I started off with a farm with bankrupted pastures two years ago from taking hay off every year. It was predominantly broom sedge. I grazed half the first year and then all of it last year. I unrolled hay and rotated daily. This year the half of my farm that has been grazed two years looks just like that pasture. Thank you, Greg. I owe my success to you for putting this information out and sharing your wisdom.
Wow great bulls and great pasture. I love the docility they have. I see the shorter legs and overall smaller weight as very desirable for finishing and ability to run more head of cattle. Grass genetics is far better for the pocketbook. Thank you!
Greg, We have exciting news! There have never been wild rabbits on our property. This past winter we cleared some silvo pasture and made strategic brush piles (modeled after what you've taught in other videos -rabbitats) instead of burning or chipping for cleanup. Greg, We have rabbits this Spring!! First time ever. That is no hyperbole. Fantastic watching them hop around and add/enhance our little ecosystem. Thanks for all you share! best wishes to you,Jan and the team
It is super warm here too. It’s 92 feels like 102. The animals are starting to really slick off here too. The sheep are taking a little longer but the hair is coming off. These few days will speed it up though. Thanks for the video! The grass is really starting to take off now.
Hey, Greg! Don't misunderstand this...I LOVE your commentary, but...can you make a video with no commentary, just the sound of the cows/bulls grazing? It is so relaxing to watch and listen to them. Thank you!
That is a good idea, been thinking about doing just that! It is very relaxing watching them eat and rip off long blades of green forage with their tongues,

@@gregjudyregenerativerancher I would feel bad for ranchers that don't know how to graze sustainably. I do feel bad for consumers that are paying too much. But elections have consequences.

It is helpful when you point out specific grass species.

Good news we are supposed to close on our property on June 6th. Need to repair fences before we move cows in.
We had 100 degree temps the other day in TX.

That’s crazy, here In Kansas City it’s 91
Great video. Love the point you made about fossil fuel use.

hey Greg do you ever have any issues with bloat? a lot of clover in that pasture which is good but we have had issues years ago with clover and bloat.
With our mob being moved twice per day, the cattle are getting a good salad bar of everything
How did you get rid of the broomsedge?
How long does it take for the shedded haircoats to disappear from the pasture? And what makes it disappear? Birds, worms?
Free food is free food. To humans it is a problem, Nature is more prosaic.
It just naturally falls out with the increasing temperature, the body gives off signals to lose the hair. No different than dogs.
@@peterclark6290 But what is eating (using) it?
@@tbbbbb123 Everything from bacteria to bird's nests. It's just a natural by-product.
@tbbbbb123 I know the birds use it to line their nests. Now that you ask, I am curious too! Time for some experimenting.

i am from VietNam and I want to have a farm like you, but I don't know where to buy that grass, please advise.

Why are you sad about truckers? They are fuel surcharging everything.
Just makes it tough on everybody that buys anything. Diesel fuel powers everything and costs will only increase for consumers.
