I usually like Elizabeth Banks, but I don't even know what the point of that cringy running gag was. 🤔🙈 Banks wasn't actually trying to mock Dua Lipa, was she? Or was it a reference to the fact that nominees of different backgrounds were in this category (not uncommon for the Golden Globes )? Yes, people talk differently. Yes, languages have all kinds of linguistic features. And yes, people from Great Britain, the original English-speaking "country," have a different accent than, for example, the Americans, who developed their own English variety about 600 years later. ...which was about the time I started waiting for the punchline. ^^
