Love seeing that brown for the cows to mix with all that green. Great idea!!! Bring back the beavers and we bring back the water, bring back the salmon, bring back the forest.
I know an old timer that trapped beavers for many a farmer in IL. His advice was to trap them all before you bust the dam. You'll be able to pattern them better. And when you think you've got them all, leave your traps for another week cause there's always one more!
Excellent advise. I have found that this also removes all off flavor in spring milk this way. Also high protein will stop mineral absorption setting up for hoof rot, pinkeye, and other issues, excellent advise!
yup i love beavers too!! they are mighty tasty, plus they have a nice warm pelt, and the castors make meds. and perfumes, thanks for the great info, be strong, be safe, and be blessed
Beaver pelts and fat go a long way. On the farmstead. another great free content vlog from the legend himself. Other "homesteaders" piggy back off this man. with the lessons he gave them for free. Just to inspire. And they are selling that free knowledge, to there member aria program.teaching grazing practices with multiple species.or "chicken garden systems".using youtube. Keep it up Mr. Judy. I hope your knowledge stays free to the public. Your channel will take over.like it has been.
We’ve been in beaver reclaimed habitat in Northern Michigan and the U.P. They are incredible engineers. They know ahead of time how high the water table, will be. And for Miles thru valleys and around ridges, they will build berms to contain the flooding they create. *Beaver the unappreciated watershed managers.
I'm pretty new to all this, and I'm not doing it, but I'm a huge supporter and donator to various regenerative organizations, plus I've been buying grass-fed and pasture-raised products now for several months. Who knew they were so delicious!? Well, I suppose the growers do. :) To Greg, what happens to all the hair that gets shed off the cows? Does it get incorporated into the soil somehow? Is it a good addition to the soil? What nutrients does it add? Thanks for sharing these videos with us. I'm sure they have a huge impact. And not a moment too soon.
wish i was down there to help you with your beaver problem as i love the hard work of trapping beaver not just for their pelts but they taste pretty good too,, great video
Those olive trees get feasted upon eagerly by the goats. I can see enough of the stronger branches remain after being leaned on so some shade will happen later in summer. Yup, very nice invasive.
Wow, lots of information packed into this video! Where did you get the 18 ft fiberglass poles for your transmission line (very smart idea by the way)? Do you sell those too? Thanks again for sharing your knowledge Greg!
Someone asked me to ask you if you ever see Mushrooms growing out of the cow patties? I think he was talking about psychedelics, some kind of purple Mushroom or flower... So I asked...
Greg, The Lord's got to be real proud of you and what a great steward you are, taking care of His land and His animals. Great job Greg!!
I live in a dry, brittle environment but love listening to you. Makes sense.
Love seeing that brown for the cows to mix with all that green. Great idea!!!

Always we got great advise from you! Pasture and cattle look absolutely fantastic!
Great video. Spring time is very enjoyable time on the land.

Of course, you're describing Adam's Curse: once we started managing something we have ended up managing everything!
As always, thank-you!

Ha, I guess I should have waited until the end of video to ask my questions, lol. Because you explained it! Thx

Could you make a video tomorrow of the hay to show that 80 percent is eaten and to show you drinking a glass of water from the pond?

Love the Autumn Olive love. I have many improved varieties. Grafted some to goumi this spring. Always enjoy your videos...!
Greg, would you discuss Johhnson grass? I really like your information.
Would love if you shared some of your turkey hunts this spring 🦃
Hay! I mean. HEY! Thanks Greg!
Still would love to see a pond fishing video!

Nice thoughts about your animals.😁
No. 1 fan by the way!

Looking so good I believe I could eat that hay!

We sell them
Hey Greg, thanks for this videos.
How many cows are you running in that hard?
Looks like you got Mama's in your yearlings?
I would also put out a supplementary mineral block so they have access to magnesium which would help reduce grass staggers in the cattle and or sheep.
Our 16 hole cafeteria style mineral feeder has a individual hole for magnesium. Cows can select how much they need each day.
@@gregjudyregenerativerancher I would like to see your "cafeteria style mineral feeder", it sounds an interesting bit of kit.
@@JonDingle check yesterdays video. At least I think it was, it was very recent.
Where can the 18’ high transmission poles be purchased? Thank you,
Can you provide more info on your tall posts
Greg, crazy question but what is the purpose of the tall poles in pasture
You also saved the down stream properties. Good job.
Greg Judy is what you'd get if Aldo Leopold took up ranching grass-fed cattle and sheep.
So you have that barrier rope near the lake to prevent the cows from relieving themselves into the water?
Very Nice!!!
Greg. New sub here.
22 Remington
Do you still Corriente cattle are good to start with
Get the right moderate frame beef bull and breed them.

I was thinking about getting a
Akaushi. Or could you give me yout top 5 picks
You need a ‘beaver deceiver’ or make a homemade one - you won’t beat them on effort
Please don't drink that pond water Greg!
Just joking about eating hay. COVID hasn’t affected me that badly. Heh.

We do see mushrooms occasionally growing out of older manure piles. Not eating those.
