Back to this adorable set in 2024. Timeless masterpiece :)
Tremendo Papá Sven 🎉🎉
Sept 2023 and this is still one of the best (if not the best) boiler room. The patience and progression is perfect. Top Dj, always has been.
I listen this mix on my bedroom, my bathroom, my car, with my friends and when i workout.
Thank you for this Sven
Sooooo cool to hear him with vinyls ! I remenber when we were making party in amnesia ibiza club... 1998... We were so crazyyyyy and young ! I love this musicien ! One of the best DJ in the world who marks the electronic music history ! Love u Sven Väth !
All i see here in these comments is people complaining about nothing, i see people grooving and dancing, i hear excellent music from Sven Vath, and pretty much all those who complain about Sven not being the same from the 90's.... no shit sherlock, its 2015, good musicians change and evolve with time
Don't cry because he's not playing exactly what you expect him to. Personally i find this set much more concise and deep than what i've heard past years. And much more adequate to the type of event and venue, would have hated hearing him playing 130bpm crude 90's techno, just wouldnt' fit the situation
Amen, Evolution, we follow?

I love u so much
His music has slowed and changed because the scene has changed and he's gotten older as a person and as a DJ and producer. It's called evolving. I love this sound, it's deep, the bpm is slower, and it's a reflection of where he is musically in life. Does everyone still want to hear him pound out 135 bpm straight techno from his late 90's days?
The problem is,fast music has also changed. ''135 bpm straight techno from his late 90's days'' as you mentioned; doesnt exist anymore. I was at Carl Craig boiler room party at Berlin the last week, even he has slowed down a bit.And with these dub rhytims taking over the techno beats; the fast music isnt the old stuff anymore. So I believe sven is following the trend rather well; not conservative but carries on the tradition.
bomseven I think it comes down to environment dj is in if he sensed that crowed wanted faster bpm he would go for it and make it wild.
bomseven Or his 140-150 trance of the early 90s :D. I like him in all his 'eras' so to say.
Bugra Erkan 135 bpm techno totally exists, just depends how you pitch it up ;) And remember that in the heyday of those FAST techno records many were pitched up at plus 8 anyway way beyond 135. The pace of the dancefloor has changed for sure, but mainly because people don't want to dance as much ...I phones, feeble hands in the air is about it. The crowd is dictating what Sven can and cant play here, and that is why this set has no edge, no tension building, no journey and to me is lacking in soul., Sven is giving them what they want, and not want he wants them to hear. This type of music has always existed in the dance music spectrum, it is nothing new, it's just playing safe.
Deep Chunk i agree totaly with ue opinion, and not only for Sven but for others also such richie ,maya jane coles...
Ah, Sven Väth, as we getting older he's getting older and the music is getting ... softer but very very nicer :) Who would've thought how much he changed since 2000, check out the Sven Vath - Live @ Love Parade 2000 Berlin video on youtube :) Thanks for uploading this DJ set and making available for us to listen and watch.
"Das kommt von Herzen
Komm auf die Leiter
Wir sind doch anders
Wir machen weiter"
He always had an understanding for the crowd... you can find sets where sven back then also played more sophisticated and soft styled... or a mix of genres....he simply has a broad music taste and a broad understand of people and the moment. After my opinion;)
Bestes Boiler Room Set Ever !!!🔥
Wird langsam mal Zeit für ein neues Set mit Sven Väth...!!!!!
Indeed 🎉🎉
papá sven sos un Dios desde el 2012 escuchando esta obra maestra y ahora en cuarentena si que me salvas .... VOLUMEN !!!
Two decks, a mixer, a box full of vinyl and a DJ who really knows about track selection and how to build a set. Sven Vath doesn't need a laptop running traktor or ableton plus a bunch of effects. This set is far better than what most DJs deliver using a whole array of digital technology. Every track Sven plays is top notch, and he lets each track stand on its own and breath a bit before he mixes anything. And his mixing is real smooth here, nothing fancy, no big ego trick moves, but it works. Very deep, very soulful.
you are a poet
I've seen him twice this year, once on NYD in London and Monday just gone at Cocoon, Amnesia, Ibiza. I literally couldn't reach any higher for the sky. BLOWN AWAY.
