I've had endometrial cancer and breast cancer, with one recurrence of each. That was almost 20 years ago; I'm 70 years old now. So, there is life after cancer!
As a 73 yr old subscriber, I just went back to inception of your channel and watched every video your mom was on. I have in the past googled for an obit for her. I just wished you’d share with us how she is as I feel like I am mourning her loss as I slowly mourn the loss of my 91 year old mom that is on Hospice in her memory care unit.
My mom had the same type cancer. She lived another 30 years, and passed at age 92 from other issues not related to her cancer. Please tell your mom that we are keeping her in our thoughts.
Dr Dray--as an only child who has both parents with cancer and being a doctor--"don't worry" are words I hear every day. I tell myself those words, my parents tell me those words, and I try so hard to not think as a doctor but to stay strong as their daughter. This video literally tears me up inside because I can only imagine what you are going through. We all love you and your mom so much. I cannot even type these emotions. But, I know that we all look forward to the day when we see her in your vlogs again--your Sunday coffees will be even more precious
Reed Berger Fleishman , I had such a difficult time finding the proper adjectives to convey my thoughts and emotions. As a subscriber, my heart is with you. And thank you for so beautifully articulating what I could not. HUGS.
@@maryastark8075 that is so special. Your comment (and this video) made me cry. I wish I could hug Dr Dray and her mom for the both of us. thank you :)

Today I got a video of an old vlog with you and your mother. I watched it for old time sakes and it brought me to this video. I think of her from time to time. I sure hope she made a recovery. She has been missed.
This made me cry! My mom passed in January. She was 96 and had Dementia for the last 7 years or so. I am 74 and it's still not easy. I will be praying for your beautiful mom and you to stay strong! It's true the truth is better than content. Thank-you for being transparent! We ALL love you both!!!
I'm 68, my Mom passed 16 years ago and I'm still missing her. I think about her every day. You aren't alone in your grief. We can be thankful that we were fortunate enough to have had mothers that we miss.
I’m so sorry for your loss. My dad passed away this February 2nd. He was also 96. It’s not easy no matter how old they are. Just try to be thankful she lived a long life and is no longer in pain.
I don’t know why but when your mom said “I love each and every one of you”, I got tears in my eyes. So genuine. Love you guys, sending you hugs from a fellow Texan❤️
My mother also was diagnosed with the same cancer when I was younger. She has since recovered. I wish both you and your mother lots of love and strength. She is very fortunate to have such a great daughter and support system.
I'm a Gyn/Onc and I know exactly what she is going through. She will have good days and bad days but after treatment is over, she will be fine. I am struggling with treatment decisions for my patients with the current COVID crisis.

Dr. Dray and Mom: How beautiful of you. I am a newly-retired RN infusion/chemo (Certified) RN...I have been called to return part-time at 65 y.o. to keep it all going for our precious patients just like your Mom. You and your videos are a joy, however, please take care of yourselves. We love you, Mom (my age) and Tybee! PS: Hey, I am a nurse...how can I be of service? And Andrea honey, WE ARE HERE FOR YOU AS WELL.❤ ❤
This is the first time I have ever commented on a UA-cam video. I have watched and learned many things from you Dr. Dray, but I have most enjoyed your times with your Mom. My Mom passed away12 years ago and I miss her so much. You and your Mom have brought me great joy. I send many prayers to both of you and wish your Mom a speedy recovery. Blessings to you. XO
It's very strange, how much I feel - and probably all of us feel, like we know you in person. I hope, Dr. Dray, that you have somewhere or someone you can be vulnerable with...I sense that you are someone who stays strong for everyone. I am watching this, and I honestly thought your mom was going to announce something completely different, and what she said hit me very hard...so I can only imagine what you are going through. I am crying watching you be strong. Social distancing during this pandemic isn't easy for all of us but must be harder for those whose loved ones are at higher risk. I trust that both of you will get through this. I appreciate your sincerity and care for your viewership.
Dr. Dray, I have watched you for a long time, and absolutely adore you, your mom, and Tybee. You feel like a friend to me. I have not seen a video of your mom since this video. I think of her often. I finally felt compelled to comment on this video from 3 years ago because I have had a gut feeling that your mom did not recover. I just wanted to let you know how much joy you and your mom brought to me. Your videos of you continue to bring me joy, like a friend stopping to visit every day. I hope I am wrong about your mom and that she is alright. However, I just wanted to let you know that no matter what happened, you are always in my thoughts and prayers. ❤
I’m a fellow houstonian and my mom has cancer almost two years ago. Your mom really is in good hands and sending prayers! If she needs anything dropped off at your PO Box let me know!
