Lyrics:
Said I don't know if I've ever been good enough
I'm a little bit rusty, and I think my head is cavin' in
And I don't know if I've ever been really loved
By a hand that's touched me
And I feel like something's gonna give
And I'm a little bit angry, well
This ain't over, no, not here
Not while I still need you around
You don't owe me, we might change, yeah
Yeah, we just might feel good
I wanna push you around
Well, I will, well, I will
I wanna push you down
Well, I will, well, I will
I wanna take you for granted
Well, I wanna take you for granted
Yeah, yeah, well, I will
She said I don't know why you ever would lie to me
Like I'm a little untrustin'
When I think that the truth is gonna hurt ya
And I don't know why you couldn't just stay with me
You couldn't stand to be near me
When my face don't seem to want to shine
'Cause it's a little bit dirty, oh, well
Well, don't just stand there, sayin' nice things to me
'Cause I've been cheated, I've been wronged and you
You don't know me, yeah, well, I can't change
Well, I won't do anything at all
I wanna push you around
Well, I will, well, I will
I wanna push you down
Well, I will, well, I will
I wanna take you for granted
Yeah, I wanna take you for granted
Yeah, yeah, well, I will
Oh, but don't bowl me over
Just wait a minute, well, it kinda fell apart, things
Things get so crazy, crazy
Don't rush this, baby
Don't rush this, baby, baby
I wanna push you around
Well, I will, well, I will
I wanna push you down
Well, I will, well, I will
I wanna take you for granted, yeah, yeah, yeah
I wanna take you, take you
Yeah, well, I will
I will, I will, I will, yeah
Well, I will, well, I will, yeah
Push you around
And drag you down
I wanna push you around
Well, I will

Remember this is the short version! Ken sang it for 4 hours straight
“Push (4 Hour Version) (Ken’s Version) (From the Vault)” when?
true 😂 that scene was so funny
Yeah we need this version
I laughed when the screen showed 4 hours later
I'd love to sit down with Gosling and have him sing this for 4 straight hours 😂
ryan gosling could literally just have a singing career
He does have a band called Dead Man's Bones, if you're wanting to hear his professional stuff.
@@shawh6937 omg
@@shawh6937 It's a little weird though...be warned 😂
Apparently he was offered to audition to be part of NSYNC but turned down due to his commitment with the Mickey Mouse Club
He totally could have. He did this a lot as a kid I think
It's only the full experience if you put it on loop for 4 hours.
Don't threaten me with a good time
💯🔥😎
barbie’s are patient we gotta give them that
lmfaoo
does it count if it's been stuck in my head for a week?
Can’t stop laughing at the way he pronounces the word ‘granted’ 😂 love it! Was totally singing along when I watched the movie
The way Rob Thomas pronounced it was kinda weird too. I like the way Ryan out-weirded him! 🤪 The way 90s musicians pronounced words was weird in general!
😂😂😂
Me too, singing from the start.
It's cute. He's a doll don't forget. Lol.
I never noticed It til now. Wth is graunow
Everyone is rightfully raving about "I'm Just Ken", but this was THE Ryan Gosling song of the movie for me. The ridiculous heart on sleeve passion for the obviously toxic lyrics, the "four hours later" edit, the glorious tracking shot revealing all the Kens and Barbies on the beach. It all just came together perfectly. The way Gosling pronounces the word "Granted" is going to live rent free in my head for a long time.
also the song makes a lot of sense in the context it's used cause both the barbies and kens were being horrible lol
I really enjoyed both songs
whats funny is the original song is actually about a woman manipulating the narrator (like how the barbies manipulated the kens before beach ken brought patriarchy to barbieland)
@@jacktangent they never manipulated them before that, they manipulated them on the beach when they were singing this song to them(rightfully so)
@@roseturkeyI mean I think more the idea is the Kens felt like they were taken advantage of by the Barbies. Regardless of whether or not they were taken advantage of, the Kens still felt like the lyrics personally resonated with them.
I can’t get Kenough of this song!!! 🤩😍
Damn that hoodie was something 😂

