Whenever I hear Kirstin belt, I get transported, Mitch is crazy good and Scott blows my doors off. Beatbox and bass form an exquisite foundation for it all.
IKR. Most reactors fawn over Mitch because he's boy that sounds like a girl novelty (plus he's a pretty boy), and over Avi/Matt because they can sing ultra deep and bass is sexy, and Kevin because his beatboxing seems supernatural, but Scott and Kirsten don't get a lot of love, especially Kirsten.

What I think is AMAZING about EVERY ONE of their live and a capella performances, is the FULNESS of the arrangement. I think that Ben Bram has the best job in the world (being the arranger for Pentatonix)! Their live sound is the same as their studio sound. Just, Wow!

There's actually 2 layers to the song, one for the background vocals and the other for the lead vocals. If you listen to the chorus, it's audibly obvious that there's 2 layers, so the background vocals were being played while they were singing the lead vocals. Hope this helps!
They all do such an amazingly beautiful job with this song and arrangement! Love that Mitch went on up for the high part. He sounded fantastic! But with all the tour dates being so close together on this Christmas tour, I can understand why he didn't go all the way up during those performances. He still sounded great.

Many mainstream vocal artists want to visually demonstrate how difficult certain parts of a song are. PTX does the opposite. They down play it so much that you cam think, for a moment, it looks easy enough for me to do! Ha ha ha. No.
