A winter highland road trip through a beautiful but unforgiving Scottish landscape

  • There is nowhere quite like the Scottish Highlands in Winter. Quite apart from the lack of Midgies and Mud, there's the addition of a dusting of snow to turn the scenery into an awesome monochrome vista.
    I wasn't planning on a Highland road trip this week, but work decided otherwise so be rude not to do a spot of content for you guys while I was there.
    This week starts off in the middle of a forest near Achnashellach (don't worry, I'd never heard of it either) before heading south on the long and winding road to Inverness.
    There's mountains and glens, close encounters with the local wildlife and a stunning display of the raw power of nature at Rogie Falls.