Underrated comment
I swear Ryan sounds EXACTLY like early 2000s soft rock singers, to such a degree that I can’t identify a single one he reminds me of, he just sounds like the epitome of the genre.
Matchbox20 sprang to mind immediately for me!
It sounds like 3 Doors Down to me
100% eddie vedder
Nickelback tbh haha
Heard Daughtry for me.
Everyone in the (packed) theater was having such a blast during this scene, can’t remember the last time I had this much fun seeing a movie
Ahhahahahah
Same!! Everyone my age joined in with the Kens on screen with the chorus! One of the best movie theater experiences I have ever had, full house, so much laughter, joy erupting every like 5 minutes... This is the movie we all need this year 🩷🩷
i watched the movie twice already and both times no one could stop laughing, including me!
It was so fun! People were howling during this scene.
Such a great choice for the movie. I was sitting next to Gen Zers and they were 😂
Every Ken doing their own take on Rob Thomas' style was absolute GOLD.
I love that one of them had the drumkit
This was my favorite song cause I was going though Divorce and
KENS GOT EVERY ACCENED WORK PERFECT!@

this is exACTLY who i thought of during this, i cracked up so hard LOL
@@dianehartung5954He only exaggerated the Thomasisms by about 10%.
I wanna take you for grwauwndnd
I am now fully convinced that Ryan Gosling is the world's most underrated comedic thirst trap.
I knew that when I watched The Nice Guys. Plus he’s never looked better than he did in a 70’s pornstache and polyester pants.
Ever since I saw "The Nice Guys" I've been dying for Ryan to play another comedic role and I'm so glad he's given us Ken. He was hilarious and also looked so hot in the film 🔥
He wasn’t kidding… nor wrong… when he said: HE WAS LITERALLY BORN TO PLAY THIS GODLIKE ICONIC LOCK OSCAR WINNING ROLE
That’s so real. I wonder what nude blob he’s packing under those jeans
I got so hyped for this movie because of Gosling's interviews. Not even just the Barbie/Ken interviews, which are amazing, but ALL of them, going back years. He's incredibly funny. Is he high? Is he in character? Is he doin a bit? Whatever. I fell down a rabbithole and now I am Gosling-radicalized. He can do no wrong!
When he said "I Wanna teyk you fow gwuewuewe"
I felt that.
The “for grahwah” gets me every time 😂😂😂
I like that the song they chose for the Kens to be obsessed over is one about two emotionally distant people forcing a toxic relationship just because they think they should. Really fits with the themes.
wich is even shown in the scene itself both the barbies and kens being toxic towards eachother, with the kens singing "at" them not to them whereas the barbies are lit emotionally manipulating them
@@ipunchedu8884Well… the kens literally destroy everything the barbies build. I would be raging. The barbies were actually too nice to them
@@pagu7706 what the fuck do you mean lol, did you even watch the movie lol, the kens had no homes, were only there for the barbies and treated poorly like objects. it baffles me how many people take the wrong lessons from this movie, as if the movie isn't preachy enough as it is
@pagu7706 the Kens were pretty much forced into permanent homelessness by the Barbies
@@joenationtvrocks They were not, they lived far from them but they had their houses.
1:13 "I wanna take you for grah naw
yah yah " 😂😂
The vocals on those first few lines are insane 😭
I was in *tears* watching this in the theater
While he was trying to size her up.. to see if she was genuine or not… with his eyes while he was playing the guitar at her…
*Ken:* Who are you texting?
*Barbie:* What?
*Ken:* Who are you texting?
*Barbie:* Nobody.
(Ken takes phone)
(Ken reads phone)
*Ken:*
*Ken:* KEN!
😂
the fact i understood this immediately but still got so confused
It's really wild how the solution to the Kens having power was to abuse the love they have for their Barbies, and drive them to violence among each other. Really reminds guys "Bros before hos" I guess.
The best is after he asks the first time he laughs & goes WHOOO ARE YOUUU TEXTING!?!
I lose it everything he shouts Ken 😂
Ryan Gosling as Ken singing Matchbox20 with the 90s grunge accent is something I didn’t know I needed in my life
I know this cover is meant to be a satire in the context of the movie, but this is unironically a bop. Ryan Gosling had no right to go this hard lmao
He fucking ANIHILATED THIS ROLE lol and I agree
Satire in music is hugely underrated
I said that to my sister in the theatre.
I actually think it's supposed to be both genuine and satire, which is genius.
Have you ever listened to his "Dead Man's Bones" album. He was so good with those kids.
Ryan Gosling nearly murdered me. I took a big sip of water and then Ken started playing this. Not choking to death was a miracle.
I completely choked on water during the credit!
It's not fair that Ryan Gosling is super hot AND really funny. The way he sings "Say nice things to me," like he's been crying, it's amazing.
He's insanely hot. To think he was selected for the notebook cuz casting couch thought he wasn't the typical heartthrob handsome guy. Like...he IS.
Wow, these lyrics go so well with the Kenergy at that point in the movie. It takes this song to a whole new level of meaning that I would never have thought about it.
I felt the same... I was between surprised and cringed 😅
Exactly what I thought!
Yeah, a song about an abused man playing while the woman he adores and has dedicated his entire existence to plays his emotions against another man's. It really underscores the pain the original songwriter went through with his abusive GF that inspired the song.
Makes me wonder if Greta Gerwig is a sleeper agent for the Catholic church or something. So wild.
@@ciderhypejust because the song has a deep history doesn’t mean it can’t be applied to other things. When sung from kens perspective it takes on a new meaning. Dude talked about his song being in the movie and was fine with it, which is all that matters lol
@@angel-xi6ie It's the same meaning, mate. That's what Cider was saying.
From starting out on “Goosebumps” and “Are You Afraid of the Dark”, he’s become the world’s greatest Ken. Kudos to you, Ryan Gosling!
He started out on the All New Mickey Mouse Club where he sang and danced to pop hits of the early 90s. So, it's a trip to see him performing more pop-style songs again.
Ikr 😊
Don't forget Breaker High!
@@KathyAnn1978I was meaning more of iconic roles at the start, not the exact first gig. For us millennials, those two shows were iconic so him being in just one episode of each to where he is is hilarious.
I’m glad he survived his encounter with that camera in Goosebumps
I've been listening to this song on repeat for DAYS now. I just adore the way he says 'granted'. It kills me every time 😂