Except for the part where you make it sound as if performing with traktor or ableton isn't the "real deal" (just check David August or Nico Jaar BR) , I completely agree with this. Before this I heard Nina and Ben Clock BR's and even though they mixed a lot of tracks, I got totally bored since every track seemed to be only noise
Fuckin Irie mate. Troot be told!
That's what I love from him. I can listen to the damn track for a few minutes and enjoy it. And I will enjoy it because nobody picks tracks like Sven.

ty!
'Vertigo' by Eats Everything.
he is such a good DJ, impressive mixing, love track selection as well. SVEN YOURE THE MAN!
This has to be my favourite Boiler Room set. Sven is a true master, his tune selection is perfect and his mixing effortlessly simple. He doesn’t over use effects because he doesn’t need to. All you need for a great set is already there
I love this Set from Sven. fucking awesome. I first it took me a while to get used to his Music but I love it now. Seen him In Ibiza along with Richie Hawtin and Eddie Haliwell One of the best time of my life. Wish I could freeze that moment in time and party forever.
Молодец мужик.
Позитивный был в 90е, позитивным и остался а наши дни.
Had the pleasure of seeing Sven live at a legendary now defunct Irish club called Mono in around 2001/2002. Still remember it over 20 years later. Not sure it was as good as this set though. Pure class.
What a nice man. A master at work, but who gives so much to the people around him. Just great.
💚
И все таки
Sven Väth гениален с чертовски крутым музыкальным вкусом.
Vinyl, das waren noch Zeiten !
mouth watering....every big track ORIGINAL on vinyl :) there are a few people's (dj's) that the have..
Sven Väth a big Hero!
THE ONE AND ONLY
MR. SVEN VÄTH
AMAZING SET.....
Lepszego seta od Svena nie słyszałem,prawdziwe arcydzieło, majstersztyk, dobór kawałków w różnych tonacjach, genialne
As a musician (percussionist) i love this man's timing on his mixing, one of the wisest musicians i have ever met told me one time, "less is more," the proper things at the proper times are always more appropriate.
this crowd look like they dont normally listen to this....
I love these comment sections man. So many people just expressing their appreciation and love for the craft and the music and the People. Humans are the best.
When I was like 10 or so my mom had this one cassette where she had recorded a DJ set from the radio that was early 90s and she had no idea what that music was or who the guy was. She loved that tape and so did I, that was him already. Techno is Not my main music, but every couple of years I get a kick and look what mixes he has put out and they almost always are just so fucking good. So cool, that he’s still kicking it. Still inspiring people.
blonde girl with white circles on your shirt...i love you
drogo grevena ikr
You mean "Polka Dots" 😉Nice moves
i love her friend (the girl with the gold neckles)
If I could dance as well and as carefree as her, I’d be a much happier person.
she is indeed on a whole other level compared to the others.
Diese Boiler room Berlin groove Magazin ist bek mir dat meistgehörte Set! 😎 💃
16:06 polka dots really going in though
Still rock's in year 22 🤘
haha the start of the staff behind is so humble.. putting that monitor much too close, announcer starting to dance when no one else does.. all that quite entertaining
Old man's style
You old
That mix in to Shed - Day After couldn't have been any more seamless.
Trippy, Dance and smooth! what a combo.👌🏽
1:30:22 - boiler room dude starts shouting in his ear while he's trying to mix...FFS!! ;-) Shortly after he's got a flannel on his head haha
I saw him play in the club orbit in Morley in the mid 90s,wow
The Orbit?
@@MikeyCompton your right, only just realised I put that, thanks for the correction
Sven is Sven thats how it is
Starstruck Bro be simping to this day
1:33:00, a magical moment
I would really like to try mixing with vinyl. Its kind of like the white buffalo. If I ever get the chance I will definitely try & give'r
2021 big sven vath!!!!👌
The track selection is amazing all fits and is fresh the frequencies I think I might have a curator that helps him
Is that Frank Wiedemann at the start of the vid?