My mom is also undergoing chemotherapy and it's terrifying on another level with the daily threat of covid-19. I live with her and my grandmother who's in her early 90's. We're under lockdown and have only left the house once in the past four weeks - for essentials only. My thoughts are with you and your mother during this difficult time. 💕 Thank you for sharing with us.
Just found this video (Feb ‘23). My thoughts are with your Mom, you and darling Tybee. I’m truly honored, as a simple viewer, to be considered important to you guys. The education and smiles you’ve given me can never be repaid. Thank you for always talking to us with respect, knowledge and humor. Love all three of you. ❤️🐾☮️💕
Dr. Dray, for some reason your mom has been on my mind lately. Maybe it is because it is the holidays and I miss my own mom, or because I miss my sister who succumbed to cancer during the pandemic. In your present-day videos (from when I'm writing this) we are approaching Christmas 2022, and you have the JOY sign in the background of your vlogs. That reminds me of your mom and her precious dog. I hope her recovery went well. If possible, please give her my best wishes for a healthy and happy holiday season.
Your mom is such a sweetheart, I'm so sorry she has to go through this. Sending TONS of love to both of you during this time.... we can all get through this!
You'll pull through this, Mama Dray. My grandfather had cancer three times, and it was soul shredding each and every single time. Recovery is possible, and if you're in good hands, that's the most important thing. You've got this. You're strong, and you'll pull through. Most importantly you've got each other. You'll both be all right. I am so sorry it had to happen 1. at all and 2. during this trying time. Dr Dray, thank you for all your work, your enthusiasm, your love. Your mom will be fine. She'll be all right. Hold on together. You've both got this. Wishing you all the best. We are all thinking of you two. ❤
We might come here to escape , but most importantly we come here because we are a family. I remember back in the day when your mom was preparing to move to Houston and then getting to know her. She’s mama Dray to a lot of us. Prayers and all good things to her and you! We are all in this thing called life together.❤️❤️
Your video was produced a year ago. It is now 4/21. I just fell in like with your mother. She reflected many of the qualities my mother had. Know that whatever transpired between the time of your vlog and now, I hope your mother has recovered and you have special times together once again.
Prayers for your Mom. She is lucky to have such a smart physician daughter to be her health advocate through this process. The world is a better place because you both are in it. ❤️
Prayers to your Mom as she goes through this journey. I'm praying for her, and you too! Your Mom is strong. I had a hysterectomy two years ago, and went thru treatment. Glad she has her 🐶 Tybee, and a Wonderful, loving daughter to stand by her. ❤🙏❤🙏😘
I couldn’t help but cry. I am so sorry you are going through this. I am going to pray for you, Mama Dray and Dr. Dray. Thank you for trusting us to share a personal part of your life. I believe in the power of prayer. 🙏 sending you love and hugs and lifting you up in prayer.
My mom also had endometrial cancer, went through a radical hysterectomy and massive radiation. It was such a scary time as a daughter, as she is my best friend. Thankfully, that was in 1996, and she is still here with me today! Those were dark days, but faith and love got us all through. The treatment was extremely harsh, but it worked. Sending prayers for your mom and you. There’s nothing like the mother-daughter bond.
This was such a touching video. I hope now 2 years later that your mom is doing better. Sending you and your mom warm wishes for continuing healing and recovery.
I’m so sorry Dr Dray, I’m in floods of tears I don’t know what else to say ...I know I’ve never met you but please believe me when I say I love you both and my thoughts are with you ...xx💙😔
Ohhhh Dr. Dray, I can't help crying.... We love you and your mom so very much, and we care so deeply about you both. You both touch our lives in a way that is indescribable-- even though we may not actually know you, it feels like you are both such dear friends because of the way you share your lives with us, and because of the caring and tenderness you convey to us, and to each other. Wishing your beautiful mom heartfelt wishes of comfort-- she will get through this, and thank God you are close by and there for her. Sending you both so much love and well wishes, I feel like my heart is going to burst xxxxx
I definitely was in tears. My son is a radiologist in NY and he starts tomorrow on the Covid floors. Not enough protective gear of course. He’s so sweet and so good to his Mom as you are.
