- Drake has a multilingual 4-year-old on his hands! The rapper's son, Adonis, spoke French to him in an adorable Instagram video on Friday, where Drake was willing to let the little one put him to the test. Despite Adonis' impressive skills, Drake couldn't help but question whether things were getting lost in translation!

I'm French and what I can tell you is that his ACCENT is impressive ! PLUS what he said was actually very DEEP for his age . He said that when he is grown , drake will die and return to the universe 😅😅😅😅

Ok french person here: for a four-year-old boy, he speaks really good french, but I'm most impressed with his accent! what's funny is, when he starts speaking french, he transitions from the American 'umm" to the french 'euh" ^^
Adonis isn’t American he’s half Canadian half french
Umm it's only bc he is transitioning into both languages to his father who isn't French. Mentally he has to remember to speak English to his dad. I did it as well. Listen to when he's speaking English, you can tell he is French by the way he says certain words. Eventually he'll do it effortlessly.
Why wouldn’t he speak good French when his mother is literally French?

It’s funny he literally said « when I will be older you’ll die and then you’ll return to the universe ». He already is very eloquent and quite pragmatic to say the least. Having an understanding of time at such a young age, kids these days are more woke 😂. What I like is that he is conscious his dad don’t speak French so he proceeded to translate slowly lol. I’m always impressed with kids who learn two languages simultaneously.

We in America dumb down our children. Other countries allow freedom of expression and speak to children on a whole different level. Not adult like but as their child can grasps concepts.

People are way to easily impressed with distractive nonsense. Peruse the Amazon comments and you can see how people are just getting dumber and dumber. Saw a negative comment that a person complained that sugar free popsicles weren’t sweet. 🤦🏽♀️ They thought it would have fruit juice in them, as if fruit juice isn’t sugar. Dumb I tell you, just dumb. That person is probably in these comments gushing over a child speaking French because his mother taught him, but instead they probably think he taught himself or was born that way. Smh.

What fascinates me is that what his son is saying is a universal truth about the after life...according to every near death/afterlife interview I've heard, people all connect to a 'source', if you will, upon the death of the physical body. They say children remember things like this, until they don't. Our physical reality makes us forget. His son knows his daddy will be on another dimension one day, and not completely gone.

When you grow up in Canada this is common. Especially is you go to French Emersion. My niece and nephew can read and write french since they started reading and writing.
His mom is French though….not French Canadian.
My cousins moved from South Africa to the UK and my cousin has learnt French. There are African countries that also speak French

Wow, that's very impressive! I was raised bilingual, because I was born in Israel while my parents immigrated 2 years before I came. So Hebrew and Russian are both my mother tongue. Mom sent me to English classes when I was 4, so I'm fluent in English too. Learned French in middle school, enough to get most of what Adonis said here. + Watched a lot of telenovelas when I was in middle school, so my Spanish is way better than my french. Some of us are just inclined to be better at learning languages than others, I guess.
You are fortunate to have had that exposure to different languages. I always think, it would benefit kids if the parents speak different languages fluently...of course and a common language..Or they live in a foreign speaking country and parents speak a different language to the locsl... but not too much at one time.. 1 or 2 is more than enough at a time... don't want to stress the babies :) ..they take longer to speak when they are becoming bilingual

Well as a Canadian myself I would say that we moslty speak french in Quebec but in Ontario and other Canadian provinces, English is dominant. So no, French is not our primary language in Canada, its English.
