Ed said all the band's albums were solo albums BUT this is as close to a solo album , that and VH III . Ed fought alot with Teddy Templeman over this album . FAIR WARNING is usually picked by the majority of famous guitar players in guitar magazine polls as a favorite album .
Yeah...my fellow Van Halen maniacs...it's an almost undescribeable feeling that grabs you filling your body with a blend of sadness and happiness, you wanna weep but you feel joyful at the same time...fucking haunting sensation...i love it....VH is a shape shifter and a mood lifter !
He was good in studio. Live was famously atrocious. As precise and technical as the band was, Dave was focusing on flair as the frontman…quite successfully. But as a live vocalist… no.
Mr. Roth you at the very least are one of the best frontmen....ever. with that being said listening to "Hear bout it later" with no vocals is better than with the vocals. EVH you are the most colorful guitarist I will ever hear in this life you surpass all with your gift from God. We miss the fuck out you. RIP brother
Just found my new ringtone 😂 Fair Warning came out when I was a senior in High School. The guitar tracks on this song alone have always been my favorite.
LOL I saw them 4 times Once I passed out for the Kats this was 1980 Shreveport LA front row, but woke up between the Kats & Van Halen Coming out the crowd goes wild when I woke from my drunken stupor One of the best shows ever !!
He was a musical genius! His playing was unique, others copied but they could not touch his unique style of musical song structuring! He truly could write good music!!!
This is one of those songs, like “Fight For Your Rights” from Motley Crue, that should have been on the radio. Alas, all the program rejectors, were all eunuchs and would not go into the guts of a real rock album. It’s depressing.
Deep tracks on the first four albums really surprise people when they hear them for the first time. When they hear “Somebody get me a Doctor” “Take your Whiskey Home” and “Hear about it Later” they always comment wondering why they never heard these songs on the radio.
I met Alex in a bar after a VH concert. His hands are massive. I'm not talking in a homosexual way but the man has meat hooks! I've got 7 inch hands that are a little wider than the average hand but his hands are 10" long and way wider. You definitely don't wanna get slapped by this person!
It doesn't matter who you electronically remove from "Hear About It Later," just as long as you have at least one member of the Van Halen band still in your version. The song's still going to be great no matter which player is left in.
@@Dusty2112 Don’t laugh. Lol. Have you heard it? Remember his favorite recording in the 80’s was So by PG? Open up the brain. I listen to all types of music because the good stuff will affect me.
Bad father! My mother was cool! She took me to see them. I was 10 years old, 1978, 1979, 1980, 1981, 1983 US Festival CA, and 1984. My mother knew this era was history in the making of music, and she loved David Lee Roth. She took me to see a lot of concerts up to age 16 then I started going on my own to some she didn't want to see. I would go back to those day in a second! And yes we all smoked weed in those days. Concerts or not.
This is awesome. But it's funny that to me; this just shows how much better Wolfgang is on the Bass! Don't get me wrong, I love Mike and his backing vocals. But Wolfgang is in a completely different universe on the Bass.
I guess we will see, when wolfie contributes to some music better than was recorded with Mike. Not sure how the bass could be any better than it already was on those amazing Roth-era VH rekkids.
You sir are absolutely clueless. Prove he is better. I've grown up watching and attend 6 various Van Halen concerts, 2 with WolfG. Mike blows him away every time. And, if you have seen Wolfg in Tremonti, he is nothing more than a standard bass player... Mike A. clearly shines while having been with Sammy H. and not being overshadowed by Eddie....As for your statement that Wolfgang is in a different universe? That is hysterical.... Wow!
Right? LMFAO. All these dorks saying Wolfie is better obviously have never seen VH live back in the day. Its like saying the SF 49s could have been a better Super Bowl team if it weren't for that one player. Utterly moronic.
I don"t often listen to Van Halen, but when I do, so do my neighbors
Lmao
Yup....mine as well.
Awesome! That’s hilarious 😆🎶
Haha!!! Yup. Mine too!!
my neighbours (and theirs too) often listen to van halen
Fair Warning was their masterpiece.
Eddie's fav. Album RIP Eddie.
Absolutely!!! 🎶👍

Every song/album is a masterpiece !!!
Alex and that snare sound of his..
Killer..
You probably know this already but EVH's "brown sound" was the result of him chasing a guitar sound to match AVH's snare sound.
@@nigelsmith721
Nope, never heard that until now..thnx
His snare sounds like he banging a Heineken against a log in South Africa
Killer tone..
Edward is his own category. There are guitarists, and there's Edward. They aren't the same thing.
Something very melancholic about this song and the album as a whole. It always gets to me.
Without question it's their heaviest and darkest record in the catalog..
I thought it was just me lol
It’s my favourite album

I love it. Such a great album. As a whole.
His rhythm playing was from another planet. GOAT! Edward Van Halen! 🎸☝🏽
Ed reinvented Flange on Fair Warning. Ed simply punches me in the gut with the Flanger... I love it!
Classic VH cannot be topped.
All hail David Lee
Just ridiculous. Never get tired of the Brown Sound. Always finding little nuggets when the music is isolated.
"Brown Sound" refers to the snare drum. Eddie thought it sounded like a piece of wood.
that is my favorite thing listening over and over. You ALWAYS find something new. LOVE it.
I tried to sing over it, but I gotta tell you David isn't such a bad singer as people say. This shit is hard.

Yeap
there are full V.H. albums on youtube with no vocals
He was a musical genius! His playing was unique, others copied but they could not touch his unique style of musical song structuring! He truly could write good music!!!
My second favorite in this album (meanstreet 1st). Flanger intro very intense. More raw guitar and one of the best solos to crank up man.
Ed's parts fill in the song quite completely and beautifully , what a tone!!! I don't miss Dave's vocals here. Thanks for sharing Dusty!!
My FAVORITE ♥️

Fight For Your Rights is one of my faves off of Theatre Of Pain, very underrated song and album tbh
@@f4lc0n15 Mick Mars is an absolute badass on a 6 string. Sticky Sweet is another genius guitar song.

Wow that’s awesome the ton the rhythm. Other worldly
Jesus his tone is fucking "everything" !!
Listen to Eddie Shred the guitar ...
MY FAVORITE SONG!!!!!

Thank you Dusty. Can you do the same with the Live In Tokyo album ? Please ? A grateful VH nation awaits. 😉
Wish I could but I dont have the multitrack for that one.

That’s why houses have windows.
