Hi Stephanie, probably you won't see this but I wanted to reach out and ask how your time at Yonsei University was. I am thinking about studying abroad at Yonsei University and was wondering how your experience was? As someone coming from the US is it easy to make friends in Korea, how are the classes, the environment etc. Is it good to know some Korean before you go? Thank You
This might be a weird question, but did you bring a robe and shower sandals since the bathrooms are used by the entire floor? I'm going to be there in a couple of weeks for the summer program and couldn't find much info anywhere else about how that works ㅠㅠ
Ooo congrats on going to the summer program 🙂. I brought a big towel to wrap myself with when going to the shower rooms and then bought shower sandals from daiso in Korea! I’m sure you can find shower robe and sandals in Korea once you get here, if you find packing everything an issue!
@@stephanielim2841 Gotcha, thanks so much for the info!! Also, watching your blogs has been very reassuring since I feel like know a bit better what to expect, so thanks for making them 😁
i'm going for this fall semester and I just wondered how the showers work, I read something about a 6 second button, is it always busy etc? and for the shared kitchen, is there only 1 for the entire floor?
Yes.... It's legit 5 to 10 seconds depending on the shower stall, so you have to find and pick the right stall that has the best water pressure and what not. Yes, one for the entire floor, but for the most part, no one really uses it.
Hello, I will be going to Yonsei upcoming spring time, I was wondering (since I had heard this from a friend) If the dorm housing system has a curfew on which students can not leave the Yonsei grounds and what not, would be helpfull to know 😄
hi! i'll be living in i-house this fall and i was wondering if you need a lan cable or if there's wifi? and also what kind of plug adapter did you use?
there is wifi, but is suuuuper inconsistent for zoom. I often could barely take my class. Id recommend bringing a lan if you can because the one I bought at art box was 40 bux in Korea. plug adapter? if you want to convert from american to korean I just use a converter from any convenience store.
Hi! A few questions: do you like living in I-House so far and how would you say it compares to SK (besides the bathroom situation)? Have you been able to make friends in I-House and SK both? Would you recommend it?
Honestly, it was definitely hard adjusting at first but once you're a month in, you get used to living there. The dorms are a bit small and sharing a bathroom that was down the hall for me was a bit annoying. Overall, had a good experience. The cleaning ladies refill the hand soap, take out the trash and stuff so that's pretty convenient. I made friends in both! But most of the close friends I had were within Ihouse. I made friends who lived in SK and airbnb's as well.
International house and sk global dorms are different because sk global has single rooms with their own bathroom. International house has shared bathroom for the whole floor.
I read on their website that its prohibited to decorate the room,is that true? 💀Also do you need any special permission for vlogging in the dorm?and you can't take alcohol there??
First, check if your university has a study abroad advisor and talk to them for advice! Then, you can check if your university is connected to Yonsei University, or if it isn't, then you would need to apply as an individual. Hi! Are clothing hangars provided or did you buy them yourself?
HI! love ur video:) was housing process easy? need to prepare myself to snag a single dorm
Hey! Thanks for watching
they provide the bedding but do you have to bring your own duvet cover/pillow cover and mattress sheets?
Yes, they provide pillow, blanket and mattress cover, but I got my own blanket cover, pillow, pillow cover, and extra mattress cover.
