Walmart Spark. 4 stops. 3.3 miles, 31 minutes for $8.60. No wonder that service is deteriorating

You are 100% absolutely correct if the drivers continue to take this crap they will continue to send it the only way to stop it is to stop accepting the bulshit wake the f****** up drivers.

I got a $6 order for Walmart on UberEats. I don’t like going shopping for ME…I refuse to go shopping for ANYONE for under $20 bucks. 💯 And 20 bucks is my starter.

I am also sick of picking up people at Walmart ,and other grocery stores, to drive them and carry their groceries like I am a Uhaul service, and none of these people tip either. They don't want to buy a car, but there will be a family of them, but they just want to rely on other people to carry their stuff around for them. When did I sign up to be used as Uhaul or a Delivery Truck? I just signed up to drive people from Point A to Point B, that's it. I don't mind doing Uber Eats once in a while - when it is worth it, which is rare, but I did not sign up to drive people's stuff.

Same thing with hospitals but as medical rides. Had a Lyft ride the other day where I was picking up this guy at a hospital. And as I pull up to pick him up a female hospital employee asked me once I drop him off at his destination is to walk with him to his room. Told the lady I am not doing that. And then they refused to the cancel ride saying I refuse to do my job. Despite I would have still taken it if it was not for that idiotic request. I also had rides in the past where their wheel chair could not fit in my Uber X vehicle. I am tired of getting hospital requests and not knowing if I would get screwed over. Because Lyft has known to not pay me for cancelation fees. Like the other day I kicked a passenger out after they refuse to wear a seatbelt. And Lyft paid me $0 and act like the ride never existed despite already on the way to drop-off. Getting bad out there. Be safe everyone.

I pull in to Walmart, avoiding the entrance so I can see if it is a worker. I won't take shoppers with a cart full of merchandise. I'm with you, that I, to, am not a Uhaul service. I avoid laundromats to. And people that don't tip just plain suck. Keep your head up and do your best to cherry-pick rides that possibly get you tips. It's very challenging to avoid the losers out there, so many.

The problem there are some hopeless drivers will do it, this is the inflation effects, go to any airport queue and see for yourself 70 and 80 thousands cars taking X $5 dollars ride, the ride share companies are operating like criminals enterprise sucking the blood of drivers whom are many of them don’t have $5 in his pocket, it’s supply and demand issues

Successful Drivers know their markets very well...like the Rideshare Professor. Well enough to just barely make a go of it. Can imagine how challenging that would be for say a newcomer/newbie.

I absolutely never take multiple stop rides. Riders take advantage of the time at each stop. If they take too long, “I’ll catch you on the app”…

    • @andrewb3830
      @andrewb3830 4 місяці тому

Or during the ride they want to add a stop. I strongly discourage that. Point A to point B is all I do.

On weekends you can cherry pick smartly here in Tampa but you have to move around some if areas are dead. Yesterday I accepted a 6.20 short trip then the customer added a stop so I canceled. I then picked up a 28 dollar 45 min trip to Clearwater. So with high demand it's doable. During the week you can't do it as much.

I believe this is mostly a result of people who are illegally, using fraud or sub-let accounts. Here in Michigan our governor gives out free healthcare, cash, and housing to illegal immigrants. Citizens cant compete with that. I have had other drivers tell me that NJ and NY are on the brink of collapse for legal citizens that cant compete because of these horrible low offers.

I have noticed how they underestimate trip time on the offers. Especially at rush hour. I saw a pick up in WLA last week, it was a couple miles for pick up which they estimated at 4 minutes because it was just off the freeway. I took it because I was heading home and it was going in my direction. But when I accepted the pick up time jumped to 11 minutes. So I cancelled and labeled it not worth it. Sometimes when I used to see see a shit offer I'd accept and then immediately cancel and label it not worth it. I hoped that would make them stop sending me crap. And it seemed like it used to work. But doesn't seem to make a difference any more.

My acceptance rate stays around 10 percent on Spark. Why do they have this metric if it supposedly doesn’t affect the offers you receive? It’s simply a manipulation tactic.
In order to make it in the gig economy, you must multi app and cherry pick. I never take orders where customers don’t tip because I offer exceptional five star service and know my worth.

I’ve seen a delivery driver on a Vespa delivery. I’ve seen one what I believe to be a Honda 250 rebel. And I have seen one on a triumph. Now that was at the end of last year. Currently it’s May 2024. The last time I have seen the triumph was at least a month ago. I’m here watching your video thinking. Could be that I have not seen them because they flat out gave up. And I am talking about Newport Beach Costa Mesa. Where I would see them every single day. Parked by all the restaurants. Between three grocery stores.

A full service car wash is about 25 to 40 dollars a pop. Fuel is around 50 to 60 dollars . Oil change $75 to 90. Car insurance with gig rider $175.00/month. A RAV4 hybrid type of vehicle less than 3 years old is around $650 / month on 60 to 70 note. Vehicle replacement down payment is about 250 a month. Plus tires, brakes, shocks. Your monthly overhead is around 3k a month. You need to pay yourself at least 4 to 5 k a month. You can't safely work (drive);more than 45 hours a week. Overhead and profit is about 7 to 8 k a month. Which means you need to make $45.00 an hour without dead time. Uber/Lyft is only paying your basic overhead with no profit. A typical rideshare driver / limo / delivery driver around 40k miles a year full-time. These UFO passengers expect a newer top shape vehicle with top service for free. In Sketchy places. This can kiss my watermelon and banana.

I had quite a few riders this weekend complaining that most of their Uber drivers don't even speak English. I'm amazed at how many people tell me they drove for Uber or Lyft for anywhere from 1 day to 2 months, then gave up due to the horrible pay. I have to tell them that it's only gotten worse in the last 8 months. I take at least 10 screenshots a night of absolutely laughable ride offers I get, 50 miles for $20, jokes like that.

Spark has generally been pretty decent for me but, yes, there are klunkers like this one that come in and it's a hard pass for me. Only for them to send it to me three or more times. Sometimes they bump the fee, other times they won't. As others have said, there are games being played with drivers and Walmart recently caught a crew at the store I work. Generally I can do quite well on Spark, it requires being selective.

As others have said, there are games being played with drivers--- you mean Walmart is doing this or ?
here in texas, I've seen orders that pay 8 for 3 or 4 stops but one customer had 50 plus items I mean with just that order alone is a solid $20 that walmart can pay from that...

Walmart figures that if youre not shopping for these items and person A has 31 items and person B has 11 items and the pay is 8.50 with a 1.50 tip then you're not really doing any work other than parking and sitting for them to load it into your trunk and backseat. Thats why it pays more to shop for the order of 50 items vs than sitting there and scanning the product prior to driving off - I figure that's how they view it.
But I won't drive 10 miles for two orders that pay 8.50 two 40ct cases of water for that pay no way lol people who live at apartments don't shop for two cases of 40 ct water bottles because they would rather someone else do it for them....
