What are you talking about?! ALGS players are "the backbone of the community," remember? OF COURSE the game revolves around him! It'd be foolish to think that the game actually revolves around the millions of players that support it, and, more importantly in this discussion, him and his streams. Everyone knows that ALGS would be more successful without spectators and that Hal's streams would be even more popular if nobody watched them.
Hal never had to open his mouth and answer his chat. He did and made it worse, "we could have screwed him even more if we wanted to" He only has himself to blame
Who says shit like that 😂😂. Like tf he was your teammate. Smoofie good god have mercy for your opponents😂😂. Can’t wait to watch him get thirsted on live
"We could have screwed him even more if we wanted to." This implies that the amount of screwing over involved was done on purpose. And yes, you could have screwed him even more. There are some things to take away from that statement: (1.) Hal acknowledges that he screwed Genburten over. He knows this to be true, or would not have worded it "screwed him EVEN MORE." (2.) "...if we wanted to" implies that it was considered during the discussion, meaning they likely discussed the prospect of screwing Genburten out of his opportunity to play entirely.
You've got a real problem if, while defending yourself, you say "now hang on, I could've been WAY more of an asshole than I was but I have mercy" is unreal to me. What a douchebag 😂
To be honest,Hal is an excellent gamer and a good strategist and that's it.He has a bad attitude filled with arrogance and he is too narcissistic that he never forget to look down on his own teammates and put all the blame on them.Even now he is blaming the community for hating him.I really don't hate him .I just never had a reason to like him.
Me neither. He only gained some of my respect for continuing playing with cheats cos it helped expose the cheater situation all of us were going thru. But even then he didn't keep playing for us so it's a bit of a moot point.
With Reps and Evan there was an emotional balance within TSM - now that Hal teamed up with Zero, for the Life of me, i couldnt answer who is the worse person to get along with .
HAL deserves all the hate - I mean who needs friends when you only look after #1 and care about yourself?!? Right?!?? - no wonder his ex girlfriend left him 🤣🤣🤣🤣 😈
And he will probably still be friends with her like a total sucker 🤦🏻♂️ Never be friends with an ex or have contact unless you have kids with such ex's
What the hell, you need to tell him that you are thinking about dropping him when you start planning to drop him not when you are sure that he is replaced. That’s the whole point.
@@invasivepenguin8560 because Hal knew the entire time and gen had to find out from someone who wasn’t even on the team 5 days before the goddamn tourney
There are two points missed out in the video that are influencing peoples opinion on Hal emotionally. 1. Hal is toxic and insulting - that has always been issue with a lot of people. 2. Hal became too much business like (along with Zero) - they got their oilmoney and dropped their third mate a few days before rosterlock. All the thoughts about the - why and when - displayed the professionalism and lacking emotionality they "handled the Gen business" with. Means, Apex is still a game, its a hobby for most that we watch and play. Very few people make money with it and thats Ok. I get thats some kind of business for them in their early 20s for 4 or 5 years. Thats not something new. But this "business" getting dirty and rubbed into peoples faces THAT directly including Oilmoney and dirty dropping followed by professional managerial excuses - well, I would guess it took a lot people by suprise how f*ck*d up also this business can be. Hal and Zero with Falcons are simply mirroring this new reality that heavily separates the childhood hero on your favorite game from old mans, cold business.
Originally an NRG fan however converted to TSM when I saw the passion displayed by Hal and the lack thereof by Sweet. Gen being the type of person he is, did not deserve to be treated that way especially knowing that he initially asked if there were going to be changes to which he was told “no”. To make matters worse, not only was he dropped and replaced, he had to find out from someone outside of his team/org. How do you treat teammates that way? Basically ‘pissed on him and told him it’s rain’. Personally I think it was done that way to ensure he does not have a team before roster lock so as to lesson the competition themselves. Both Hal and Zero need to publicly apologize to Gen imo
I definitely lost all respect for him. Firstly for ditching TSM for human rights violating oil money and now for him doing more scum bag shit like this.
Hal obviously lied to him when he asked. I have no sympathy for the hate he's getting. Could've giving the guy more time to find a new team or at least another chance to prove himself. I honestly just cringe at anything centered in Apex at this point. Put a fork in it.
This is a common theme with Hal, his departure from TSM was handled poorly as well. Beyond apex the dude just isn’t worth the ground he stands on. That said the drama is good for the esport. People will tune in to see Hal v Gen & Evan
