I have many years of experience much like yours trying to photograph beavers. I have a couple of pictures of them sleeping in the sun at two different ponds. They are not the most photogenic animals but their fur can really turn to burnished gold in the sun. Here is warning about trying to get close to the pond. Be very very careful when you are walking in that marsh grass anywhere around the beaver pond. The beavers often dig several tunnels many (25 to 30 meters) yards into the bank and you can't see any sign of them when you are walking. I was walking the marshy area around a big beaver pond one day and a tunnel caved in under my feet. I went into the water almost up to my waist and was very lucky I didn't break a leg. It took a lot of effort to get out of that hole, so be very careful around beaver ponds. And thanks for posting your adventure.
Trond, you are without doubt one of the most inspiring wildlife photographers out there for me. Thank you so much for sharing with us every journey you go on. Purely out of this world. Never stop! All the best Tom
Beautiful shot, as always. The Beaver (North American version) is Canada's national animal. I've got wonderful experiences with Beavers, including watching one break through ice like a surfacing submarine :) I prefer photographing them in the water; getting shots of them out of the water cutting down trees is very interesting but not nearly as beautiful I don't think. Never had an issue with them except twice when walking my dog along a river very aggressive Beavers (hissing and 'barking') forced our retreat! :) Thanks again for your great videos and fantastic photography!
Hey Trond, I love your videos! You & I have very nearly the same pursuits. I have also been trying to capture images of a beaver out of the water. I’m glad you listed info about your camouflage in the description, I was about to ask but now I don’t have to. Good work.
Hi Trond what a beautiful experience you had with the beaver and given the effort you put in it's only right you should reap some rewards. Until next time take care and stay safe my friend.
I really hope that I that lucky that I at least get to see a live bever some day And yet better. To photograph one.. That would be awesome. :D Beautiful video Trond and absolutely stunning shots as always ;)
Hey Trond, Greetings from Australia. Its great to see your hard work and persistence to capture such amazing images, Often people just see a photo and don't appreciate what it took to capture. Truly inspiring! Keep up the great work 😀
Hey Trond, my wife and I went out to see if we could find some local beavers last weekend but didn't find them. So this video gives me hope when we go back! Great video Trond! As always!! :) I see you are using a Peak design Travel tripod, but what kind of head is that? It looks very good and light to travel around...
I really like your videos man! Keep up the great work. I've been trying to photograph red foxes in a forest nearby but it just doesn't work, would you have any tips for photographing red foxes?
Wow.....thank you so much! I have tried red foxes my self....but they are so skiddish here. So have not had any success yet. But I think the best thing would be to find a den, and wait there.
beautiful :) great patient and you are totally right about it, no car, no sound, no chit chat annoying :) thanks for share
Thank you Vu!
Congrat Trond. I live in south of France, and beavers of Rhône river are my Graal. Thanks for all these dreams...

Great video and images. Beavers are very hard to get pictures of because they are shy and are active at night, at least here where I live.
Thank you Jeff! Luckily they come out before dark here...as this is a place with no human activity.
Super video
Thank you!
That's real commitment, wildlife photography is definitely hard. Excellent video