That bloke in the A T-shirt is the one that gets knocked out in the kebab shop at the end of the night, his birds gonna crying aswell. Absolute pisstaker.
f.....k its already more than 25 years togheterr bro .thanks
PAPA SVEN
This set is soooo good. Would love to slip him a $100 to mix in his remix of Johnny Starlight Blood Angels. On a side note...and im sure this has been asked before, i wonder how many "deals" are caught on camera from the folks in the back within all these dj video sets?
Einfach nur Kunst!!😍🥳🕺
The King of history 👑💣
Amazing...
simply the best!!
So relaxed and funny! Gooddude. Greetings to all
The host looks like Sven Vath his brother :P

Thanks Erick
We appreciate it!
❤️👍
Голям си ей. Благодаря.
10x bro!
I adore the fact, that Sven allows himself to commit some micromistakes while mixing, letting the mix to sound even more organic and far more human than those Sync-"Dj's" of nowadays. Crowd reading, interacting and even leaving a gentle response to those curious party guests urging to talk to him while mixing. Def a Pro.
Gude Laune!
Die Kidis von heute haben keinen blasen Schimmer was Sveni in der Vergangenheit abgerissen hat. Und Abfahrt......👌
the way techno should be - decks en vinyl with unknown tracks to most..... lets hope we can do this soon again in 2021
Why should it be about what kind of decks someone is using.. techno should sound good and thats all that should matters
Mark, Totally agree with you... Vinyl is the best !
For the love of the scene not the love of being seen... ;-)
absolutly even when its mainly house
ughh I gotta stop listening to this shit when I'm studying. It just makes me wanna get up and dance, ya dig?
+fat cat Duude me too
+fat cat yup, so much this!
I have found if you listen to these enough times they work well with studying/writing papers. Really gotta get used to it
story of me life. But i cant stop listening.
+pattbateman Definitely! I can not read a paper or write on my research without good techno sets.. It helps me to focus on my work and to forget everything around me. Because of this I love my work. I can combine it with music.
Wanted to hear music for working on excel stuff. Ended again here - with sven - after 10 years.
Dancing. Watching. Not working.
Over 20 years of a raving career under my belt, and I've been pronouncing his name all wrong like a dumbass. Oh, the irony.
how did you call it ? :)
***** Probably like me and a ton of others have been: like 'bar'
*****
Vath like "bath"
Paul Walnuts That could be slightly confusing as some people (like those in the north of England for example) pronounce 'bath' like the MC in this video pronounces 'Vath' (as opposed to 'barth').
-sorry for hijacking his question but a few people have picked up on his pronounciation :P
hehe well thats funny :)
10 years and this is still my favourite boiler room!
🎉🎉🎉
Same... Here for it now
Frfrong
2020 and this set is still one of the best ones on Boiler Room...♥

Every track played by Sven is commercially available to buy or download.
I have bought 3 albums and downloaded many a track here, due to the influence and quality of this set and i suggest you do the right thing and do the same!
Peace...
Does't sound the same on spotify looool
Ah, so that's how you pronounce Väth!
I still pronounce it as "bath" hahahaha
Sven, Wait
As a 42y old electronic music enthusiast, i heared countless dj sets from the bests and i have to say that this man knows his stuff. Hats off mister Väth.
Same bruddah
god damn master class
he's one of the best
The Wizard
Darth Vather
By far the best boiler room set. The crowd and atmosphere is outstanding. And Väth must be the most charismatic dj ever.
9 years after initial upload. I'm still here. This mix keeps giving goosebumps just like the first day. Maybe even more. After all these years I've been through, all the memories... The songs are so fitting. I'm on therapy because apparently I don't manage emotions very well xD but such music... I feel it deep inside
Try liberty caps my friend , Really aids my ptsd
Yes banging
apparently i m 10 years in and still 100% into this mix
very nicely put. not everyone get this visceral response from this music only certain types of people. i feel bad for those that don't get the same feelings as i do because it's my everything ... my higher power.
