I might be the minority but I've enjoyed my time playing the previous 2Ks as sim player only. But the addition ofmore animations, fluidity and overall feeling in 2K25 has been the best yet. Can't wait for more modding showcases and the eventual release for the sliders shady
💯🎯 same here. im just a sim nation guy and from a sim standpoint, this game is top tier. i dont play my player so i don’t have the same gripes about the game like they do.
if you play offline this is the best 2k weve seen in a very very long time , im having a blast go ahead and buy , the animations are amazing you really feel like you re playing with exact moves the players have irl .
It really does. It feels like a dream because I never thought we would see it go towards simulation rather then arcade style. Now we have next gen on PC and I am loving it.
If you stay away from those predatory modes meant to have children drain their parent’s credit cards for VC it’s a fantastic game. I’m having a blast in play now and My NBA eras as the 2002 Rockets
Hadn’t bought a 2k since 22 and after watching vids of the new pro play animations and how smooth everything looked I bought it. Best 2k out of the box in a very long time & fun too.
This is why you should work for 2k (aka they should hire you) you know the players tendencies and logic. It’s genuinely refreshing. Also are the sliders going to be for pc only or also on console (through the sharing stuff
IMO, it is all about the purpose of the user's gaming. If you're into the park, MyCareer and spending VC's to have the best player online then its one way to play. But on the other hand if you are the guy who wants to have a better simulation of gameplay, shot fixes, better cyberfaces, better courts and overall feel of the game then I wouldn't buy it straight up when it comes out. I rather buy it when it is a little cheaper and most of the mods have started to come together with the gameplay.
Facts. All I care about is MyPlayer. There aren’t too many sports game worth paying full price for, unless you’re a content creator. Heck I refused to pay full price for College Football. I just got it this past weekend for $40
Bro I stopped buying 2k at release years ago. Only because of your work in the Modding community have I even purchased this game again. Thank you and the rest of the modding community for making this game playable again.
Yo shady the new defensive/offensive settings work amazing. When the cpu crashes the boards, it makes user transition so much better, and the switching is good bc theres always mismatches
I think a very fair reason for choosing to play 24 or earlier vs 25 right now (september 24) is the fact that It's still very early in terms of mod development for 25, even more so considering It's a whole new gen for PC. On the other hand with the previous gen you can do almost anything you want in terms of modding, courts, jerseys, rosters, tools, etc. For me personally the breaking point of no return will be when (and if 🤞) Something like the Hook or 2K Tools is realeased for 25 with the same capabilities that we had for 23, 24, etc. For now I own all three latest versions on PC (23, 24 and 25) but I keep going back and forth. I'm split between continue playing myleagues that I've got heavily modded and customized to my liking in 23/24 and I highly enjoy, but at the same time playing around and excited for the possibilities for 25 but still not able to materialize them yet... We'll see how the year ends.
Can't agree more Shady, rarely previous 2k, you can do crossovers, pull-up then score right in front of the CPU's defender hand or face, I remember you have to like do pick and roll and then manipulate the angle, or non-stop running off ball pick and roll to get an open shot But what I still dislike and am disappointed about 2k25 is there is no dynamic defense by CPU, one of the previous 2k have it, like using Luka as PG, CPU should put a big wing to guard him, not just automatically put a PG to match up Anything you can think of Shady to fix this? And do you agree with me bro?
I don't see this as dynamic or At least something that should automate. Like in real life, it's basic 5 V 5 with each position guarding its counterpart, it's on the coach to make those adjustments. Whether thet be at the start of the game or throughout the game, I don't think 2k should automate that, takes away the immersionaand due to the nature of postiinless basketball at this point of the NBA, there's more varying sizes with positions and 2k can't take account to all of that. Better for you to do that in game as you see fit. Just my two cents.
Yeah @Shady Mike Gaming 2k is real decent this year I got it on gamepass waiting for a sale it’s $45 now instead of $70 I usually wait till Christmas for 2k for updates and your sliders lol! Whenever you release them I’m going be like a kid in a candy store cus defense is viable to me you can really do something with your slids 💯
2K25’s pro play is like NBA 2K7’s addition of signature jump shots. A defining moment in sports gaming that is going to shape the franchise headed forward.