Oh my Gosh, Dr Dray! Do NOT worry about how WE as an audience feels.. or how we will grapple with this. You take as much time as you, your mom and puppy needs. Period. 💜 We'll be here when you get back.
Dear Dr. Dray, although we have never met, I can’t tell you how much I have learned from you and how much joy you have brought to my life. I found you on UA-cam in January as I was recovering from surgery and I love seeing your devotion to your Mother as much as I have loved learning about how to truly care for my skin. Your purity of heart and spirit truly shines through your videos. After watching today’s video, I immediately prayed for you and your Mother as I believe that God answers prayers! As I was praying, though, I started crying. As I wiped my tears, I smiled, then laughed as I said to myself, now I have to reapply my Purito sunscreen! 🤣 That’s a tribute to you, Dr. Dray! Your UA-cam family is with you and your Mother, Dr. Dray! 🙏🏾
I can’t express how much we love you both and we are keeping Mom in our hearts and prayers! Please let her know we are thinking of her and praying for her. Sending you both light and Love! ❤️🌻❤️🌻❤️🌻
Dr Dray, last night a video with your mom from 6 years ago popped up for some reason. It was so good to see her as I’ve been following you for a long time. Today this one showed up titled “Where have I been “. I gasped with happiness for a moment before I realized it was the last time we saw her. What you said holds true for today but for different reasons and it brought me to tears. It’s hard not knowing what happened to her because you both talked about being honest. Maybe it’s too difficult to talk about, but I want you to know that many of us care very deeply for her and we’ve come to love you. God bless your mom even if she’s in heaven now, and God bless you too. Much love and respect. ❤🙏
I am humbled that you & your Mother would share such a personal information with us. Thank you. How brave you both are. I hope your Mom knows that 100% we are behind her, thinking of her and wish her a speedy recovery. She is very much loved and missed from the vlogs, it is absolutely my favourite thing watching you together. It is really quite inspiring and such a positive and motivating volg, I always look forward to it. Definitely you both have helped me through some difficult times with a bit of escapism and if there is anything I can do to help, please let me know. ❤️☺️ Warmest wishes to you , your Mom & the little dog 🐶
Sending you warm heart and love to you and everyone! I'm an oncology RN/NP. It's absolutely indescribable what we all have been going through. Dr. Dray, thank you for all you're doing. Mom, we love you! Everyone, stay safe!
Dr. Dray, I was thinking about your mom and looking for an update to see how she was doing, and this 11 month old post is all I could find. I hope that is not as ominous as it feels. My heart goes out to you as a health professional dealing with the illness of a family member. I know from experience that it is hard to back off and trust the specialists to treat your loved one appropriately, and also to not make yourself crazy thinking you should have seen the signs sooner, or used your knowledge to prevent the illness. You and your mom are in my prayers.
I saw someone comment recently that she passed away so I started digging though old videos and your right, all I could find was this too 😞 I hope that other commenter was incorrect 😭
I’m watching this for the second time . I hope she is doing well .I miss your videos of the two of you .She has our prayers . Thank you for sharing 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I’m so grateful to have found such an honest an genuine UA-camr. You and your mom and Tybee have truly become like family to myself and my family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your mom during this distressful time! Thank you for always maintaining a positive attitude!
My mom was my rock when I went through breast cancer with all the treatments they could throw at me ! I know it hurts that you can't be near your mom ! You have to be strong in a way that should not be because of this virus ! Love you and sending prayers and best wishes to you and your mom and Tybee! All will be well one day ! I am a 16 year cancer survivor ! They have great treatments these days! Take good care of yourself ,and know you have all of us behind you ! ♥️🍀
We’re so thankful for everything that you’ve done Dr. Drays mom you’ve raised a beautiful and bright women. I’m glad that you’ve kept going and have held your own principles and staid optimistic throughout your surgical processes.
Hi Dr.! I’ve been slowly working through all your vlogs and I’m learning so much!! Just found out about your mom. I Will be praying for you and your family. I’m so thankful for you, your advice and your great vegan recipes!!
I keep watching for updates on your sweet Mom and her adorable little dog. Have I missed any posts? I don't think we have seen her since this video or heard how she is doing.
When i watched this made me cry. I remember what it like to have a parents go with the treatments my dad had lung cancer he got though it. I also know what it’s like be the daughter and not knowing what going to happen to your parent. I am praying for you and your mom. I sure it harder during this time. I love your videos they do help me especially now. what could use viewers do to help you?
