    I can play Peggy Sue, It’s so easy, Well all right! and Heartbeat but Oh Boy! escaped me, so thank you. This is great!

      Peggy Sue was one of the hardest songs for me to get right with Buddy playing all those down strokes and that galloping chord solo....i could play much more technical stuff but Peggy Sue was a real bitch for me for a long time to master and also the riff in Maybe Baby those were the two that took me the longest and they are two of his songs that are real simple and basic but not the way he played them to play them like he did is a real workout he was a real musician and a real genius......by the way i have been playing since i was 10 so 30+ years......

      Sebastian Miller Stratocaster into a clean Fender tube amp.
      I have a ‘50s Fender Strat and a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe. Sounds great doing Buddy’s stuff.

    Hey, Randy! Just stumbled upon a super fun rockabilly song from 1961 that you might like. It's called "Fish House Function (For A Cross Eyed Cat Named Sam" by Emmy Oro & Her Rhythm Escorts. You can find it here on youtube by typing in: Fish House Function. Just thought I'd share it with you in case you hadn't heard it. Hope you like it!

    In a sea of new bands that call themselves rockabilly this guy (Randy Richter) is the real deal he gets it......he's the closest thing to real american rockabilly that isn't from america.....you would swear he grew up in the south here in america playing this great music since the 1950's with all the greats of rockabilly.......

    randy should i do scales

    • @ducktailcat
      @ducktailcat  5 років тому

      You mean should you practice scales? Yes, definitely. They major scale is a great finger exercise. But I would suggest practicing scales always to a jam track that you can slow down and speed up and also change the key. I think it's important to practice the scales in a musical context. And you should never rely solely on scales. Chords and arpeggios are just as important.

    Sorry man, but nobody will ever be able to play the solo part with the same feel as buddy. Furthermore, nobody knows exactly what he is playing. You can try, but you will fail. You can't teach the feel of music on a piece of paper
