I must have watched a hundred different veil tutorials. And yours was by far the best out here on the tube. I want to also say your voice was so soothing and calm. I’m making my daughters veil and we’re less than two weeks away from the big day and after months and months I finally feel like I’m ready and armed with all the knowledge I need to conquer this masssive project. You see she’s counting on me and I only have one chance to make her happy. And this is going to help me do just that. I shall get all the supplies out, I have them all waiting and watch you again on slow and prepared to pause and start you up as needed to master this! Gr this Texas mama thank you
Fantastic tutorial! My story prompting me to make my daughter’s veil is exactly like yours. The first veil we looked at was $800.!! The veil she really liked was $250. I looked at it and knew I could make it. The tulle and comb cost me $11.00! The way you made yours is how I envisioned making my daughters. Thank you! 8-17-24 😊
I came looking for instructions on how to make a veil, and I left more relaxed than I've been all week! you're very informative, but also you have a lovely attitude. can't wait to get working on my veil!
Thank you for your clear and concise tutorial with up close shots of how you sewed and gathered. Do you have a video on attaching a trim to the outer edge of a veil? Thanks again for the best video on this topic on UA-cam!
Love this! Thank you for sharing! I already have my dress which was on sale at the time for $490 and all the veils I’ve looked for are super expensive! Will definitely be making my own! ☺️
thank you for sharing this!! really helpful! What is the type of bead and size on the veil which you are wearing on the video? if I want to make the same veil as yours, how many beads do I need? thanks for your help!! cheers!
This is amazing, thank you so much for this! What is the length of the tulle you used? How much extra do you budget in for the sewing / attachment to the comb?
Wonderful instruction 👍😊 If you were to put lace on the edge wish you could have explained which side to start the comb with 😂lace side facing up or down attaching the comb ??
Uuh i love this tutorial. Veils can be very expensive even though they're very simple. For hijabi brides, using a comb wont be suitable since it wont be secured. Is there something else tht can be used as alternative?
That was a great tutorial. Can you send me the link where you ordered your combe from. There are so many out there with bad reviews so I would like to use the one you used.
Hello Paige, would you please tell us what kind of tulle you use and maybe where you buy it. I have been to my local large sewing and craft store. You know the one. They have a lot of different types. And the ivory that my dress is, is much lighter than the ivory in the store and the white is way to white. Any help would be great! Thank you.
I linked the tulle I used on my blog below the video. It is from Mood Fabrics. They have different colors and you can order swatches to color match. I hope you find the perfect match.
Well, you wouldn't be able to wrap the strip of tulle around the comb, so you need something else to stabilize and anchor it. I would sew a white satin ribbon to the gathered section of the tulle and then sew it to the comb in a way that would hide the thread as much as possible. I avoid using glue, but this situation may call for some glue in a hidden spot.
I'm not sure what the best width would be. I left the width of the bolt of fabric and just trimmed the very edge off. I linked the tulle that I used below. About 52-56 inches.

@@PaigeHandmade Any suggestions on making the lines i'm cutting from the scissors perfectly straight?
Very sharp scissors, going slow, or using a rotary blade.
This is exactly what I was looking for!! Thanks for this tutorial!

Wonderful instruction 👍😊
If you were to put lace on the edge wish you could have explained which side to start the comb with 😂lace side facing up or down attaching the comb ??
how should i do to dont have too many folds? id like to sew a very minimal and simple veils with some very moderate folds
How can I make the bottom more rounded (circular instead of oval) to better match the bottom of the dress
Can it work for a headband instead of a comb?
Uuh i love this tutorial. Veils can be very expensive even though they're very simple.

Would a headband work?
@@PaigeHandmade why didnt i think of that 🤣i think it might work. the wrap around method you used can be applied too. Thank you paige 🙆🏻♀️
I hope it works out for you!
That was a great tutorial. Can you send me the link where you ordered your combe from. There are so many out there with bad reviews so I would like to use the one you used.
I have all the links on my website. It is linked right below the video. Hope that helps. 💕

I had to go online and order my French tool it was very very soft to the touch and it was a lot smaller holes so it was very lightweight too
If you use a comb that has decorative pearls or other elements to it, how would you stitch it together then?
Well, you wouldn't be able to wrap the strip of tulle around the comb, so you need something else to stabilize and anchor it. I would sew a white satin ribbon to the gathered section of the tulle and then sew it to the comb in a way that would hide the thread as much as possible. I avoid using glue, but this situation may call for some glue in a hidden spot.
What is the width of your tule?😊
What would you say the best width is for a Chapel length veil?
I'm not sure what the best width would be. I left the width of the bolt of fabric and just trimmed the very edge off. I linked the tulle that I used below. About 52-56 inches.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Paige do you know how to turn a veil into a cape? xx
A tulle cape? I'm not sure what you mean.
My wedding dress was 200$ and my veil from jcpenny was 35$. Married 26 years.
