I don't really know where to start lol...I'm not an expert, but all I can say is that cats are very easy to take care of bc they're so independent. All you have to do is provide them food, shelter, and love (oh and clean their litter box frequently).

Unfortunately, a lot of it has to do with genetics. The best thing you can do is to keep it as healthy as possible so you dont have to trim it as often. I have a Hair FAQs video from a while back if you want to check it out ;)
