This song is very special. M. Shadows wrote the main riff, and the horns were recorded by guys from the band Fishbone. They play ska, punk, funk, metal, and reggae. You'll probably notice on further listens that the 2nd verse has different instrumentation from the first. This song was written for the 2016 election season, and the name Vlader Lauder is Brooks Wackerman's stage name. Lol, just kidding. It's a combination of Vladimir Putin and Bernie Sanders with some extra letters from other politicians' names thrown in. Sunny D is about the rich people dropping atomic bombs. I'm super excited that you've heard this song! I'm glad it hits you! I'd like to add to the support for And All Things Will End! 🥰
it's cool that your "favourites" are not from a specific album. This means that you like all the albums. This one is from "the stage" btw , their latest one. Can't wait for the new one !!
So much to say! I saw them live in 2017 and when it played that radio sounding bit, shadows did that through a megaphone and screamed the last line! So amazing! Zacky has said himself he's very envious of how syn plays, he can play with feel, he can shred for days, pure talent This is long but here's what the songs about:) Raising your thumb to the sky, as Fallout has brought to many peoples' attention, is a tactic to test whether or not you are in the blast radius of a nuclear bomb. I think the song is about humanity looking at all the war and destruction it has caused in the name of peace, but only a few high up people are reveling in that peace, while the rest are left to rot away. "I'd make a decision if granted the privilege, but I'm afraid my taste is unrefined And no one likes cheap wine" The one's left to rot would like to have positions of power to fix the issues, but they are hopeless because they do not believe they have the skills to productively undo the issues... taste us unrefined. When the clouds kiss your eye Shadows stain on the high-rise Raise your thumb to the sky Fossilize Upon standing there, as the radiation blast hits you. Shadow stain: people's shadows where etched into building in Nagasaki and Hiroshima after the A-bombs dropped. Fossilize: this is imagery similar to Pompeii, people fossilized by the immediate destruction brought on by the volcano.
I'm incredibly grateful that you took the time to make this comment. I usually leave Randi comprehensive explanations, but this saves me a lot of effort. 😄
@@BetterEveryDayUA-cam this song has two 4-minute making of videos. They don't really help with the meaning, but the guys talk about some cool vocal and instrumental stuff. Part 1: ua-cam.com/video/Cjg_-bAo-OI/v-deo.html Part 2: ua-cam.com/video/G9oRELM0O64/v-deo.html
And All Things Will End!! And then Lost by Avenged Sevenfold!! Lost was a completely different track frpm their self titled album definitely one of my favorites and so is And all things will end!!
Idk exactly what the songs about but I know it's related to how Rich people are the ones who start wars and order nukes to be fired but it's the poorer, normal people who are forced to fight
Really cool. The versatility in tempo, soft and heavy, subtle and full on. Spot on guitar solo, almost retro in it's style, but not quite. The song had it all. If I had heard this song by A7X before any others, I'd have been a fan much quicker than getting used to them slowly.
Been waiting so long, very happy for this reaction. Such an amazing unique song. Love the lyrics "When the cloud kiss you'r eyes, shadow stain on the high-rise, raise you thumbs to the sky, fossilise. It sounds so beautiful when the cloud kiss the eyes but the shadow that stains tells that there is something bad about to happen. Can't wait for the next long awaiten song "Dose". :)
I’d like to highly suggest ‘simulation’ from this same album. It’s such an interesting song. It really puts you in the place they are describing in a disturbing but awesome manner lol. Think you’d enjoy that one.
I admit, after having been such a huge fan back from City of Evil and the self titled days, it still occasionally startles me when Matt writes so much depth into the lyrics, and this was one of those times-it surprised me more than hearing the sax in there! 😂 I Love it when they bring in elements like that, and fell head over heels with this song the first time I heard this album. From that heavy, gorgeous groove to Brian seeming to impersonate a violin for the first half of his solo, to the absolute sass of Matt's voice on lyrics like "dear radiation my sweet friend" just... Damn, songs like this are probably the biggest reason I've stayed such a huge fan for so long.
With the saxophone, I believe Matt and the guys said in an interview that they were recording and heard other artists playing the saxophone down the hall in the same recording studio and asked them to do those solos for this song.
4:55 - the warbling instrument is a muted trumpet. I've been really drawn to this song because of the jazz roots of the chorus, but it really makes me miss playing saxophone.

Fun fact: Matt actually wrote and played the opening riff on this track

Wow. I had no idea. I feel like I need in depth discussions of some of their song meanings. 😂

This song has the grooviest and most unique chorus probably ever, change my mind
This is one of my favorite songs by them. You really should check out "simulation" from this same album. It's amazing.
Yes. That is my favorite song by them right now.

That solo and Brooks drumming combined tho... if I've listened to this song 70 times I've heard the solo 280 times