2:37 ex-SSG was not a superteam. Phony had never won a major lan event, nor had Koyful, and Xynew had only ONE major lan event win under his belt. Your logic makes no sense. Going based off your logic that would make the new TSM roster a superteam and would be closer to a superteam more than ex-SSG are. A superteam is a team that only has players with MULTIPLE LAN WINS/ACHIEVEMENTS under their belt.
The 2011 heat were a super team. Idk maybe it’s defined differently in esports but regular sports a “super team” is just a team with some of if not these best players
Actually "superteam" is a made-up term that doesn't have a dictionary definition, therefore, the definition of "superteam" is subjective, making both of you technically correct. Multiple LAN wins doesn't mean anything, given that even amateur players can win LAN tourneys (I've seen both Faide and LuluLuvely take home victories at LAN events). Multiple ALGS titles would likely be a better metric, but likely doesn't fit the narrative you're trying to present here.
imagine being the ppl choice and most decorated apex legend LAN player, just to get a few hate comments and now not even qualify for a b-tier apex tourney, ImperialHal its laughable to do that
Timmy is so genuine for letting GENT know but you got HAL not telling him bc he didn’t want to hurt his feelings why didn’t they have an associate let gent know so he had time to find a new team and it’s the falcons team management and Hal and zero not being good counterparts and not being transparent with their teammate SMH
The responsibility to tell a player they are being dropped is on the team, not the incoming player. Kawhi Leonard should not have to tell Demar Derozan he is taking his spot, that is up to the Raptors. Pretty simple but I guess this is uncharted territory for esports and esports viewers
Was never my favourite and always thought he was a snake. Zeus called it right with Hal, especially after the Gen scenario. He deserves what is coming to him.
this video is making it looks like just this situation with Gen and Zero made everyone hates him, but it's false Hal have a huge haters community since way before
Be real here, tsm was failing because of hal's toxicity. Had 2 of the most consistent teammates in the game, and they essentially both say they redsicovered passion for the game when hal left😂😂😂 He literally NEVER takes accountability just like 90% of streamers who grew up on stream. Egos ruin everything. Genburten situation just made everyone who saw tsm split as a 1 off, realize hal is whack as a teammate regardless of his skills in game.
I like how people just exposed them hating on Hal for no reason what so ever. I've watched him since the beginning and if you think Hal deliberately Fuked up Gen you obviously don't know about their friendship. It's like people were waiting for an opportunity to hate on him and then a spineless UA-cam (Zues) made a video focusing on him because Falcons dropped Gen? Let's rewind that, a player who joined new...gets the blame for Falcons dropping Gen. People who say "Oh Hal could have told Gen", Hals role in Falcons is not to manage the team. Are you all telling he should do that? If he did then everyone would say "Hal is trying to steal IGL from Zer0, he is a bum." Another thing, Hal did not want gen to leave. He can't say it out loud because his opinion did not matter since the issue was between Zer0 and Gen. Your siblings are fighting, your parents instead of separating them decided to ground you instead. How effective would that be in stopping the fight between your siblings? Thats exaclty what was happening. Hal repeatedly said his opinion did not matter since the issue was between them and regardless of Hal's decision the issue would still remain unless Gen and Zer0 solves it, which Zer0 obviously did not. Cut that man some slacks, if this was TSM and Hal was in charge of the team 100% He deserves all the flame coming his way. But this guy did not want to be part of any Drama, yet people are blaming him.
I feel like it’s simple. Zero and Hal weren’t going to tell Gen anything until they knew they could lock in Waltzy. They found out on Gens b day. Decided not to ruin his bday with bad news. Timmy tells Gen about being dropped before Hal or Zero could. Did I get that right?
Hal is the gaming version of Sheldon cooper from big bang, super smart guy, but is an insufferable, unbearable D-bag and his only redeeming quality is that he’s talented at his profession.
Slavery and genocide happen all the time without us knowing about it too, doesn't make either of them OR Hal's behavior acceptable. This is an issue that needs to be addressed industry-wide if it's happening in every e-sport. It's bad business, and ruins the credibility of your org and players.
@LilSpookyyy Somehow, everyone thinks I was trying to draw some manner of equivalency between the things. The point is that things happen all the time that we don't know about, but have serious negative repercussions regardless. Just because something like this has become commonplace doesn't mean that we should cease paying attention to it. Quite the opposite, in fact; if this professional practice has become so common, it should garner more attention, not less.
I always hated Hal. He was beyond Toxic and even tho he was good at the game, he was never fun to watch. He was way too rude to him teammates a d never took accountability for his own mistakes. Genuinely started pissing me off seeing him.

