I'm really curious to know what should be the ideal payment terms for equipment and machinery that's already in stock? All suppliers I've communicated with are asking for 100% payment upfront. I understand that there's a 30/70% payment rule for other consumables. What's the way to go when purchasing an equipment? Your thoughts are appreciated.
The 30/70% payment rule generally means that you pay 30% when you place an order, and you settle the balance 70% before ship the goods. Because it is in stock, they need you to pay for the goods before shipping. Can try pre-shipment inspection..

@@supplyia Thank you for your answer Supplyia, I asked my supplier to pay through PayPal but they doesn't have a Paypal's account so I decided to go for Alibaba's Trade Assurance, im working on my own design jewelry and they charged me a mold fee and the sample fee, they asked me to pay first then they will show me a 3D design of my jewelry, and asked me to pay full amount payment because I have to order 2000pcs to get 30% and 70% after production... they are a great company but is it right idea to pay full amount then to make me 3D resource so I check or not please give your advice in general I will be so thankful
The seller shall bear the credit transaction service fee, charge 2% of the actual amount of the order, capped at 100 dollars; If use Alibaba platform' logistics, 1% will be charged, and the cap will be $100.

Based on personal experience, Alibaba trade Assurance protects the seller only. If you stuck with the wrong supplier, Alibaba will do nothing to help.
