I am SOOO glad you donated it for children, There is this little boy I know that passed away of cancer this month so this makes me smile :)
I really think that what you did was very generous. I had a 4 year old cousin that got diagnosed w/ cancer when she was about a year & a half. When she began her therapy her hair began to fall. My aunt couldn't stand seeing that so she shaved it off. My cousin cried so much for her hair, but she would get ecstatic when it would grow. Even if it was very little hair. I just wanted to thank you for doing such a generous act. I'm pretty sure you just made a kid very happy. Thank you & God bless :)
I'm so glad you chose Wigs for Kids. Thanks also for reminding people that their hair must meet the requirements! So often people donate and I cringe because I know their hair is not able to be used.
Locks for Love is so often touted as an organization that makes wigs for cancer patients--but it isn't. It's for kids with alopecia, a NON-terminal hair loss disease.
So thanks for donating to an awesome cause and informing us about it!
I'm glad you researched what organization you wanted to use. Something alot of people don't know is that Locks of Love sells hair off to be made into wigs and extensions to be sold at beauty stores. Very few donations actually go to the kids they say they are going too.
This is definitely something that I'd consider doing in the future. At the moment my hair isn't long enough and is only half free of dye, but I think it's a fantastic thing to do - especially if you're thinking of cutting your hair anyway. It always grows back, and you have a chance to help a kid going through an awful time. Good work, Yaya.

When I was 8 I decided to grow my hair out to my mid back just so I could cut it off and donate it to Locks Of Love! It is such an amazing feeling.

Im so glad I came across this video. I have been growing my hair out for about 4 years now and am finally ready to cut and donate it now that it is almost to my butt... two feet of hair from root to tip! (I have a hair video where you can see just how long it is) I actually had a hair cut similar to yours in mind, I hope it comes out just as nice as yours! Thanks for sharing :]

@tokyodoru I am not exactly sure lol...I think I used Sonia Kashuk's Eye on Neutral palette to create a smokey eye and highlighted the centers of my lids with elf's mineral eye shadow in celebrity.

@parisvally That's only when you want to donate more generously, but it's not required. Just make sure your longest layers meet the minimum length requirement :)

@parisvally i donated to another foundation in canada called "angel hair for kids" and i had to braid my hair. it really depends on the foundation! :)

i did it when i was about... 11. i had my hair down to my butt (never straightened it, never dyed it, nothing! 100% natural) and they cut off about 13 inches and donated it to wigs for kids :)
i'm doing this! :) i've been growing my hair out for three years now, with no intention of donating it until I hit sophomore year, and I was like, I'm gonna do it. So now I'm in the middle of Junior year and it touches the back of my jeans... i don't want my hair to get cut right at my shoulders though, so i'm waiting a little bit more until I can get my hair cut off to where I need it to be :D
well done yaya... that was such such a beautiful thing to do. Not many people do it these days.. but if you think about where it is going it's great to know :)

Thank you so much for making this video!! My hair is down to my waist, and I was actually supposed to go to the salon today to cut and donate it to locks of love...but I chickened out. My biggest fear is that I will regret cutting it later and that I will miss my long hair.. This probably sounds silly but I've had long hair for most of my life! And it's just such a big change, it's scary. Do you have any advice? Were you nervous before cutting it? Thanks so much!!

@cutepoiisonn Very professional salons do that don't know why. They like to wash your hair too.I've had an stylist do that before, he ended up cutting it to short, cost me 80$ Now I just go to the walk in salon for 12$ and they have never messed it up.
