Yes, thats a good point. I have shared just the project file before and it works as well but compressing the entire project folder will make sure to include all files no matter who is receiving it.

If you have the Logic Pro for iPad app, it should open on an iPad, but I don't think it would open on the phone. I'd say you could send the MP3 or wave file and play it on the phone.

Not a downside to your method at all. In this video, I was primarily thinking about sending sessions to other people where it's not as easy to have a physical drive.

Thats great you are getting a new computer! And you will definitely he able to move the files to the new computer. You could either save the file to an external drive or flash drive and simply plug it into the new computer or you could probably compress the file on your current computer and then airdrop it to your new computer. Im a self-made musican and mixing/master Enginier from Germany so I got a lot of projects. my question is if I safe them like u showed in this video will everything be there ? I mean all audio files, plugins in the channel strip and settings of those will it all be there if do it ?
They should be yes but what I would do is put all of your projects on an external drive before you reset your Mac. This way even if something goes wrong in the resetting process you'll still have all of your projects as they were

I'm sorry but this is just wrong. Saving as a package works this method just does not work. Saving a project into folders will work if you compress the containing folder into a zip file not the Logic project which here is a small 5.7Mb project that will have no links to the samples etc.. However this will work really good if you and your collaborator have exactly the same named folder hierarchy... this is a great collaboration method where you are not sending source data (the main audio files) every time you make a change.
I did exact that way to just zip it and now I can't open my files and all my audio files are gone. Thank you for nothing... Everything I spented was for nothing... thumbs down. you have ruined my life completely

I'd like to add, that if you're sending to a mastering house, you will want to freeze and render your tracks first. This way, effects and automation will be printed on your tracks. It's very unlikely that your mixing guy is going to have all the effects that you employed. Just my $0.02
"Save As", not "Save A Copy", otherwise items will be greyed out and you cannot access them!

You have to compress the FOLDER, not the Logic file. Otherwise none of the audio files and attached elements will be included. FYI.

Then your compressed project will be there in that same folder

Is having the entire project from logic Pro better than having just the track stems?
it can definitely be easier to make tweaks when you have the actual logic session, but in many cases, people will just bounce the stems for mixing.
How can I do the same thing but keep the plug-ins?
if you want to keep the plug-ins, you will need to bounce the files in place. Unless the person has the same plug-ins, you do on their end.

no, this is just for logic to logic you can also open GarageBand projects in logic but any other DAWS will just need to share stems

So in that case I would suggest to choose "package"and then select every box you can. It still should all send over just fine that way.
