Actually I came across statistics about crime and immigration status here in Germany some years ago. Those statistics were very clear that crime rates for people from countries with high recognition rates, at the time predominantly Syria and Eritrea are very low but much much higher for people from countries with low chances for refugee status. The Maghreb countries won hands down as the ones who commited most crimes. This is my personal experience, too. I work a lot with asylum seekers and the trouble makers are those who have had little reason to flee. Sorry to say Pakistanis are prominent among them. 😉

My 2nd cousin was stabbed to death in broad daylight just after new years day walking to a major shopping centre in Melbourne with no relation to the attacker, he was mentally handicapped and the accused who is a frequent drug user is claiming mental health related problems and guess he'l get a small sentence because the system is corrupt.
The four boys were teenagers. The one who stabbed her was out on bail for several other crimes. It is our weak court systems which allow this to happen. The kids know there is no real consequence for their actions. This case has enraged many many people who are now calling for action. Unfortunately there are still do gooders who say "they are only children". It's time to toughen up. Many people are advocating national service or deportation.
