DLR even named the band,always promoted Eddie, fronted the band, provided the energy etc. Fun Fact- the song "Eruption" is a series of guitar riffs or noodling that the STUDIO put together for the debut album. Then Eddie had to learn the song in it's released form. He had the riffs yeah but studio engineers "created" it for Eddie to become famous for. DLR carried Van Halen until they could make it on there own. Sorry that's just how it happened. The proof is that nobody wants to see Van Halen in concert without David Lee Roth in the band.