This movie is destined to go Rocky Horror, Sound of Music, or Wizard of Oz and have full on costume, prop, and sing-along-screenings. What an absolute blast of a movie.
Maybe in the sequel Alan will get a song of his own. May G I Joe, the Bruce Banner/Hulk or Evel Kennevil dolls will invade, but a sequel isn't required. I'm already looking forward to seeing it again a zillion times💐🌈💖☀💗
This film stands on its own.
💗 It is Kenough 💗
it’s going to be on broadway. NO. it NEEDS to be on broadway 😂
Exactly ❤❤❤
Part of me wants more of this. Assuming that they are allowed the same exact level of creative freedom, it could work. But I also feel like it'll be hard to replicate it as a lot of the messages around the movie were already 'solved' and it might just be a rehashing.
The song of a Ken to his long-term long-distance low-commitment casual girlfriend.
I love how he matches Rob Thomases facial expressions as well as the other Ken’s when he is singing and pronounces everything like Rob we we’re dying the whole crowd was using this song made me love the movie 10 times more
Bro I was cackling and I feel like my audience was full of older people and parents with kids and nobody was laughing I felt so awkward howling like a Jungle baboon
I hope Ryan at least gets nominated as Best Supporting Actor, if not wins it. Not only did he totally bring it to the movie in a transformative way, his whole career is worthy of note at this point. He's had such a spectrum of performances that's overdue it's recognition.
Ken really made the movie. It wouldn't have been nearly as enjoyable without his energy, not to mention without his subplot the whole movie would've felt unbalanced.
I believe he made it a lead. I know, I know, the lead male goes to Oppenheimer, but not for me. I was never Ryan's fan before, but now... He made the whole 2023. Amazing talent we see as an iceberg, only a little before Barbie.

How the hell did you manage that. I've got Matchbox 20 and Rob Thomas playing every day. They were i. San Diego in May. Best band ever.
Ryan Gosling was fantastic in this movie, if would be so ironic if he won best actor at the Oscars for this.
I honestly want him to win. It's such a wonderful performance from him, and it really stole the show for me.
A man winning in an anti-man movie. Lmao you don't know how the people that vote for this think
@GamerplusMore lol anyone who says this movie is anti man obviously has selective attention and an intense paranoia over "woke" elements in their movies. Seems the roles have reversed and the straight men are the ones crying over discrimination at any opportunity. Yall are worse than the canadian black lives matter
One of the most brilliant and funniest moments in this film. The song that defines the total Kenergy of what he was feeling hahaha.
can the Oscars next year just be Ryan Gosling playing this for 4 hours? and then finish with a beach off
After Barbie and La La Land, Ryan has got to sing more often. And that beach scene with the Kens singing it to the Barbies was funny.
The best version of this song next to the original. Gosling killed it

I can feel Ryan gosling’s character Ken in pain singing this song, as well as I’m just Ken…. All he wanted was to be recognized by Barbie and she only did when he decided to take over.
This is by far the funniest cover of a song ever, completely captured the vibe tho lmao
Please dear god let Ryan do an entire cover album of 90's songs that eventually got on your nerves... if only for the Ryan impressions.