I think the game, the community, Hal and everyone else are just fine. Sometimes things don't go down smoothly but i dont want to be the one to add to some online hate or judge people. There's always a place for critique between those involved, but if we as a community send hate towards someone we're no better ourselves.
Why would switching teams be the main reason for his hate? Thats like people being mad at a formula1 driver for example to switch teams, it happens and is normal and shouldn’t be something to be upset about, and why is hal responsible for telling gen about being dropped, be mad at people who own the team for not telling him.
Ain't gonna lie. Apex brings the worst out of people like not defending Hal, but most yall are so hypocritical. Big E abandoned his team for TSM, Hal abandoned his team for Falcons, Lui. I'm pretty sure he did the same thing. Apex is the one game where it's hard to have a favorite anything because there are constant roster changes. And it's annoying how EA constantly changes a meta just to benefit less skilled teams. I swear watching scrims now of days for every team has never put me to sleep so fast I wake up, and 3 hrs has passed, and the team that I'm watching is still spectating. I'm tired of roster changes and random BS plays every fucking scrim is like watching someone gamble knowing damn well they gonna fucking lose anyways

I am a hal fan and still hated the moment he joined with Zero, they ruined that rivalry and Made a superteam which in pretty much all sports it fails 99% of the time. Last LAN was weird, they had probably the best 3v3 team in the World yet they tried to play along the meta and went horrible.

They don’t go in tandem but yet and still those two different, (follow along with me here) “Hobbies, Sports and most importantly JOBS” come with the…Job. He is a businessman, he would not be hopping in the nba period if he wasn’t getting paid what HE felt he deserved.
I don’t care what anyone says, if you find yourself in KD’s position or Lebron (especially these two) not to mention they’ve been in the league way longer than a lot of these new ballers, and have had at that same extension more time in the league to harden their craft and skill. To still drop 30+ points regularly every game, not to mention still preforming better than a majority of your roaster (a roaster that someone like bron and KD have a say so in because the league knows damn well, they are star players. And they know that cause of how consistently good, you have to be as a player to have stats like those two do year in and year out regardless of what team they’re on, what year it is, and what team they’re against.
Atp, if I know that I’m Lebron or KD I’m trading dudes that can’t do nothing for me. Why tf would I not request a trade for myself if my team just showed me no matter what I do it’s always gonna be on my back. Or trade teammates out that aren’t giving any value. You’ll get traded off to a different team and still got a good contract, and still be a millionaire.
Regardless I say all of this to say that what he did was business. They may have been cool looking on the court but I promise a majority of these dudes once the game done and the after party over these dudes is not going over to each others houses, playing on the video game for endless hours.(maybe they are I just personally highly doubt that).
What Hal did, was just an ahole move. He could’ve just told him straight up because like gen said he told him “no there are no new changes to the team when he asked him” that is clear cut and dry snake. And im happy this did happen cause gen deserve better, Falcons going forward especially with the new additions of this designer dude. They’ll more than likely regret screwing over gen in the end when they don’t even get a top 10 placement :)

I really hope Gen does great will Timmy and Dezign. Moist is my favorite team and I'm sad about losing Waltzy (which like what? Why would he go to falcons when the reason he left is because he didn't want to Co-IGL) but I can only hope for the best

He only has himself to blame

@@dg1431verhulst new ceo your hilarious 🤣🤣
Hal is a crybaby. Imagine making as much money he does doing what many people dream of doing and complaining every time.
He's a narcissist with no loyalty. Very unlikable person.
I don’t usually hate but never liked him
I definitely lost all respect for him. Firstly for ditching TSM for human rights violating oil money and now for him doing more scum bag shit like this.
He's a crybaby Pros like the rest of them
Hal obviously lied to him when he asked. I have no sympathy for the hate he's getting. Could've giving the guy more time to find a new team or at least another chance to prove himself. I honestly just cringe at anything centered in Apex at this point. Put a fork in it.
The team should change the name to Snakes.
Fitting
It's not the teams fault that Hal is a bad person😭🙏

