dominant.