It is times like these, times of struggle, sadness that can also ad richness to our lives! It allows each of us to self reflect, adjust our priorities and be more mindful of others. Dr. dray I know this was heavy on your hear to share, thank you for allowing us to be close enough to care for you and your mom, to pray for you both and give our support! You are right that we will get through “this” however it’s my prayer that when we resume our lives we will be “better” humans because of it! Love OUR Momma Dray...... from the bottom of my heart! 🙏
Gosh, thank you for sharing. I hope your mother has a speedy recovery. Im going through the same situation. My mother has cancer, has had three surgeries in the last two months. Currently in treatments. When it rains it pours it seems. You are handling this with such grace! 💗
Hello here from Houston. We are blessed to have the best of medical care here. My mom had a rare form of lung cancer twice. She had a lobectomy each time with radiation and chemo. She is alive and well 5 years out from cancer. I know it can be overwhelming but she is in great care! Bless you both.
Lady make sure you keep pushing your doctors. My mom was diagnosed with endometrial cancer and after radiation they told her she was fine. It is metastatic now.
My dad has Stage IV oral cancer. He's had three surgeries (9 hours each for two of them, and 4 hours for the other), chemo, and 30 radiation treatments on his face. Sometimes it feels daunting and difficult, even before this Coronavirus reality. I'm thinking about you and your mom. You're both strong. Be well. Hope you both spend a lot of time talking on the phone and video chatting while you're staying safe!
You know, it’s interesting when you said “you come here to escape”; I pondered that for a minute, and I don’t think that’s why I’ve been following you for years. I think now it’s because in an organic way, I feel like we’ve become friends. I know that’s odd. I first tuned it for acne scar recommendations and just stuck around. The fact that you upload everyday has a lot to do with it. You are a constant in my life, and Ms. Cathy is like visiting a gem a couple of times week. What a treat! I live with my four children and my parents in San Diego. My mother had just been diagnosed with early onset dementia when the sheltering place order was ordered. I am,for all intents and purposes an only child, and feel a huge sense of responsibility for my family. This diagnosis, like that of your mom’s could not have come at a worse time. I send you three lots of love and will add you to my prayers. I think that’s something we can all do. This is a time to keep the Lord close to us. We are all going though life magnified, currently, and recognizing the love Christ has for us is also magnified (beyond measure) is comforting and a reminder we are never alone in what we are going through and feeling. You have a beautiful family in every sense of the word. Yes. You will get through this! 💗
My grandmother and my aunt both have had this cancer and both overcame it and have done well. Sending tons of love to your mom. She reminds me so much of my Big G (grandmother) even her voice. Thank you so much for sharing.
I am so sorry to hear about your mom. She is in my thoughts and prayers 🙏🏻💕 I am currently in bed with a boot, recovering from a stage 1 melanoma surgery. It takes so much strength to go through a disease like this. I also have history with stage 3 non-Hodgkins lymphoma. Chemo and radiation is not easy. Stay strong, Mama Dray!! You got this.
God bless your mom! She is such a bright spirit and she will win that battle! I am praying for you and her. You guys are gonna be out there at Whole Foods in no time ❤ Stay safe, I love you both!
We LOVE you and your mom - we live in Texas, I grew up near where you two are and I think about y’all, too - many blessings 💜 Stay Strong Beautiful Women
I am approaching year 2 as a survivor of endometrial cancer!! I was extremely fortunate that mine was caught early and the complete total hysterectomy was the only treatment required. I will say that going through menopause twice wasn't on my bucket list! I wasn't really prepared for the mind game that a cancer diagnosis brings. That "what if" rabbit hole is long and deep. Please take one day at a time. Don't borrow trouble. Explore the resources available to you at your treatment center. As a nurse, I knew all this. As a cancer patient, I was rather lost. Sending both of you comfort and peace.
I'm seeing Dr. Dray the human. The Clinician has temporarily left the building. We are here for you, Dr. Dray , just as you have helped so many of us
So beautifully put, we are more alike than we are different. Thanks for your comment I really appreciate that you connect all of us 🌈

I hope her recovery went well. If possible, please give her my best wishes for a healthy and happy holiday season.
