The Arenado Goldschmidt era has officially come to an end. I was against the front office after the last place season of 2023. But the front office has had a good offseason and trade deadline in my opinion. This season is on the players in my opinion and Goldschmidt and Arenado have refused to hit this season. Goldschmidt will be gone after this season, and I predict Arenado will be gone after next season. Its time to move on from these particular players the organization will benefit and I'm more confident in the front office now to do the right thing more than I've been in the past five seasons.
They were lucky they weren't swept. . .They were literally handed Game 3. I'm not as much worried about a closer as I am about a "stopper." I really don't think this team has a bona fide "stopper", a real Number 1 Ace. Maybe Fedde can turn into that, but I'm not holding my breath on it. I've also noticed our guys don't seem to swing at curve balls hardly at all. A curve comes in at 80 something mph or less and ends up dropping right into a great spot to be crushed, and they just stand there. . .and it's called a strike. It's like they've never seen one before. I used to think that learning to stay back on a curve, wait for it a bit and then going for it when it drops into the zone was a skill very good hitters developed. Our guys just seem to give up on those pitches entirely. I don't claim to be an expert on hitting, I just remember reading about Musial saying how he learned to recognize a pitch wasn't a fastball, staying back on it, and then punching it to the opposite field. So often when I see our guys let a curve drop right into the zone and just stand there, I say to myself that the next pitch is going to be low and outside and in the dirt. And sure enough, most of the time that's what happens, and they swing at it!!! Kinda drives me nuts. I know it isn't easy, but I see it happen that way so often.

JD, what is this I'm hearing about a hitting Academy fairly close to St. Louis who has helped Aaron Judge turn into the monster that he is and that this guy could also help Jordan Walker? If this hitting Academy has done this for Aaron Judge, there is no reason why the Cardinals shouldn't get Walker to these people and see if they can turn him into the monster that we know that he can be. I'm also thinking about Goldie, Nado, Contreras and all the other hitters going to this hitting Academy if it gets results because obviously JD, the Cardinals don't have the hitting coaches to turn this thing around and haven't sought new coaches. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results. Maybe this Academy has 2 or 3 hitting instructors that they could recommend for the Cardinals to hire for both the major league level and the minor leagues. Just trying to think outside the box JD. The Cardinals need somebody to think outside the box.
That series was BRUTAL, ain't gonna lie. Bring in Crawford to DH for Siani?? WTF was THAT?? Batting Goldy higher than 5 or 6?? WTF is THAT? Granted, Goldy has been hitting much better over the last week / week and a half, but not enough so to put him any higher than 5th. Fedde gets a pass. Helsley gets a pass. But the Offense?? Nope, can't be doing that. Winn coming out and saying he is trying to hit dingers? Nope, reign him in, he's batting 1st to get on base, not slug. If you get a chance to nail a dinger before 2 strikes, sure go for it. With a 2 strike count, take the Pujols approach and GET ON BASE, Dammit! Man, that was just hard to watch.
Trying to be optimistic. The season is full of streaks. From mothers day to just afyer the all star break the Cardinals were on one hell of a hot streak. Now the last 2 weeks have been on a cold streak. Hopefully tomorrow vs the Marlins(who have played us extremly hard this year) we can get some positive momentum going again.

Oli isnt manager material, Dusty Blake isn't a pitching coach, Turner Ward isnt a hitting coach, Mo isn't a President of Operations. I got more Godly isht your 1st Baseman he needs to retire and Mikolas isn't a starting pitcher in the big leagues, he needs to be DFA just like Gallegos or cut.

This is an exceedingly mediocre team…. I don’t see them outlasting the Mets, Padres, Diamondbacks, etc. for a wild card spot….& I certainly don’t see them unseating the Brew Crew…..& with Mo/DeWitt intent on milking this middling mess of a team for the next few years….expect more of the same.

It’s as much Oli’s fault as Aranado’s in that at bat. Why wasn’t he given a take sign??? There’s plenty of times when a hitter should get a take sign. That Aranado at bat is the perfect example!
