For sandbars, Boca Grande Sandbar a little north of here or Keeywadin down south near Marco Island will likely have the most. We don’t have as many Sandbars in our particular area but Pelican Bay is a pretty popular one and get get pretty busy in a nice weekend.
Can you help me with a question? I am a first time boater. I am moving to NW Cape Coral home with indirect gulf access this July and have ordered a Ranger Tugs R-27 with a draft of 3 ft. I am worried that the deep draft is going to make it difficult for passengers to get off the boat to walk to the beach. Would you say so?
Thanks for commenting! I imagine that a 3’ draft will make it more difficult. Something I have seen many people do is bring a small step ladder with them and lean it against the boat with the other side in the sand for people to climb down more easily. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!
We keep a Mainship 390 trawler at Burnt store marina and make frequent trips into Pelican Bay to spend nights at anchor. We purchased a small dingy to take to shore. I would imagine that could be a good option for your tug as well. I love those boats....great choice you made!

We’re actually members of Freedom Boat Club, and typically use the Burnt Store Marina location, so we tend to take out different kinds of boats 🚤 🛥 depending on where we are going, how many people we have, and what we are trying to do. We have loved our experience with Freedom Boat Club, though it may not be the best fit for everyone. I’ve been thinking of doing a video on the club since a lot of people may not be aware of it. Does Burnt store marina have ramps to launch a boat?