I'm thinking of Momma Dray so often, she's in my prayers. All my love♡♡
My mother in law was diagnosed with this and recovered beautifully! Sending you and your mom happy thoughts
I had endometrial cancer fifteen years ago and haven't been bothered by it since. You will get through this. We are all thinking of you too!
Your mom is such a sweetheart, I'm so sorry she has to go through this. Sending TONS of love to both of you during this time.... we can all get through this!
Thinking of your mom. I hope she’s doing ok.
A lot of us are thinking about your mom and wishing her well. ❤
Your mom is so lucky to have a supportive and loving daughter like you. Wishing her a speedy recovery 💕
🙏🙏🙏♥️
Hang in there Andrea, we all hear your emotions and will help you to carry them.
I've been thinking about Dr. Dray's mom too. I hope she is okay.
I just googled and stumbled upon this because I miss seeing her mom..
I just stumbled upon this video. Wishing for the best for Dr. Dray's mom.
I suddenly thought of your mom and went on a hunt with concern. I hope she is doing well!
Me also 🙏💚🙏
Amen!
I’m glad that she made it through and I hope that she is doing wel!!
This was such a hopeful post. Thanks for sharing successful recovery and survival.
I actually had it at 43 years old and I am 3 years cancer free. No recurrence and no uterus. ;) I hope she has a similar outcome!
Dr. Dray, I can completely understand this situation. My mom just got diagnosed with cancer last week. All the very best to your mom and to you. ❤
Robin praying for your son and all the healthcare workers for their health and safety and that they receive all the necessary PPE!
Hope your son is well 💛
hope he is well and so are you :)
Oh my Gosh, Dr Dray! Do NOT worry about how WE as an audience feels.. or how we will grapple with this. You take as much time as you, your mom and puppy needs. Period. 💜
We'll be here when you get back.
Dray! 🙏🏾
Such a lovely message ❤️❤️
I can’t express how much we love you both and we are keeping Mom in our hearts and prayers! Please let her know we are thinking of her and praying for her. Sending you both light and Love! ❤️🌻❤️🌻❤️🌻
I wish your mother a speedy recovery. Take care as well Dr. Dray.
"We will get through it, it will be over and we will move on". I need this on a t-shirt .
I’m so happy Tybee is with her to keep her company. She is such a lovely lady. May God comfort you and your mom during this difficult time.
Since they brought us all into their lives it would be courteous of Dr Dray to give us an update.
@@pamcarr3598 I don’t think she passed, I pray is not true.
If she shared this part with us an update would be fair, too
I’m watching this for the second time .

The sweetest mother daughter duo on UA-cam
This cut me deep. Sending lots of sincere love to you both across the pond from the UK. 🧡😭
Mamma Dray if your receiving care from MD Anderson they are the best they treated my mother. God Bless you and heal you. ❤️🙏
I keep watching for updates on your sweet Mom and her adorable little dog. Have I missed any posts? I don't think we have seen her since this video or heard how she is doing.
Please update us on your sweet mom 🌹🌈🌼🌻
Stay strong.
💝
My grandmother and my aunt both have had this cancer and both overcame it and have done well. Sending tons of love to your mom. She reminds me so much of my Big G (grandmother) even her voice. Thank you so much for sharing.
I've been thinking about you and your mom and wondering how she is doing. If you can, would you give us an update? I hope and pray all is going well.
Dziękujemy.
I am so sorry to hear about your mom. She is in my thoughts and prayers 🙏🏻💕
I am currently in bed with a boot, recovering from a stage 1 melanoma surgery. It takes so much strength to go through a disease like this. I also have history with stage 3 non-Hodgkins lymphoma. Chemo and radiation is not easy. Stay strong, Mama Dray!! You got this.
🙏💖
Much love to you and your mama. Houston has a great cancer center, and she has you as a daughter. So she is in good hands.
God bless your mom! She is such a bright spirit and she will win that battle! I am praying for you and her. You guys are gonna be out there at Whole Foods in no time ❤ Stay safe, I love you both!
I love the videos where you “hang” with your mother. That’s why I’m looking for her. Take care.
I don’t know how I missed this video. Breaks my heart. I can’t stop crying. Thanks for sharing🙏🏼
Same here
Your calmness and positivity brings me to tears with so much hope! Thank you 🙏🏻
I'm sure that was difficult to share but glad you did. Sending you both prayers and wishing your mom very well soon.
My mom had a stroke, she was my best friend. Best thing I did was get a GOOD councilor to help me through the tough time🙏😘hugs