What a legend... Every once and then, i come to this set. Just to see how amazing it is. It' hard to believe that too many dj's saying they have no time for mixing, so they use all recent technology to help them (cd's, pen's, preset's, etc, etc...). I'm not against it. Really. THe technology is there, so... But please put an eye on this guy. He doesn't need to be 100% of the time moving knobs like he's doing something special, just to be cconsidered a good dj. Part of the job is the choice of the set and the perception of the audience mood. This guy nails it. He has time for dj'ing like in the old times (as far as i can see) and interact with all the other people in there. Awesome. Meanwhile... 514 haters though... wtf is in there not to like?
+fitty77 totally agree with you. this is one of the most complete sets ive listened. track selection, flow and a genuine having fun atmosphere. papa sven knows how to make a crowd move no matter the setting
At the end if the day if you see him live. He will entertain you like no other dj...and that's what it is about. Having a good time!
+fitty77 And he still has time to change the needle of the turntable amidst the set (22:52) :)
+fitty77 respect and beautifull said, I TOTALLY AGREE!!!! , greetings from DJ Arvie/Aviebeats Records
+fitty77 I can agree with you regarding the energy in the room, the fantastic track selection, taking the time to have fun and interact with the audience. A really nice attitude right there. But as a modern DJ hearing this mixing....I don't know, it feels. Lazy? I'm very unimpressed by the way he mixes the tracks. And maybe this is just what we can be happy about with the technology and craft moving forward - the qualities and perks of a DJ always changes, with time and individuals. Great set.
Im sorry there's just something about 2 tables and a mixer that will never be recreated with any software....
True... I'd love to put all the legendary DJS togheter on a gig with all these new famous DJs, but surprise, only 2 turntables and a mixer... We would really see who are the skilled ones xD
ok ok..
RogerEffeDj >>> exactly thats fucking real "OLD SCOOL"..!!! like tis
Skill?
i mostly listen to heavy metal, sometimes some dubstep, or some other electronic or club music, and i must say, i'm really enjoying this
I'm a techno and Metal guy myself, so I see what you are trying to say .... I mostly wear a metal shirt during Techno sets also ....
Kenneth Demeester reminds me of bassnectar
Been listenin to rock and metal since i was 6, but i also love other ganres...techno,trance,exc..
Limiting yourself is a stupid thing to do and actually the people that do just that are true posers. :)
zexedearth89 yeah, there's good music in any genre :)
This man never disappoints. Had the honors of seeing him at cocoon Ibiza twice. Hours of never to be heard again bangers. Man has tracks hidden in every crack.
1:00:44 HAHA- HAHAHAHAHAHA
shweetbeat LOL! His reaction is priceless!
And 1.00.35 😉😂😂

a Smoothyway to turn his vinyls,
a Smoothyway to choose THE song
a Marvelousway to being present with public
a Marvelous lesson to all dj's..
Simply Sven Vath.
Try space
Whoa, amazing set. I dare anyone saying that mixing is just pressing buttons to listen to this Sven Väth set. Pure sex in my ears.
Geil wie Sven einfach immer noch dabei ist 🙃😝
It’s amazing how many times I come back to this mix by Papa Sven. I look forward to all of us being able to dance the night away!
28.12.2023, and i am listening. The older it gets, the better. Great mix. Love from Romania.
This is why I'm voting to stay in the EU.
Yeh because you'll get banned from visiting Germany if we leave and never be able to watch a dj again, they should have included THAT in the tax payer funded booklet
Be honest, if there was no EU a live broadcast in Berlin set up by a british company would've been harder.
+Mighty Ming why shut up? A dialogue between two opposing stances is great. The EU is a framework for international cooperation. Taxes in eurozone countries is so much easier than before, international travel is less of a hassle, etc. Are you saying the EU had no part in making those things easier, not even indirectly?
get a room guys hahaha
Who cares ? EU is just a name , who cares about the borders .
