What a disgrace of a pundit.
Dan James is one of the most bang average footballers ever to play Premier League football.
I knew he’d miss too, but not due to his technical limitations. His mind is why I knew he’d bottle it. He’s a poor decision maker man his mind is too quick in games.
I think that was actually spot on punditry I knew he was gonna miss he can’t strike the football properly

He’s a professional footballer and he’s taking a penalty from 12 yards out, you score some and you miss some. Unfortunately he missed. End of. I’ve seen centre backs with a lot less technical ability than Dan James and they’ve scored. Penalties are like that. So chill out Gabby Agbonlahor
But there are things you can do to improve penalties. Side footed ones are the easiest to save.

I expected him to miss as well. As soon as I saw him walking up. Not how he looked or anything like that, I just don't rate him for taking a penalty. I blame the manager because if I can see it, he definitely should have.
The problem with Daniel James is that when he runs at you he's a force to be reckoned with but when he has to slow down and think on the ball he's that's when he runs into difficulty and seems confused that's why he doesn't make a good penalty taker he was always going to miss and David Edwards is deluded this is a limited side compared to the 2016 side which had a lot of Premier League players and a Bale and Ramsey in their prime
If you're a Welsh fan thinking about the peno days after, "you could've done anything else! Smash it !" Imagine that poor guy until he gets a chance to put it right.
Wales need a proper striker. Bale and Ramsey while not strikers contributed alot of goals. Without that level of players they need to develop better strikers.

Gabby stated that James missed the penalty because he is limited technically (as a player), Gabby also praised his other qualities as a player (not as a person).
This is a classic case of people having a problem with Gabby, rather than his (accurate) assessment of James.
Much like Aaron Ramsay, who was only on loan, missing a penalty for Rangers in the final of the Europa League 🏴

Wojciech Szczęsny is a very good goalkeeper, it was certain that if it went to penalties, the Welsh would be stopped by Szczęsny.
Dan James whole body demeanour screamed he was going to miss that penalty. I called it as soon as he walked up.
