    September 11th, 2001 I was in kindergarten In music class. I remember my teacher was my favorite and I enjoyed learning everything she said word for word. I remember the moment she got a call from the school and turned on the news for all of my class to see. I remember watching the first plane before my teacher turned it off and distracted us, although we all asked about it in private so many times to each other that we had to learn it each year after.
    I have held onto Shame and helplessness for so long that I am letting myself let go.

    Red Sun
    Red Sun over paradise
    Red Sun
    Red Sun over paradise
    Golden rays of the glorious sunshine
    Sending down such a blood-red light
    Now the animals slowly retreat to the shadows
    Out of sight
    Arid winds blow across the mountains
    Giving flight to the birds of prey
    In the distance machines come to transform Eden
    Day by day
    Only love is with us now
    Something warm and pure
    Find the peace within ourselves
    No need for a cure
    When the wind is slow and the fire's hot
    The vulture waits to see what rots
    Oh how pretty, all this scenery
    This is nature's sacrifice
    When the echoes boom with a brisk attack
    The reptile's tail ripped from its back
    When the sun sets
    We will not forget the Red Sun over paradise

    I love how she starts off with 9/11. I don’t think I realized until just now that was the first day I acknowledged my dad couldn’t protect me from everything and really changed my life tbh. I was just in 4th grade, trying to get out the mile run when we all got drug into the schools. We didn’t understand what was happening but I do remember being on crazy lock downs because I lived in PA at the time and they didn’t know where the next attack was. Then we just went home like it was nothing to be greeted with parents who were scared shitless. Interesting start.

As a parent coach, I find that hurting people do they best that they can with what they have and when they know how to do better or be better, they do better and that includes being a happier, more connected and loving parent. Generations tend to repeat themselves when healing doesn't happen.

    Its not such an easy movement to make, what are you forgiving and who is accepting the forgiving; who is the person that moves on? You are, but if you don't know what you are, you also don't know when you feel things AS YOURSELF. So this collapses into ignoring the trauama again and not actually dealing with it - the ambiguity of forgiving and moving on into the forgived-you, gives away to ignoring and denying as well.

    • @healinghomecoaching1030
      @healinghomecoaching1030 5 років тому +5

      Thank you for your comment. What if forgiving (yourself or someone else) is all you need, to have the clarity to know what emotions are yours that need to be healed and in giving your permission to do the work to heal, you begin to form into a more whole version of yourself? The healing process to wholeness is not always pretty, but it is worth the journey. Please reach out to me personally when you are ready to walk the journey to wholeness together.

      I ask to see what I don't know, I ask for clarity and wisdom and that seems to work. I look for signs in numbers, patterns, animals, any kind of symbology really. It's the pattern of red with white dots that's opened up things for me. Was drawn to fly agaric mushroom symbology and it was off and hasn't stopped full pelt since then. Answers are too regular to even note any longer. I have more journals than a journal shop and I've given up trying to get it all down. Just leaning into trusting the journey and letting it unfold. My inner child trauma steers from my eldest brother, what if I can't reach him now? How do I walk through my pain if I can't face my opponent

    • @sarahdoanpeace3623
      @sarahdoanpeace3623 2 роки тому +7

      You can write a letter to your eldest brother that you never send; either write ✍️ it out physically or type it in an email that you NEVER actually send. You can also do the empty chair technique. Pretend your brother is in the chair and talk, say, yell whatever you want/need too as IF he was really in that chair. You can also contact a local therapist or an online therapist and have them help you walk through it. Most people who were traumatized by other people do their healing without the person who inflicted the trauma, it can be done. I’ve done it. But it is different for everyone and we’re all our own journeys. No judgement, only love and compassion to and for you and all the best for your healing journey. Thank you for asking the question. I hope you find the healing you need and deserve.

    Why would I need to forgive myself when others have abused me? That makes no sense. I would have liked the presentation better also if it didn't mention 9/11 because racists often use it to "justify" their racism. I also didn't like including a mental visualization of the stereotypes people have over who has ptsd. People only care about veterans having ptsd, but it's more often children and abused women who have it. But people only care about veterans.

    • @g194g
      @g194g 4 роки тому +28

      Fallen Angel A lot of people blame their inner child or have resentment toward themselves over things they were forced to do, and they blame themselves for it. So while you may not feel the need to forgive yourself, many other people do. General prescriptions do not apply to every individual case, I don’t know if that is something she should be faulted for. Also, regardless of whether people use 9/11 as a justification for racism, that does not mean it was not a traumatic event for many people in the country. So I don’t think we should invalidate people’s trauma because some people may use the event as a vehicle for racism. Ignoring the event doesn’t solve anything and is equivalent to never mentioning someone’s ethnicity because it might inspire racism. And yes, there are many women and children who suffer from PTSD, and she did mention children. People do not pay enough attention to women and children suffering from PTSD, but that does not mean that nearly enough people pay enough attention to what many veterans suffer through. So I don’t think we should fault her for mentioning veterans. We hear about veterans not getting enough support because they really don’t. That’s like complaining about hearing about women’s rights when other minorities don’t have rights either. As long as a group is underprivileged we should continue the conversation

    • @sarahdoanpeace3623
      @sarahdoanpeace3623 2 роки тому +2

      No judgement, sincerely. True healing is about you, not them. You do it for you. You acknowledge the hurt and pain they caused (because they did) and you choose to let it go and not rule you or your life anymore. Forgiveness isn’t forgetting or excusing. It’s simply acknowledging it happened and doing your best to move forward. Simple as that but the doing of it is hard and complex and takes time. (spoken from lived experience). Wishing you all the best.

      For holding onto the trauma most people just want to forget but the inner child latches onto it not allowing it to be forgotten (for good reasons). 9/11 is a nationwide trauma most of us can understand, there's not much more of a communal trauma that damn near everyone in the audience would share, that expressed racism could be a side effect of the unresolved trauma of that very event. It's not that people "only care about veterans" it's that most people only know about PTSD brought about by the violence of war and being a military brat I'd say people don't even care about veterans just virtue signaling ad campaigns. 3 years later I hope you're doing well.

    I am thankful for terms like "Inner Child", that was I know which women to avoid dating. Specifically the ones who use terms like that.

      buddy, why are you on this video? I think you need to have a look at yourself in the mirror and ask why your own 'inner child' is stuck at the bully stage

      Weed isn't the problem, it is a pain reliever. Ask yourself what you are trying to escape pain from. Work there, heal yourself, and the need for weed will dissipate over time.

    She never said what her trauma was
    Only she was four. I grew up in a violent home and at that time law enforcement wasn’t supportive. I am offended by her taking her making the inner child a small issue by taking the child to tea. If all it takes is to stomp feet, drink tea, say thank you and say ok I’m healed and presto I’m
    Healed great! But she is so wrong. How did she get on Ted Talk? Her diabetic story isn’t trauma. Her medical condition was monitored and while she was scared she was fine. All pregnant women get screened for that. I’ve been there, twice.

      Hello. As an infant, you where still very aware of the happenings around you. Things that impacted your caregivers when you where an infant would have been influential to you as well. We begin feeling our emotions when we are in our mother's womb before we are even fully formed.