OOWI SH@@ you've made me wanna buy the game asap for my PC because I'm all about the sim aspect of Basketball!! I will support you soon as I download the game because what you showed is exaactly how I try to make the game play when I "fix" the rosters manually
While I also agree about ya opinion of 2k24, I thought that last year was the realist 2k we’ve gotten since they started. But this year MAN feels like a polished 2k24 on what should’ve been the pro play standard. I don’t know what more they can do up from here now that we’re at this point tho in terms of realism. Other than making ai damn near a human
I just don't like how the rotations are trash. In the Steph era, while playing the Pistons as the Raptors, Reggie Jackson played the full game, I sim to the end to see if the simulation fixes the issue, but they still kept Jackson in for 48 minutes. I even saw Tony Parker play 49 minutes in a full regulated game with no overtime. I simulated that to the end as well. Rotations are key, even in-game, I just don't see why they have it like that unless they have full focus on MyCareer and MyTeam.
I understand the sliders or rules on contracts and salary caps needs fixing too. Have you looked at this. Reports say lots of good players just asks too much and 3-4 years into a sim the FA market is overloaded with very good players. Guess those sliders/rules needs to be looked closely when playing ERA even more so. This is just what I heard so take it for that.
Yeah this actually ends up working fine for me because my sliders / rosters lower everyone's overalls anyway lol but no I haven't looked into it in-depth. Nor do I (did I?) take it into account when making this video or my review. I'm on the record, 2K has the worst offseason in sports gaming, especially when it comes to free agency logic, but even with that knowledge I think the game is worth it for what we CAN change.
@@ShadyMike Those logics in trading, contracts and such is what all games struggles with, more or less. After all it's not easy to put human behaviour by the GMs and players into a algorithm in games. We have to roll with what we get. Your fixed sliders I am sure go a long way for this game. Thanks for your effort Shady. I will stay tuned to any changes you bring forward.
2k25 is one of the better games from 2k but like you I do not play park anymore but when I did I was pretty decent.....but the constant patching of builds i spent money to perfect....& selfish park players that showboat blow the game shooting bullshit & blame it on the game trash when I was standing in the corner set fr a wide open shot...so yeah the micotranactions & toxic community drove me to only play sim,, or nba play ....but really enjoying the game this year....* & shooting is fine can be challenging @ times & there is a learning curve ....which most dnt want to adjust
Personally I think 2k was worth buying, yes I was "that guy" not currently working who made the choice, not between eating or 2k nothing like that but I was gifted 2k25 on ps4 and yes there is alot features missing, courts and player likenesses but the gameplay is much improved and iam having fun playing despite 2k completing over charging for a game that's just £10 cheaper than the ps5 version but it is what it Is iam a strictly myleague offline player so I will get out of it as much as I want. I think 2k have done a good enough job addressing some issues and the gameplay will be great with some slider adjustments
Oh it's worth it. As soon as I heard they updated PC to next gen, I got it. I am not disappointed. I do have some frustrations though that most would never even care about. They have the same net and rim sounds for the past 8 years. Some of the swooshes sound very fake and hollow sounding. They have the same player chatter on the court for ever now. Nobody ever yells "AND ONEEEE". It just feels lazy that they have never recorded new sounds. Overall though I am having a blast. Gotta give 2k there props this time.
Missed the last 2 years. This game is fantastic. Also don’t agree with VC store moans. JUST PLAY THE GAME. Why does everyone want a 99 within the first week?
I like the defense on 2K25 more than 2k24. I don't like that on the console version of 2K25 (as of last Friday when I last checked) I could not load my own custom roster during play now and I never play online. 🤦♂️The PC version doesn't have that issue somehow 🤷♂️
What the hell did 2k do with the shooting? I just downloaded it but didn’t have enough time settle in because of work. But shooting around with Luka was extremely difficult to green the shot when I tested it.
2K, should do like EA did this year for FC. They built sliders for simulation gameplay for offline players. They still have their default gameplay as well. That’s a start, I think. They should hire you for doing so. Would be a win-win 👏🏻
Only park players complain anyone who played 17 knew how much of a disgrace that game was compared to 2k16. 2k18 was so bad it made 2K17 look like the best thing since sliced bread😂
