- The JBL 306P speakers are a great! I break down what I like and dislike, go over the size options, and the accessories I added!
You can find the speakers here:

The foam pads:
amzn.to/3ANuTOJ
The cable to plug them in:
amzn.to/3e5x5au
The power button:
amzn.to/36vNxwC
The outlet extender (to plug both speakers into the power button):
amzn.to/3hUpvkp
These speakers do go on sale from time to time! I was able to get mine for $125 each on sale, and I believe they also do a sale at $150.
I decided on the 306P size, but you can also get the 305P or 308P sizes, which are 5, and 8 inches. The 6 inch size seemed to be in the sweet spot for what I was looking for, and they are plenty big. They give off a great sound, and the only downside i've had is if you have them turned up too much, there is a faint humming sound.
The speakers DO NOT come with a cable to plug them in right away, so make sure you order a cable to be able to use them! They do come with the power cable.
I added a power switch button to my setup, so I don't have to reach behind the speakers to turn them on or off. I've linked that above, as well as the foam pads I put the speakers on. The pads are nice because they angle the speakers up a little, so they are pointed more towards your ears, and they catch any vibrations the speakers may put off while playing music or loud sound effects etc.
I hope you enjoy the video, and the speakers! They have been great for me, and i'm super glad I got them!
I love some good bass speakers! Thanks for the recommendation! 😀 It's nice to hear all the pros and cons up front too 👍
Can't go wrong with some good bass!
I've never thought about some of the points you made! Great info!
You're welcome! Glad you liked it!
Brillant, honest and very usefull review still 05/22. Thank you!
I appreciate that!
Speakers look excellent. I've been looking for some new ones. Thanks for the review. Song suggestion? Ventura Highway by America.
Thanks for the suggestion! I'll check it out! Also, I was mistaken, I got the speakers on sale for $125 each FYI. Or the 5" will be even cheaper.
Thanks for the review. Easy to understand. Hits all the points for me. I like to keep it simple when I do my DJ mixes - 2 (CD) turntables, a mixer (with a pre-amp), headphones, MD recorder. If I feel a bit more 'aggressive', I break out the amp, passive speakers, laptop, midi controller. After being away from 'the game' for some time, I want to set up a home studio and this was a good starting point. Try "Drifting Away" by Faithless.
Awesome! Glad you liked it! I'll check that song out. I was actually out at a local music recording studio last week and they were using these speakers so it validated them in my mind more seeing professionals use them :)
@@tracenfitzpatrick You can also check out the live version, too: ua-cam.com/video/Wz_ak-sfZbg/v-deo.html
thanks for the review
You bet. Glad you liked it!
Thanks for showing those details about the switch (switch switch... switch😂👏)on the back... and sharing your solutions. Great idea👍
Glad you liked it! Yeah, that kept sounding funny XD
Those JBL are good for mixing and mastering
Heck yeah!
Those JBL speakers rock!
Heck yeah!
new speaker day. the best man....
It sure is
Great intro! XD
Glad you like it!
That's too bad they don't include the cord to hook them up. Thanks for sharing all the links.
Yeah. I'm guessing it's because you can use a couple different types of hookups, so they let you buy which one you need.
I have the same ones, there incredible, I have the matching 10” sub and there all pinned at 10 I am running them through the m audio 192/4 interface, I must mention my room is treated but I’d recommend listening to “I think I’m okay” by mgk it hits all boxes on my speaker test check list
Sweet, I’ll check it out! Yeah they are great. I’ve thought about adding the sub but haven’t yet
@@tracenfitzpatrick I have to warn you when you add the sub it changes the feel of the speakers but it’s great once you get used to it
Good to know
I'm going to have to angle my speakers up! I recommend anything by Van Halen :)
I LOVE Van Halen! Definitely pulling them up!
Keep doing videos
Thanks brother, i'll keep 'em coming!
I need help setting up
Check out the song Will Calls by Diplo! Love that one!
Awesome suggestion! I like it!
Hs5 vs this 306mkii of JBL which is best ? For Mixing-mastering
I haven’t tried the Hs5’s myself, but I do know the Hs8’s are really good, so I’d believe the 5 is pretty nice too. Both solid options, so for me personally, with the holidays around I’d get whichever one has a good sale going on.
@@tracenfitzpatrick thank you so much man for ur answer 💫😊
if you use trs or xlr cables that should get rid of the humming
Thank you for the tip! That’s great to know
Listen to Drifting Inward by Deosil (it’s not a quick listen-you’ve got to give it some time).
I'll check it out!
you convince me to buy
You'll love them!
They might even be on sale right now.
What are the other buttons on the back for?
There’s input sensitivity, boundary eq, and hf trim. I just left all those as they were. I don’t know enough about them to mess with them.
@@tracenfitzpatrick me too lol
This or the eris 5 xt?
I’ve never seen the eris.. so probably up to you, but I do really like these ones 👍🏻
I suggest to get your home wiring checked out as the buzz could well be due to 'earth loop' issues in your house wiring. My own 306P's have no buzz at all after researching and sorting this out. These are great speakers but they need a 'clean' power supply otherwise you are the one who is adding hiss or buzz. Can I also suggest you swap to XLR connections and treat yourself to a low-cost DAC with XLR out. You will LOVE the difference
Awesome! Thank you for sharing. I hadn’t heard that about power supply, and I’ll have to check out some xlr cables.
wrong cable, its an unbalanced cable stereo trs to 1/4 TS (unbalanced), that speakers need a balanced input, as it says on the back just upper the 1/4 conector or xrl conector that is balanced...
you have to search some cable with 1/4 TRS conections (it have tip, a round and a 2º round mase) or search for stereo 3,5 mm trs to XRL conectors (xrl are always balanced).
Thanks so much for the help! Great to know!

Not sure what you mean.
@@tracenfitzpatrick song suggestion for you to listen on that speakers haha
No SYMPATHY FOR THE DEVIL, Rolling stones! OR if you wanna listen to drum covers that are perfect search Sina Drums on UA-cam, she's awesome!
Neil Young
Great suggestion
They're not 6" though, even if they're called 306, they're actually 6.5"...
Well hey, i'll take 6.5 over 6! Thanks for the clarification.
Less talking we can all read specs...