Let's just tell it as it is they tried to make him miss his spot a dog act from Hal, I hope Gen's new team melt them
This is a common theme with Hal, his departure from TSM was handled poorly as well. Beyond apex the dude just isn’t worth the ground he stands on.
That said the drama is good for the esport. People will tune in to see Hal v Gen & Evan
I don't like Hal because he is constantly crying about everything. Bro is literally the Ninja of Apex when it comes to crying.

JMeyels has no original thoughts. He just regurgitates what pros say. There were pros who were calling SSG a superteam for whatever reason.
A super team is a team of the best players in the world. Past performance doesn’t mean you’re the best currently
Multiple ALGS titles would likely be a better metric, but likely doesn't fit the narrative you're trying to present here.
imagine being the ppl choice and most decorated apex legend LAN player, just to get a few hate comments and now not even qualify for a b-tier apex tourney, ImperialHal its laughable to do that
He scammed his fans pretty early on in the game. I’ve been saying it for years. He shouldn’t have even been in the pro scene to begin with after that
I've only ever really seen Hal be condescending and rude to his teammates. He's obviously an amazing player, but obviously NOT an amazing person.
“Hals a rat!”-zeus
The responsibility to tell a player they are being dropped is on the team, not the incoming player. Kawhi Leonard should not have to tell Demar Derozan he is taking his spot, that is up to the Raptors. Pretty simple but I guess this is uncharted territory for esports and esports viewers
TBH only his team ATM liked him...Sheldon has no room for EGO right? That's a rhetorical question! 🤣
When the real OG spoke up and posted his vid.. it all went 0-100 real quick. Thanks zeus the real President of apex legends
Was never my favourite and always thought he was a snake. Zeus called it right with Hal, especially after the Gen scenario. He deserves what is coming to him.
A dude that isn’t humble and casually calls his team mates IDIOTS 🧐
this video is making it looks like just this situation with Gen and Zero made everyone hates him, but it's false
Hal have a huge haters community since way before
Be real here, tsm was failing because of hal's toxicity.
Hes a bum. Thats why.
@captainaizen4866 I personally never liked him. I recognize him as a player but that's it.
Does it matter if he wins tournaments he still will get paid and people will watch him to watch him lose that’s how fame works
Ivw never liked the guy, respawn seemingly bends to his will Everytime he opens his whiney mouth
Most operative word: whiney.
Hal is the gaming version of Sheldon cooper from big bang, super smart guy, but is an insufferable, unbearable D-bag and his only redeeming quality is that he’s talented at his profession.
lol this literally happens in every e sport dropped without getting talked to
Slavery and genocide happen all the time without us knowing about it too, doesn't make either of them OR Hal's behavior acceptable. This is an issue that needs to be addressed industry-wide if it's happening in every e-sport. It's bad business, and ruins the credibility of your org and players.

There's always a place for critique between those involved, but if we as a community send hate towards someone we're no better ourselves.
He complains all the time and seems to be closed-minded
Why would switching teams be the main reason for his hate? Thats like people being mad at a formula1 driver for example to switch teams, it happens and is normal and shouldn’t be something to be upset about, and why is hal responsible for telling gen about being dropped, be mad at people who own the team for not telling him.

They should not have treated Gen like that. Disrespectful
This community is so toxic, braindead, and annoying. You all treat these pros like holy gods and then get mad when they make a mistake like they aren't human. Yall cult like mindsets is getting out of hand
Zero should have been dropped instead of Gen but Hal isn't the cpt nor the igl so that's not on him
Ok
"i didn't want to tell him on his birthday" such a dumb thing to say when it's something as important as HEY WE'RE DROPPING YOU
I am a hal fan and still hated the moment he joined with Zero, they ruined that rivalry and Made a superteam which in pretty much all sports it fails 99% of the time. Last LAN was weird, they had probably the best 3v3 team in the World yet they tried to play along the meta and went horrible.