Sven is killin it
Lost count, the amount, of times I've listened to this mix.
Always has a positive effect, regardless of where my head was before,
Sven provides the fix. I'm a Disco and House junkie( in the best way poss) listening to Mr Vath grabs his audience, that's for sure.
The beat selection is definitely funky, and it goes without saying, he's the boss. Always shows up and knows where it's at. Continues to stay true and play vinyl, all the way thorugh, Sven's word is final.
A true legend.
Steve Aoki disliked this 1,200 times
LOL
different clientelle
Sven Väth behind the Decks is like Walter Röhrl in a Race car, just amazin Work!
A total blackbelt of a set !!
One thing I loved about Berlin was the techno shows are not sausage fests like it is in Chicago. The girls there love real techno and not EDM cheese
There are definitely techno-loving girls in Chicago. Smart-Bar is a great place that has talented DJ's spinning quality music (none of that vocal prog-house crap) and a great mixed crowd.
fx101 Techno loving girls in Chicago, you say?
Agreed, any techno night is 95% dudes, spybar or anywhere else.
Well Chicago isn't really known for techno.
yeah we all know there are a good amount of techno shows at spybar and smartbar, but its almost always 80% sweaty dudes. Its only half girls at smartbar when its house
the man is a real master, im happy to live in one of the most underground scenes for electronic music FRANKFURT
Back in the 90's I heard a interview of Swen Vath and he said he had done raves where he would dj 24-36 hours...🏁💫
The old heads definitely did that yeah
I watched this mix tripping on acid. all the funky colors and motions of the crowd made it amazing, i couldn't make sense of if it was real or not. my brain couldn't tell if Sven was playing and the crowd where a pre recorded back drop, or if it where in fact live. it felt as if there where visual layers of the scene. The fact that the music is recorded strait from the channel and there is no ambient volume made it trippy as hell too and made it hard to tell if was live or not. lets just say my brain went to trip town on this one. recommended!
like your work Dr Jones!
@@glenbrowne9005 😁
Its definitely live, and you can hear the crowd at some points. Glad your trip lined up with this video
@@milolive6870 The needles on the decks whilst picking up the vinyl grooves actually pick up the crowd noise in the back too, it's something I've always loved about recorded sets where people mix off wax.
all the master needs is two turntables, a mixer and a fraction of his sublime vinyl collection.
I've watched so many Boiler Room sets, but this one is by far my favourite. It's the whole package - the track selection, the programming, the mixing, the reading of the crowd and the participation between Sven and the crowd, this is a masterclass. It's even better than Jeff Mills "The Exhibitionist", and that is saying something. Bravo Sven Vath - THIS is what a DJ does.
Its an awesome mix, but it isn't as good as the exhibitionist. No way near dude. The praise for vinyl mixing in here is admirable, but this was how it was , and the exhibitionist was next level when it came out . Live at the liquid rooms us still technically better as well. Much love to sv en though , this is a beast of a mix
@@andyhowells7271 Wow, 6 years since I made that comment, completely forgot about it.
I would say that they are very different types of DJ, Mills has a very different sound and way of putting his sets together, Vath is more simple in terms of mixing. They are very different sets too, one is recorded in front of a live audience, the other not, so the comparison probably wasn't justified. I think in terms of sheer technical skill, nothing really comes close to The Exhibitionist, but I did like this live set too, totally understand where you are coming from.
who is listening now ?!
How dare you!......I'm listening now!
Strange days.
PEACE.
This DJ Koze remix is just class
Yeah when i heard that tune I knew it was gonna be a sick set, that Koze album is so good
Great track

Best set for years. Perfect in any imaginable way. What a great flow and melodic impact it has. This is what I call a timeless set. Is there a download option?

@@markanthony2495 I prefer the original source.
The girls got no glue who is actually spinning the records in front ... BUT WE'RE IN THE CAMERA!!!!
I remember like yesterday when this came out. It was 8 days later when I split with my girlfriend and this helped me out so much that time. I love it. Papa Sven is the best 😎😎❤️🙌🙌🙌
