  • This session focused on the integration of sustainability and responsible management into International Business (IB) education, assessing how research can effectively inform and transform educational practices. It examined institutional challenges and opportunities from multiple perspectives, such as business schools, policy-making, and degree program management, emphasizing the strategic, organizational, and implementation gaps that need to be bridged. The discussion critically evaluated the alignment between academic research and its practical business applications, advocating for a redefined approach that ensures research is impactful in both theoretical and practical realms. The panel explored the complexities of funding research, the cultural barriers in communicating scientific evidence to diverse decision-makers, and the development of research questions in collaboration with practitioners that lead to actionable insights. Moreover, the session addressed the necessity of revising research methodologies and PhD training programs in IB to better incorporate interdisciplinary approaches, enhancing their relevance and efficacy in addressing the complexities of sustainability and responsible management in business education.
