FILM BIAŁA WODA - ENGLISH SUBTITLES

lm doc. implemented as part of the project titled "Biała Woda - a forgotten village on the Wallachian culture trail" presents the history and present day of the non-existent Ruthenian village of Biała Woda, displaced in 1950. The axis of the narrative is the journey through the Biała Woda valley of the former resident, who talks about the life and buildings of this Ruthenian village, which is part of the so-called Noble Ruthenia. During the hike, we become acquainted with the natural and cultural values of the "Biała Woda" Reserve, which has existed here for 50 years. We will also visit the Pieniny Museum. Józefa Szalay in Szlachtowa, which preserves numerous memorabilia of the material culture of the Pieniny Highlanders and the Ruthenians of the Szlachtowskie. Another thread is the preparation of a project for the reconstruction of the former village buildings by a pair of students of Architecture at the PK. An important supplement are the stories of the former Ruthenian inhabitants of Biała Woda as well as the statements of scientists dealing with the history of the Pieniny Mountains, also in the cultural aspect. The author of the project is Dr. Justyna Cząstka-Kłapyta - a researcher of Carpathian cultures. The official organizer is the Informal Group of the Carpathian Local Initiative - Justyna and Piotr Kłapytowie and Anna Mikołajczyk-Szarek. Co-organizers: PTTK Szczawnica, Pieniński Museum. Józef Szalay. The patron of the project is the "Zapomniany Świat" Foundation, whose president is a native Ruthenian from Biała Woda, Mrs. Barbara Ewa Janczaruk. A local Carpathian initiative financed by the Government Program Civic Initiatives Fund NOWEFIO for 2021-2030 through the "Pro Carpathia" Association. The film was made by the AF HAF Krzysztof Krzyżanowski team from Krakow. Year of production 2023.

Polacy chcą teraz nazywać pierwotnych ludzi Wołochami. Oni nie byli Wołochami (Rumunami), byli greckokatolickimi Rusinami (Ruthenian ) - stara nazwa Ukraińców. Polacy cały czas próbują pisać nie swoją historię. Poles want to call the original people Wallachians now. They were not Walachians(Romanians) they were Greek Catholic Rusyny ( Ruthenians) old name for Ukrainians.

Мої прадядки теж були русинами, які жили в горах, але в Чернівецькій області.
