Third Rail
Lyrics: Brown
Music: Colyer / Brannon / Brown / Spillane / Warne / Bainbridge
Guitar Duet: Dave Bainbridge and Alek Darson
It ain't easy, the third rail
Conversation land mine, fail
Rising tide, rising voice
Purulent pressure of regret and choice
Your voice, your voice
Turning out the light
Turning off the hope
Turning in my heart
Turning down the volume of this affair
To sidestep the third rail
Walk in silence
My thoughts scream
Quieting the suffering I can’t redeem
Like a windstorm
World of sand
Swirling like mistakes I try understand

GREAT SONG & SOUNDS GREAT VOICE TOO.CONGRATS CIRCULINE 👋🎸😎☀️🌈🎹🔥👌
Song of the year as far as I am concerned. Wow.
Sounds marvelous can't wait to hear the entire CD.
Hey, Natalie here! Thank you so much! We are pretty excited about this album, as it took 6 years to make! 😆It's also the first time we didn't farm out the lyrics, so it's a bit more personal feeling, I guess. Again, thank you so much for the kind words.🥰
You already know that I Love You Folks and your music, and I have to add that I freakin' Love Shelby's bass playing and tones! Great find and addition to the band.
I know, right??? And Bainbridge is a wonder! As ever, huge buckets of love to you, Michael! Natalie🥰
First time I've heard the word 'purulent' in a song!
Ha! Yeah, I thought it had a better ring than, "Pusslike pressure of regret and choice!" 😆Contextually, it refers to those regrets that surface in memory and make us cringe and feel icky, like a flesh eating disease. Great to learn from, but hard to live with. Thanks for noticing!
A wonderful video ... for a wonderful song. Great visuals to go with the lyrics.....and love that Lead Guitar break (I am mostly a Guitar Player....😎) but everything was very well done. Bravo!
YOU ARE A VERY WONDERFUL HUMAN💖
@@nataliebrown7202 HUGZ Girl!
Also: What you're hearing in that guitar break are actually two separate solos. One, by a former member, Alek Darson, a fabulous player, who laid down the track before he left the band; the other, by the great Dave Bainbridge who we are SO lucky to have on board for this album cycle! When Andrew was listening to the tracks, Alek's track was still underneath the new one Dave had sent. In addition to sounding incredibly cool, I thought the juxtaposition of the two helped elevate the song's intent, i.e., the clashing of wills during conflict. You know, that one subject couples need to avoid, like they would a "third rail."
@@nataliebrown7202 Ah.... I knew there were two guitar parts being played, but not by two different players. Thanks!
