Mladá Boleslav, 15 February 2022 - With the launch of this latest MONTE CARLO variant, ŠKODA completes its new, fourth-generation FABIA range. The iconic name ŠKODA initially introduced exclusively for the FABIA has symbolised a sporty lifestyle since 2011. It commemorates the brand’s many victories at the legendary rally. The black body details underscore the new FABIA’s dynamic appearance, while the interior is characterised by red accents and carbon-look detailing on the armrests and dashboard. A choice of four engines deliver between 59 kW (80 PS) and 110 kW (150 PS).
The sporty MONTE CARLO variants have contributed to the FABIA’s success since 2011. They are inspired by the brand’s numerous motorsport victories at the legendary rally and complement the Active, Ambition and Style trim levels. The powertrain options available for the MONTE CARLO variant include three triple-cylinder 1.0-litre engines and a four-cylinder 1.5 TSI, with power outputs ranging from 59 kW (80 PS) to 110 kW (150 PS).

As the first Opel Corsa rolled off the assembly line in 1982, it opened the first chapter of an ongoing success story. Today, 40 years and six model generations later, more than 14.5 million units have left the plants. The bestselling small car is still hugely popular also as the all-electric Corsa-e. Opel is celebrating the jubilee with the “Corsa 40” special model.
The limited edition - Opel will produce only 1,982 units - comes with a new colour for the bodywork called “Rekord Red” that is highly reminiscent of the red used on the original Corsa A. Contrast is provided by the black roof and black coloured décor such as the Opel Blitz emblem, the tailgate opener and the centrally located Corsa nameplate. Seventeen-inch light alloy wheels in glossy black with inserts in matt grey underline the dynamic appearance.
Inside, the “Corsa 40” is not only nostalgic but also highly modern. The interior is unconventionally stylish, just like the first generation, especially the modern interpretation of the original tartan seat trim. Buyers will also be able to display the timeless pattern themselves - at no extra charge - with limited edition tartan socks in today’s design as well as that of the original.
The limited edition badge is equally unique. Each “Corsa 40” will possess its own label numbered from 0001 to 1982, located on the black décor of the passenger-side instrument panel. In addition, like every Corsa, the special model offers numerous comfort and safety features as standard. The list ranges from the Multimedia Radio (compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto) and LED headlamps to electronic driver assistance systems such as front collision alert with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection.
On the occasion of the “160 years of Opel” and “40 years of Opel Corsa” anniversaries, the brand with the “Blitz” is once again generating customer enthusiasm for the successful small car. The Opel Corsa is the bestselling small car on the German market so far this year. In addition, the Corsa-e leads the sales figures for battery-electric small cars in Germany.
