You may recognize @kolusola's cello from our live shows over the past few years, but this time around we've added more instruments for the Evergreen Tour! We talk all about it, and the special meaning of why we include KO's cello to our shows. #PTXEvergreenTour

Love this. I hope they're never afraid to experiment, grow and develop as artists; stagnation in any creative field is never a good thing. I think most of their fans love them for who they are as people and are as happy and eager to see how they grow over the next decade as they were for the previous one.

You have to grow and explore. There is nothing wrong with it. They are still Pentatonix, A Capella at the core. love seeing this new side of them.

Not mad at them at all and I feel a true Pentaholic would not be upset. I just want them to do what makes them happy as humans and artists!

ALL of their talents should be nurtured (exploited) and celebrated. Their voices will always take center stage, but there is NO reason why they can’t supplement or experiment with new sounds and other instruments IMHO.

You are right, There is no reason! However some fans are genuinely upset that they are using instruments? In their POV they are no longer purists when it comes to A capella and feel they compromised who they are as a group? Which is A capella! They feel that Pentatonix can no longer be called an A capella group because in their POV they aren't!
      I don't agree I think they are incredible 😊

Very nice to hear from them all! Love the versatility of PTX. I know that Mitch can play the piano too.....hope to see him on stage with it one day

Mitch both plays and arranges for the piano, he does it in his solo work. Personal fave - Marry the Night )

I love how they are willingly sharing their talents with us. Most fans aleady knew that they played instruments so it's nice to see them do it on stages. It's always great for artists to expand their horizons. 8-year old Scott's dreams being fulfilled; Matt's out of body experience each night and Kevin being genius Kevin are so heartwarming and too cute.

😌👉They don't have anything to prove! They are AMAZING, the GREATEST at A capella adding a few instruments doesn't doesn't discredit from being A capella geniuses!!

I’m NOT mad at them. ! I’m happy they are branching out
but the core singing is so precious to me as well. It’s lovely to hear from them

I think I'd choose synthesizer too because they make such a vast variety of sounds

We were at their first show in Baltimore. We knew Kevin could play the cello and that Scott could play piano. But the big surprise was Matt on the drums! They all sounded great!

In the past, when fans have objected to instrumentation, it is often because the instruments drown out the singers, hiding the nuances of the performance. But when the instruments work With the vocals, then there can be magic (eg Say Something, the Lindsey Sterling collabs, etc)

They are growing and with that growth come the ability to move within the music genres. I love that they are doing something slightly different than before and it demonstrates the evolution of the band over time.

People love PTX for their music. If that means instruments too cool. Everybody Knows PTX can do it without instruments. NOW show them how PTX can do it with instruments. It can only continue to get better. Besides people love PTX for their personalities as well. Play it, they shall come...LOL Thx Courtney 😎

I love it! I’m a pentaholic and actually bought tickets to this show and really wanted to come! Unfortunately it didn’t work out, But I'm so sure I would have loved if I saw Kevin playing the cello! I just want to support them in everything they do! I WOULD NOT be mad!

They give us beautiful songs and their voces are still there, so, I don't mind if they use some instruments. Love Pentatonix 🥰

The key is that the instruments don’t take away from the performance. They seem to fit in well.
As much as I love them, I can’t say I was a fan of the Star Wars performance with the orchestra. To me, I felt that the orchestra took something away from their artistry.

I like the way how the Pentatonix dressed so pretty for their Evergreen tour, but in the begining Kevin is killing that cello. I heard that the Pentatonix like Kirstin wants to be a violin player, Scott wants to be a piano player, Mitch wants to be a synthesizer player, Matt wants to be a drum player, and Kevin wants to be a cello player. That's was amazing😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄

String instruments are a migraine trigger for me. 😥 When they do this, all I can do is turn the volume down or put the earplugs in, and hope they stop soon. 😧 I wish that migraines were not an issue but they are.
