Big respect for Dan Coles. Not the flashiest of players, but what a rugby brain. Youngsy as well. We probably have him pegged off wrong in SA as someone arrogant, but his a top oke. Lovely podcast. You've gained a new fan.

You can see from this podcast the immense rugby knowledge these pro rugby players have. I feel privileged we live in the age of the podcast as we wouldn't normally get such direct access to the players unpacking the game in such a conversational and organic way.
hearing Pollard speak shows why this guy is such a consistent decision maker and magician at controlling a game

Pollard is the only Springbok backline player who doesn't have a question mark next to his name. His track record speaks for itself : 1. RWC 2015 - highest points scorer. 2. RWC 2019 Final : scores 20 points. 3. RWC 2023 Final : scores all 12 points. All of the above, achieved by the age of 29. The man is a Legend.

South Africans don't usually want to fight hard - they need a reason to be aggressive. A justification. That's why you never play dirty against the Boks. If they start getting upset they will bring hell and 150% effort.

As a Welshman, I really enjoyed listening to this brilliant podcast this evening. I have to say I have huge respect for Steve Borthwick and England. I thought they were by far the best technical and tactical team in the last World Cup, incredible defence and solid set piece. They peaked perfectly for Argentina playing the warm up games heavy legged. I think Borthwick and England were so clever in the semi final and had the perfect game plan against the boks for 70mins , literally giving them nothing to physically hit and box kick contestables right by the touch line which really frustrated them. I simply couldn’t understand the criticism they were getting because they weren’t winning by playing razzle dazzle rugby, come on now they had six months to prepare!! I actually don’t think there that far off the Boks or Ireland. Brilliant pod ! 👌

It took me way longer than it should’ve to recognize the hosts were like, ONLY some of the worlds best rugby players… played in a wc semi a JUST under a year ago and I’m listening away thinking “I wonder who’s hosting or what’s the show this is on? I look and I’m embarrassed to say, I knew I knew both faces but I couldn’t place where from.
I just went to bed immediately after that England semifinal…
What lovely guys though. Last year, to me for the time around the semi they were just “big Dan coles and that bloody youngs” sorry not sorry I’m just a fan and that’s how it goes when the final is so close. I was spouting out vitriol aggressively the last time I saw these two, but that game was really not a fun watch, I think I just wiped it from
memory….feel a bit shitty now... In fairness to me though, I don’t think too much about the English rugby team outside of test matches.
Just btw this content is EXACTLY what’s interesting to fans who wonder what it must be like. I mean, I was captivated.
I watch football and the personality around the game has gone. Interviews and podcasts are all the same questions and answers.
I loved hearing how strange that congratulations/commiserations moment was. That’s what normal fans are interested in hearing about. Right there, the stuff that we can genuinely only imagine.
    Polly, you the man.
    Youngsy. Coles. nice one boys.
Oh ok Yeah I also listened to the Martin Johnson pod, also wicked. Also never actually looked a the screen, but I never missed a word.
Yeah man this podcast, I’m here for it. Appreciated kindly
