My brother introduce me to DC talk way back in 98 ..I was 2 years junior to him .he's heavily on drugs on and off of different rehab care .but still I believe our Jesus Christ will rescue him from this evil pit .
This song had a huge impact on my growing up in the 90s. Belief in Jesus and my relationship with him has been important my whole life, however heroin and meth consumed my life for almost a decade. I had been in and out of treatment centers, psych wards, and homeless shelters more times than I can count.
Eventually, I was so emotionally and spiritually bankrupt that I couldn't take it any longer. The moment I decided I was ready, things started happening. I opened myself back up to God and started to actually see miracles happening.
It took a few more tries as sobriety, but this time I actually wanted to be sober. Eventually, having the genuine desire to be sober, a relationship with Jesus, and and couple more tries, something seems to have stuck. My life literally depends on my continuous relationship with God now, but it's so much easier than the life I was living before.
I was able to finally finish college, find my fiance, mend my relationship with my family, find a great career, and finally go somewhere with my life.
Just know that it is possible for your brother to recover. I thought I was going to die a loser junkie on the streets, but God had other plans when I was finally ready and opened myself to Him!

@@LividRenegade so happy to read your story. I lost my first love to heroin in 2018 after 15 years in and out of rebabs. The last time he came out of rehab, he was a changed man and we were planning our future. But he ran into an old friend and made the wrong decision one last time and it was his last decision on this earth. Praise God your story is different.
I pray to see him coming back to Jesus.

I first learned about DC Talk from WOW 2000 Hits I guess circa 2001. It was "Consume Me" that drew me to them.
Wish I could have attended some of these concerts.

I was at this concert and it was a big moment for a 12 year old.
I went to DC talk concert with my church youth you can feel the Holy spirit moveing out through the building and having fun.... I leave there in different way.
I bought the double live cd/DVD of this and it still sounds totally contemporary. They led the way in quality rap/rock/funk and influenced bands in and out of the Christian scene
I'm no longer a believer as such but I still value Jesus and grace and this song nails it
The stage dive right at the very end is worth it too
Why did you stop being a believer?
God is moving no matter what people say. He is using what ever means possible to get the Truth out. Sometimes we have to stop to hear His voice, but He's always there waiting on us to just listen. Amen.

I still have the CD. It was the Seattle Freak show album. Played it all the time. In North Texas with had 89.7 power FM that played all Christian rock until they went off the air around 2015 I think. Introduce me to many Christian rock bands.
