Update - The flathead is a Rock Flathead and not a Blue Spot :)
They are uglier than a normal flathead but really chunky and tasty.

Beautiful morning on Western Port.
I believe the flathead was actually a rock flathead, theyre not normally caught on bait and they take lures every so often. I've caught them spearfishing and they generally seem to have a darker colour and a more rounded head than most blue spot flathead.

you should do food chain challenge go from a little lure, for yackers then use them to catch a fish to use for a shark

Nev, I’ve never understood why so many right handed fisherman reel whith their dominant arm, you would have thought they’d hold the rod with the dominant arm!!!
I'm right-handed and hold rod in right hand. Reel with left hand. Feels odd to fish any other way.

G'day Nev - Fantastic vid as usual! As well as wanting to see you target flounder on lures, I'd love to see you use the Squidtrex to try catching squid. It would be interesting if any takers, and I'd wonder if they were looking for a feed or just curious to reach out and touch the squid like lure.

YES LURE VID😁 this weekend while fishing i caught a very rare south aussie fish called a blue devil on a cockle, endangered so he went back strong, the most beautiful blue ever. do you have them in vic nev?
Yup, Southern Blue Devil is in Vic. There is also the very closely related Eastern Blue Devil and Western Blue Devil. “These fish are found along the southern Australian coastline, from South Australia to eastern Victoria. They occupy reefs, ledges, crevices, and deep cave systems, at depths ranging from 3 to over 40 m, sometimes in small groups containing individuals of sizes varying from small juveniles to mature adults.”

Hey mate, what drone is that you've got? How do you find landing it back to you on the yak feels? I was worried flying one out over the water and using it in the yak could bug it out and cause it to crash into the drink 😂

Interesting.. snook are something entirely different in North America. What’s the scientific name of what you called a snook? Looked almost like a hound fish or needle fish but nothing like the snook I’m used too
