      This is how it is done in Australia, my friend the gap is covered by a molding they call cornice which is made with the same materials as the plasterboard ( that is what they call drywall downunder). Just thought you should know.

      @@universal5197 if you don't do ceilings 1st then you will have a gaps that will crack like in the video. Always do ceilings 1st.

      ​@joey.g easier to install, as you don't need to be as precise. Also and more importantly, the walls get pushed up tight and help support the edge of the ceiling, preventing cracks.

      That’s what I always thought and it makes the most sense to me but had an older guy instruct me otherwise recently. He said something about avoiding wind lift during bad storms if the walls are put up first. ???

      He did leave a gap at the bottom of the wall. But you must see some more of his videos to see why they don't mind gaps at the top.

      He's in AUS, plaster board is done completely different, the top gaps are intentional and the drywallers deal with the finish moulding.
      Move on as you don't have the foggiest idea what you're speaking of.

    Old Pro Tip: Use a rasp to clean your edges up, but not the one they sell in the store because they break too easily. Take a horses rasp and use your chop saw to cut 2 rasps that will last and really clean up the edges.

    Usually top down eg top to bottom. With that being said. It doesn't matter if the work, works an comes out the same, quality, customer satisfied. Do what works not just for you, but for the client and the project. Kudos/salute to ya bro!

    Ceilings first! Ceiling board is too short can still see the framing. If those are treated boards and regular drywall screws the screws will be disintegrated in a few years from the chemicals.

      Haha waht a load of BS. I've been in construction 35 years mainly renovating and remodelling houses. i see a shit-ton of old and new drywall and screws from walls being demolished both treated and untreated wood. The only screws that corrode are when moisture and rot is a problem. So much bullshit theory with effectively zero experience in these comment sections.

      This lumber is spray treated with Boric acid for insects, it’s not pressure treated. Different green.