This song still slaps, even in Barbieland
For a minute I was thinking "Why wasn't it Wonderwall?" then the panning motion they used made it clear, the lyrics such as "I want to push you around, and I will."- deliberately picked this one in particular.
It’s the little things, like choosing this over Wonderwall, that made this movie so good
HOW NOT TO LOVE RYAN GOSLING THIS MAN IS SO GOATED
Forgive me if I'm pointing out the obvious here, but this was a pretty smart choice of song. It's easy to make fun of the anguished alt. rock singing style and earnestly earnest lyrics, but it's not just a guy trying to act cooler than he actually is. Because this song, in it's original incarnation, is about a guy standing up to an abusive girlfriend. And even though Barbie isn't by any means abusing Ken, nor is she personally responsible for his gravitation towards toxic masculinity, she IS neglecting his feelings, feelings he isn't that good at articulating in the first place (which is how a lot of men fall into toxically masculine habits to begin with). So it totally makes sense that he'd identify with this song: it's about something much heavier than what he's actually going through, but the feelings are the same.
This scene is great because it’s working on a couple levels. Plus it’s funny and Gosling can sing
@@amorpaz1 Agreed!
So agreed!! Thats why in the end we see Barbie realize Ken felt
left out even tho they were supposed to be friends. Not every night had to be girls night. But Ken also needed to find himself and his identity outside of Barbie ( & “Beach” or the patriarchy) so he could feel ‘Kenough’
@@onecutekat Yup! All joking aside, this movie is a lot more sensitive to the feelings of men than most give it credit for (even the people who like it): the conflict is kicked off by a man who needs someone to listen (like, REALLY listen) to his feelings, but the only ones who are willing to are the wrong people, and it's only resolved when someone just... listens to him for a minute. And again, this is how most men fall into toxic masculinity.
I also love how, even after everything he puts her through and all of her friends saying she shouldn't have any sympathy for him, Barbie never wants to intentionally hurt Ken, as revenge or otherwise, she just wants what's best for her friends.
TBH, I really want one of those "I'm (K)enough" shirts :)
@@gabe_s_videos The movie is very empathetic toward men. I don't understand all the bullshit about how "Barbie hates men," did these whiners watch a different movie?

Blasting this in my mojo dojo Casa house on repeat
I love how he is imitating a country/rock musician lol. Ken came to the real world and stumbled cross cowboys and contemporary masculinity ideas in Western culture. He was trying to be a stereotypical “masculine” man when he returned to Barbieland since he’s still trying to figure out his identity & purpose.
He’s singing like an angsty 90s alt-rocker and he kills it
The way he says “granted” has me weak. Like.. is that even English? 😂
Being sung at is a universal female experience. And it's not limited to only singing. I'm glad women can laugh at this together. Ps i loves the Ken with the drums in this scene.
It’s something I’ve always wanted and it’s like the most romantic thing to me-I always fall for musicians!! But then the lyrics came out and I was like-KEN LOL NOOO. Being left was the biggest gift he could get for his growth 🫂
It's not romantic. Because it's all about them in that moment. You sit there and you're SUPPOSED to gush at them.
@@RaymWillwell yes and no. See at first singing was okay because the singing was to the woman like the song was all about them. So most enjoyed it and were like “Aw cute”. But then it started to get overused. Then the wonder wall kids came in and ruined it even more. Expecting affection back for singing to them even tho the original point of it was to write/cover the song for the girl simply cause u cared about them that much
@@RaymWillnot necessarily?
One time when i was a sophomore , i went to my friend's school jazz performance. i didnt know he liked me and he pointed right at me before doing his sax solo... i was SOOOOO embarassed lol cringe af
Thanks Barbie for bringing Matchbox 20 back to relevance
I’d soooo love to see a full production music video!
