- Tom Holland talks to “Extra’s” Terri Seymour about his dark new psychological-thriller series “The Crowded Room,” which he starred in and executive produced. Tom opens up about what drew him to the project and exploring themes about trauma and mental health. He also spoke about taking a year off after the “difficult” role and whether we might see him swing back into his Spidey suit for “Spider-Man 4”! “The Crowded Room” premieres June 9 on AppleTV+.
Tom is such an amazing actor. All his projects outside of marvel are brilliant. I wish he is recognised for these types of things more.
all of them? chaos walking and uncharted weren't very good (IMO) and I know I haven't seen all of the things he's been in, but your opinion doesn't line up with my own, which is okay. I love Tom as an actor as well. can you suggest some movies he's been in that you really like besides Cherry and The Devil All the Time if those make your list? those are the only 2 I can vividly remember watching besides the other 2 I named and the marvel movies. I think this show was the BEST thing he's done, so I'm definitely interested to hear what other movies you think he's great in. I want to check them out ASAP!!!

Reminds me DiCaprio with a young gentlemen twist. Crowded Room is amazing. This show will definitely define him, and make him work on more challenging movies and work with the big boys.

well he IS young, but also he doesn't actually work for a living and his life is incredibly easy and pampered, so that helps... there's no secret. it's just money and privilege.
@@lazylion420 how do you know his life is easy? People like you are part of the problem, just because he’s famous doesn’t mean he’s privileged or pampered at all, he’s been acting all his life as well so he clearly works hard and taking roles like this can have a major impact on your mental health.
If you think playing the role of a person with a dissociative personality disorder for 10 months is easy, I seriously suggest you read up on it .

A year off for mental health? I wish I could do that, I only get 5 days off in a year where I work. I recently used up 3 days in 2 months because I just couldn’t handle the stress and here I am with 2 days left and 6 months to go.
That's bullshit, sorry you get so few sick days :( the stress of feeling like you can't leave or take the time you need only makes it worse

Actually I think Tom is taking a year off from ACTING, it doesn't mean he is not working at all (he could be getting prepared for his next role, working with his mom charities, who knows?)
I love toms answers, but I feel that if you are a “fan” of Tom, then no matter what type of role he plays or will play in, in the future, that you should a always stick with being a fan not a hater. I’m a Tom fan ever since Spider-Man Homecoming. I hate how people can hate on Tom for just simply doing his job, and yes I understand that it’s a different type of role we aren’t use to but that’s a good thing. Love you Tom.

I'm so glad he took a year off. Actors need to take care of themselves. Watching the film was so sad. I thought he did his greatest acting. So many different characters he played. It was like Sally Fields played Sybil.
Cannot wait to see this and in another interview he said he would start filming Fred Astaire early next year
He is the only actor who could play Fred Astair and do him justice.

If you need a year off for a role that could alter you in a bad way. You shouldnt have taken the role. Being uncomfortable on set like this is not right. Where is the protection for atraight actors, yet we talk about mental health BS!
